  1. I watched 'Dukes of Hazard' on the weekend. It was actually pretty funny in places. I quite enjoyed it. I still don't know about Jessica Simpson - million dollar body I could run my tongue up and down all day, but still not sold on the face. Enjoyed her contribution to the movie a lot though. Also saw a bit of 'Inspector Gadget' yesterday afternoon. What a mess.
  2. On the way to work... Place Vendome - absolutely awesome. Reminds me of PC69 at their best. Yeah, definately prefer this to Allen/Lande and even the last few PC69 discs. I love it! Legacy - s/t ; Few cool songs, especially the one about going down south. The Spill Canvas - both discs. Man, these guys are something of a marvel. The touching lyrics, the cool acoustic sound. Highly recommended.
  3. My American Heart - 'Meaning in Makeup' ; Very solid album - great riffs. Not 100% convinced after the first listen, but 95% convinced and I do think this is going to grow to be one of my favourite modern rock bands. I really like it a lot. Awesome stuff. My American Heart - s/t ; pathetic production, good songs. Awful sound though. Bonrud - s/t ; I like it a lot. Good ol' fashioned melodic hard rock, very 80's sounding. Great disc. Silent Running - just starting out, but sounding very, very good.
  4. Taproot - 'Blue sky research' (nice surprise) Philip Bardowell - 'In the cut' (also a nice surpise. Good solid album.)
  5. I need a mop over here too Man, what an amazing set of... 'tis the season to be jolly! ... This is that Raylene I also speak of, FYI.
  6. Phil Cristian - 'Prisoner'. Great stuff. Going to listen to The Spill Canvas on the way home - both albums. Brilliant emotive acoustic driven rock (the debut) and the 2nd one is a bit more rockier... very good band though.
  7. 'I cant wait... 'cause forever's just too late to wait to say... I love you... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gosh Geoff......didn't know ya cared.... Spinnin' here....Harem Scarem ~ The Early Years......."Honestly" pass the damn tissues....... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love to love because I love love! Anyway, I just finished listening to that Beau Coup thing again... anyone seen a pair of balls floating around the place?! On the way home it's either going to be The Used or Phil Cristian. Also heard Gary Hughes... uh, I mean Bob Catley at lunch. Skimmed through his first 3 CDs. The first 2 are what they are but the 2001 is horrid. Same ol' thing but I guess I've heard worse... somewhere... like Beau Coup
  8. 'I cant wait... 'cause forever's just too late to wait to say... I love you...' Mmmmmm, what a delightful song! What an album! Love that track though, and the vocals. 'Backside of love' is a killer too. Anyway, I played Rise Against's new album this morning (Man, got to listen some more hard rock as every post I've made here lately has been some wonderful modern rock disc... pretty damn doon band though.
  9. Dude, to each their own but I don't know how you handle the vocals. I love a lot of this nu-metal and although I thought Killswitch Engage and Trivium (and even Alexisonfire) all had cool metallic songs, how can you stand the constant screaming vocals? I don't mind it strategically placed on the album (eg. Hawthorne Heights, or the excelltn Story of the Year), but to have it as the main vocal... to each their own, but certainly not me. In regards to this post, listening to Asia 'Arena' now - what a peice of shit, almost as bad as Balanx, which I just finished with.
  10. All-American Rejects - both albums. Great stuff, I'd have to recommend them to all.
  11. Houston Calls - 'A collection of short stories' ; great CD, one of the better nu-breed ones I've ehard lately.
  12. Do you have a favorite on this one yet? Just curious as to what people are going for.. Spinnin' here......Train ~ 'Meet Virginia' <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey MJ, Really, really enjoying the album. I love the first 3 tracks - 'Have a nice day', 'I wanna be loved' and 'Welcome to wherever you are'. But my fave is 'I am' and also 'Dirty little secret'. 'Complicated' and 'Novacaine' are also both absolute killers, and 'Story of my life' is another fave. The final bonus ballad, 'Open arms' is also a fave. They're my faves and coming in last of the 10, but also a very cool track is 'Unbreakable'. Jeez, I can't tell you the last time I genuinely loved 10 songs from a Bon Jovi disc... it's been a while. I love it, really do.
  13. Is that why they call you Jake The Peg <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That and The Man with Three Legs Also had a couple of people call me 'The guy with this huge piece of meat between his legs'.
  14. On the way to work listened to: Dope - Rough as nuts, but a few pretty cool songs. Straylight Run - Ended up skipping through most the songs out of boredom. My Chemical Romance - Actually pretty cool. Some catchy riffs and good songs. Yesterday it was the Funeral For a Friend bonanza - listened to both those albums. Both very good, and musically excellent. Very impressive. This afternoon on the way back from work I think I'll join a couple of the rest of you and do Bon Jovi's 'Have a nice day' again. I quite like that one...
  15. I tried to streak across a football field once, but no one ever noticed because I tripped over my massive dangling rod before I made it out of the blocks... ... Sorry guys, just had to add something like that to the festivities. Still trying to get over my loss.
  16. Yeah, must admit I'll be watching this one too and might... and I say just might... have a beverage or 2 in the process. I admit I don't like AFL, but have been caught up in 'Swans fever'. It'd be great to see them win, but guess we'll wait and see what happens in a few hours. Admit I'm also much more interested inthe Tiger vs Saints game later on and then the mightly Eels tomorrow, but that can be put on hold for a few hours for the AFL. But yeah, I have a massive either Sunday night (if the Eels lose I will wipe my mind of every memory of it with alcohol) or next Sunday if they make the final... guess we'll wait and see. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I take it you were not feeling the best today then Geoff <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh mate, f*cking shattered. I truly am. I have never seen a more pathetic display in the entirety of my life. To play so great through the season, get the minor premiership and then piss into a bucket rather than play football... oh man, I'm still weeping. I tried to watch the full game but by the second half the screen was too blurry, lost beneath a wall of my tears. Couldn't believe it. Oh well, go the mighty Swans! Not an AFL fan, but man, what a last quarter!!! Very good. ... Maybe I should just follow AFL and avoid the heartache of following the Eels...
  17. Tennis, soccer, running and I gave baseball a go too. Played a bit of football socially, but never properly, though I always wanted to. Also played basketball from time to time but sucked and I didn't like it much anyway, though these days at our new place near facilities I like to take the ball down to the court after a few kicks of the footy and see how I go. I still suck. Every person I ever meet for the first time asks me if I play/ed basketball as I'm about 6' 3" (is that how you do feet and inches?). But yeah, about 193cm tall and always get the question. But yeah, I was a champion runner (constantly 1st place) up to year 7, and from there on it was always middle of the range - same with competetive swimming, though I'd go toe to toe with anyone in endurance swimming... but I always loved my sports anyway, especially the water. I hear now they've incorporated surfing into sports at school!!! You're kidding! Now that would have been a treat! Also did ten-pin bowling for a few terms, which was great fun.
  18. Yeah, must admit I'll be watching this one too and might... and I say just might... have a beverage or 2 in the process. I admit I don't like AFL, but have been caught up in 'Swans fever'. 19. Oh mate, you poor bastard. I actually heard a bit of what will be on 'Chinese democracy' (if it is ever released) and it sounds pretty damn awful... but here's hoping also. As for the best comebacks: Tesla - 'Into the now' (Sensational return after so long away) TNT - 'My Religion' (even if I loved every album before that, stellar comeback to sensational 'close to origin' form) Bon Jovi - 'Keep the faith' (Brilliant CD after 5 year hiatus as band) PC69 - 'Electrified' (The obvious choice for members here I'd have assumed) Gotthard - 'Homerun' (Killer album after, IMO, a pretty soft effort and 2 average hard rock CDs - even if all albums were good and had about 2 killers on them, 'Homerun' really saw them come back into a form which parallels the debut) White Lion - 'Main attraction' (after the disaster which is 'Big game') Skid Row - 'Thickskin' (I think it is a great album considering they lost one of the best hard rock vocalists ever and had been so long out of the scene) Butch Walker / M3 (after the end of Southgang, great to hear Butch [in M3 and solo] rocking in a new way, but as hard and good as he did before. Killer songs with much wonderful melody. Brilliant return!) There are plenty, but that's it for now.
  20. 'House of wax', unfortunately. That blonde girl from '24' (always forget her name) is rather beautiful, but she looked very average in that film, therefore, diminishing my enjoyment level. It was amusing watching Paris get a pole through her head though, but I was surprised she didn't manage to wrap her mouth around it before it got to her forehead...
  21. She can wash my car in that gear anyday, as long as i can watch. . The video clip is on the cds. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I saw this filmclip while I was out at a club on Saturday night. Didn't take long for my genetails to be out of my pants, ripping what stood before the hungry rod… uh, sorry… I mean - great filmclip! We, I mean I, thoroughly enjoyed it.
  22. Sorry Dave, but this sounds like a pile of horse excretement to me. Surely the committee would not turn their back on me like this! Average posts? Surely you jest! It cannot have come down to such trivial matters as that. Plus, if we're talking averages, I've been told that women, on average, rate me a 9.7 out of 10. Damn my sister, who was a bit harsh on me (I think she only gave me a 9.5! The hide of her!) but she unfortunately bought the average score down to a pretty embarrassing mark. And therefore, I believe that being sexy slightly outranks how many posts are made on average... wouldn't you agree? As I said buddy, I'll try to mention you in my speech... if I have the time between the words I speak so dearly of myself Hardy har! And just to let you all know, I'm being filmed as I type this now. They're actually preparing a reality show based on me and my achievement with my 300 posts. Therefore, I hardly think my role in the awards ceremony will be replaced...
  23. Sorry, but not too much mate. If you want to meet me at lunch tomorrow I can arrange a pat on the back, but until you reach 300 you're a bit of an 'outsider'.
  24. Hot Boy... Rock Boulevard.... Big Bang Babies.... Surrender.... I heard they're all availalbe for a spare change on the 300+ board. Not to mention all those bands us plebs on this baord have never even heard. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey mate, yeah picked all those up this morning - 3 copies of each, for the kids as well. My smallest change was a dollar, so not sure what to do with the 17 cents change after I bought them all. Guess I can throw it down to you pre-300 posters and I can laugh as I watch you chomp like pigeons for the change. Ha! Ha! Hardy har har! Sorry... really sorry mate. Look what my new found fame is turning me into. I am not an evil person and I will be the same person I was pre-300 posts... though it's hard to do with all these women, money and this 4 inch penis. But anyway, back to the new board. I was most surprised to find a copy of Stikky Dikk's first album. It was the band I used to be in - never even knew we recorded anything, but I'm on lead vocals on the CD. Great CD. Brilliant songs like 'Sex chaser', 'Pole inserter', 'Where did the dildo go wrong' and 'Love ain't a cup of tea'. You'll have to check it out once you nail that 300th post
