  1. I was just listening to a couple of wonderful cover songs that couldn't be more different. Adrenaline Mob's Barracuda, which is an almost note for note perfect rendition of the original (except fot the male vocals of course) and Rob Lamothe's (Riverdogs) version of paranoid which is a complete re-working of the original. Both magnificent. Just wondering what some of your favorite cover versions were and if you prefer one's that stay true to the original or ones that differ from it.
  2. Wig Wam - 667...The Neighbour of the Beast is one of the wittiest titles i've ever come across. Brilliant!
  3. Hilarious portrayal of a metal lead singer by Jim Carrey (His "Welcome to the jungle" lip syncing performance is priceless. It also has one of the best car chase scenes ever. I don't know how an explosive delivery system like that hasn't become more popular in real life.
  4. At the moment, can't stop listening to, Evidence One - Mind Mines Tango Down - All Fall Down
  5. Their good songs are still good - and they do have some great ones. No excuse in the world for what the lead singer did, but like I said in another thread, I'm just lying to myself if I think it has any impact on how I view their music. And I do have empathy for the other guys in the band too. From every report I've read, the other guys in the band were as shocked as the rest of the world and part of me would feel bad for them to completely bar their music from my ears forever. Anyway, I'm just lucky I'm a simple person. A good song is a good song. Life is really that simple for me. Whether it be One Direction, Lostprophets or christ forbid, if The Darkness ever create a good song. I completely agree, but unfortunately i'd be lying to myself if i thought it didn't impact my views on their music. I think because of watkins' creative input (music, lyrics and i believe cover art design), it just spoils my enjoyment of their stuff. I wish it didn't.
  6. I love "4:00am forever", "Bring 'em down" and "We'll bring an arsenal" by "Lost Prophets", but for obvious reasons i just can't bring myself to listen to them.
  7. different albums mate. Yes, of course. What a dickhead i am. Good on you Glen.
  8. Great selections, especially Epic, More wine waiter please, Wanna be the one and In your arms, although for the Babylon AD debut i would've gone with Bang go the bells.
  9. Spot on! The first one i thought of as well, also perhaps,Valentine - Runnin' on luck again Paradise - Nightmares and of course, AC/DC - Thunderstruck
  10. I'm sure i'm completely off the mark, but i'll have a go. How about, Fate - Bridges are burning Pretty Maids - Little drops of heaven Gotthard - I wonder HEAT - Livin' on the run Aldo Nova - Touch of madness
  11. Thanks KarpetRyd. Great job. It's always good to have new leads. You're a Champion!
  12. I guess there's a few but the one that comes to mind is Drew Hannah from "wildside". "Under the Influence" is one of my favourite albums of all time and although Hannah has a terrible voice it just seems to fit perfectly with the music. I couldn't imagine anyone else on vocals.
  13. The movie itself is nothing special really, but thanks for confirming my memory about the music in it.
  14. WOW. You've done well. You should change your name to MagicKarpetRydOFunk.
  15. Thanks mate. That's great! The "skull" song isn't too bad.
  16. I found the movie on youtube (didn't even think to look there). Thanks again. The end credit song is tattoo rodeo for sure and going by the chorus it's called "restless heart". Great song, but unfortunately due to the poor picture quality i can't read the text. There is a scene in the movie where one character is playing hard rock samples to another. They sound familiar, but i can't pick them. Watching that scene after so long has peaked my curiosity even more. Still need help.
  17. Hey guys, i need some help with a soundtrack from a 1990 movie called "Kid" starring C.Thomas Howell. I saw it on laser disk when it first came out and i remember it had some great hard rock in it. Since then it has been almost impossible to find anything about it. Apparently "tattoo rodeo" sing on the end credits, but that's all i can find. Does anybody know the rest of the soundtrack tracklist? It's been so long, i can't remember anything about the songs, i just remember at the time i thought they sounded pretty good. I would be curious to see who it was. Cheers.
  18. Welcome mate. I'm a new member too. I'm sure you'll love it here.
  19. beautifully said, and absolutely spot on when it comes to viewing ratings. Case closed.
  20. If there was any doubt about Rick Springfields' rock credentials, one needs only to remember Zoot (or Pink Zoot). Check out their version of "Eleanor Rigby" on youtube. I dare say it's better than the original! This track alone and the longevity of his career gives RS legend status in my books, and he's an Aussie to boot!
  21. Thanks mate. I might take you up on that. I can see there's a few aussies on here, which is great and it's good to see such a diversity in nationalities on here also. The love of this music truly has no boundaries! It's like a religion and Heavy Harmonies is our Temple.
  22. Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm from Macedon, Victoria in Australias' South East. I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to this new fangled internet business, but i'm getting the hang of it. I can see i'll enjoy your senses of humour. I'm already copping shit about my favourite disc for fucks sake. Nice.
  23. Hey guys. Been browsing the site for a few months now and finally decided to register and list my discs. What a wonderful site this is. As a reference it's second to none and the comments from members have been invaluable when it comes to new albums. I'm looking forward to giving some ratings and comments of my own. Cheers!
