  1. Why are all the news sites changed to a shit mobile layout that is harder to read? I used to check the BBC News site multiple times a day to keep up with current affairs but since they changed it i haven't been back. Trouble is i can't find another one that has nice simple single line links to news stories which i can scan through quickly and pick what's interesting. They are all full of videos and big pictures on the front page displayed in no logical order. It's bollocks i tell ya!
  2. I'm not happy about it, i'd heard the hype and was really looking forward to checking them out which i did on a lads music night when very drunk on red wine. Of course it sounded awesome but so would The Wombles with the amount i'd drunk. Sober it doesn't quite have the magic. I should stay pissed all the time

  4. It's ok, just gave it a re-listen and Halestorm just lack that last bit of magic that separates the good from the great. I think i'm one of the few people out there that doesn't rate Lzzy's voice.
  5. What annoys me about some releases is i hear the live album and think wow i must get that on DVD but the DVD is different to the CD Live After Death and Pink Floyd's Pulse are both like that and the DVD's just don't live up the CD's. Anyways you guys are really selling Tokyo Dome to me really well
  6. Yep, it's a hard one alright! Mr Cooper is loved by one of my uncles who has been to see him many times. I remember hearing the early stuff when i was really young. I'll go with Billion Dollar Babies and Trash. Although Hey Stoopid was pretty damn good too at the time and Welcome 2 My Nightmare was a very good sequel to the original.
  7. I checked out ...The Strange Case Of a couple of weeks ago and wasn't that impressed. The debut was probably their strongest album for me but not strong enough for me to rate any tracks from it. However Bad Romance from the Reanimate covers EP rocks!
  8. Ok what about Alice Cooper? Another artist that has a discography that spans era's?
  9. I've just got round to listening to Hot Cakes which i thought was shit so i'll probably think this one will be shit too judging by Barbarian
  10. I'm listening to this now and it sounds like they can't work out what to sound like. It's certainly a mixed bag and one that doesn't work for me not that i rated any of the previous albums. I'm only on track 9 so there may be something to surprise me at the end.
  11. Good to see those Arena discs getting a workout...Great band..The new album is rather fine too. Radioactive - F4ur Elevener - When Keleidoscopes Collide Union Mac - Lost In Attraction The Visitor is my personal favourite and the new one is probably in second place behind it. There's some great guitar work in all the albums. 12. Rocky III. Eye of the Tiger at epic volume levels
  13. Anthrax ... I'd go with 'Persistence Of Time' ... 'Among The Living' was good, but 'PoT' has the edge (I saw them with Iron Maiden at the time of 'PoT', and they were superb!) Slayer ... again, I'm usually swimming against the tide when I say that I think 'South Of Heaven' was their peak ... it combined the nastiness and venom of their earlier material with songs that didn't just fly by at 'however-many-bpm-Lombardo-could-manage' ... I've never liked PoT. I can see why it would be chosen as their peak though. South of Heaven is a great album and it's difficult to split how good it is with Seasons in the Abyss. Both great.
  14. Yeah, I'd basically agree with Jez's list on the bands I know well, with only a couple of minor exceptions: Tesla - for me there's no doubt it'd be 'The great radio controversy' for these guys. Scorpions - I actually don't see a peak in them at all if I'm being honest. I only know their music from 1982 until now, and I like the guys, but I can honestly say there is not one album in there that actually stands out. I think 'Crazy world' for a sec, then probably 'Face the Heat, and then 'Humanity Hour 1.' But honestly, not convinced by any of them. When I get around to rating their discography, I'd bet I don't rate a single of their albums above 70% which, to me, means no peak... yet? House Of Lords - kind of with Glen on this. Although I might personally prefer 'Demons Down' ( honestly don't know), I think the debut was their finest hour and possessed something that none of their albums that followed had. Ratt - to me they have two peaks. You'd have to go without 'Out of the cellar' to be honest, but by jeezus was 'Detonator' a sensational way to round out the decade for them. I'd be content with either of those two but no other. 'Out of the cellar' would be the true answer as it's all Ratt and Desmond Child helped out a lot with 'Detonator,' kind of taking away some of that authentic Ratt sound. But they're still both killer discs. That's a good point regarding the Scorpions. Looking over my favourites list i only have three of their tracks on it from three different albums. So no they probably never peaked! I'm certainly looking forward to giving Ratt a listen. Haven't heard 'em in years!
  15. Arena - The Visitor Arena - Immortal? Arena - Contagion Arena - Pepper's Ghost Arena - The Seventh Degree Of Separation Arena - The Unquiet Sky Audioslave - Best Collection Bachman - Heavy Blues
  16. Grab the soundtrack, it's awesome. There might even be a best of Ricky but they re-use heaps from the first film in later films. Got it and its been listened to many times. Great music! I watched Rocky II last night and enjoyed it as much as the first one
  17. Completely agree with that. I've never liked Joey Belladonna so the John Bush era is the best for me. My music taste went solely heavier for a few years but now i can appreciate pretty much all rock and metal. Slayer hit a peak on Seasons in the Abyss for me. Some monster riffs on that record.
  18. I don't know the Pretty Maids stuff i'm afraid. We've done two of the big four so what about Anthrax and Slayer?

  20. I couldn't agree with you more on that one. The production of the Crimson Idol is staggeringly good with some excellent guitar work on it from Bob Kulick. I've only heard up to Dying for the World but in my opinion there isn't a bad album up to that point. I just haven't got round to the newer stuff
  21. Rocky I'd actually never seen it all the way through in one sitting and i bought the boxset on Blu-Ray months ago and watched the first one last night. Really enjoyed it and it's got some really nice music from Bill Conti running through it.
  22. I do like Classic Rock magazine and will carry on getting it until it gets replaced by an app but i have to agree they over hype a lot of crap and the reviews are mostly way off. I get it for the articles.
  23. Interesting. The mighty Google knows nothing of it :/
  24. So is it possible that an artist can have two peaks? and if so who would qualify? Aerosmith, Kiss and Whitesnake?
  25. I know I'm probably in a very small minority, but 'So Far, So Good ...' resonates with me far more than what came afterwards. Like I said, I'm a big fan of everything they did up to 'Youthanasia', but 'So Far ...' is the last album where they sounded truly snotty and belligerent ... they seemed to grow up after that I'm forever arguing with my mate James about Whitesnake - he prefers their post-1987, MTV-friendly, arena rock ... I prefer their 'bluesier' material (although the remixed version of their 'Slide It In' album, with John Sykes adding guitar, is pretty good ) I do like me some Dokken ... 'Tooth And Nail' just stands out for me - plus, it's got my absolute favourite Dokken track, 'Don't Close Your Eyes' I like 'The Crimson Idol', but it never did it for me in the same way that 'The Headless Children' did. So Far So Good is definitely an angry and snotty album. The first three are in your face music! I was pleased Dave stayed relatively Angry through to Symphony when Metallica had calmed down by then. One of my favourite gigs was when W.A.S.P. toured the Crimson Idol about 10 years ago. Brilliant night!
