  1. Wow! There's loads of stuff there i don't know. I think i'll be tweaking the playlist right up until it gets played! I've added: Lillian Axe - All's Fair In Love And War Shotgun Messiah - Heartbreak Blvd But i've yet to sit down and listen to it all to see if it hangs together ok
  2. I really enjoyed the Eden's Curse and The Second Coming albums but haven't rated anything by them since. The new vocalist doesn't do anything for me so i'll be checking anything else out by them i think
  3. Helloween - Walls Of Jericho Helloween - Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 1 Helloween - Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 2 Helloween - Pink Bubbles Go Ape Helloween - Master Of The Rings 22 Carat Country Gold Every UK Number One - 1953 Every UK Number One - 1954 Every UK Number One - 1955 Every UK Number One - 1956
  4. I'm really looking forward to this. Bought the blu-ray box set of the first six films last year. Brilliant films!
  5. I predict i'll be the only one rockin' out on the dance floor but i don't care I've paid for the venue, the food, the DJ and we've got a room booked to stay the night. I'm going to have fun! But i get your point, i think i'll pad it out with some well known tunes but i'll try and keep it in a similar vein so it has a flow. I've yet to play with the running order but i'd like it to build to some kind of climax (well to my ears anyway). In theory the crowd will have had 3 hours of mainstream music and hard drinking time so they should be pissed enough to dance to anything. Oh and i'm pleased i've stumbled across and been welcomed in to such a cool place with some impeccable music taste. Thank you for having me!
  6. Oh really? Thanks for the heads up, i'll see if i can sniff it out at some point
  7. You've never heard any House Of Lords before?! Nope, I've got some somewhere though. I'll have to dig it out. Haven't heard any Helix before either.
  8. Ace of Base - Hidden Gems Aerosmith – The Virginia Connection Aeverium - Break Out After Forever - Prison Of Desire Gotthard - Bang! Halestorm - The Strange Case Of... Heart - Heart Heart - Bad Animals H.E.A.T. - Beg Beg Beg EP H.E.A.T. - Freedom Rock H.E.A.T. - Tearing Down The Walls H.E.A.T. - Live In London
  9. Hmm another artist i've not heard anything by. Will check them out, thanks. Heavens Edge and Hinder have been loaded up for next weeks listening on the back of suggestions in this thread ;-)
  10. Ok am i right in thinking that Erik Gronwall is the lead singer on Live In London? I was looking forward to hearing 1000 miles live, especially the climatic ending but he doesn't do it Kenny's vocal at the end of that tune is hairs on the back of the neck stuff. I'm guessing Erik can't replicate it.
  11. Haven't heard anything by Great King Rat, House of Lords, Sturm Und Drang, Wall of Silence, Von Groove, Blue Tears before and the H.E.A.T track is on the only album i've not got by them. I'll have a listen to those when i can. Thanks for the suggestions!
  12. It's a great track. Blasted it out a couple of times already!
  13. Just listened to the Beg Beg Beg EP. Does Tonight feature on any albums? It's such a strong track that i can't believe it doesn't!
  14. My uncle loves them. I haven't heard all their stuff but i can take or leave them. Du Hast was good in the clubs when it was released though
  15. I know, odd isn't it. At the time they were overshadowed by what else i was listening to i think and i've not been drawn to them since. I did listen to them again last year and they are good but to my ears not great albums. Each to their own i guess.
  16. I really liked the title track from The Heat but the rest of the album was pretty weak i must agree
  17. Shit, how long is your lunch break?? Lucky bastard I'm all digital these days. CD collection is just sitting there gathering dust. I store everything on my desktop PC and use Mediamonkey as my organiser. I copy music to my samsung galaxy phone and a few other USB devices and play them plugged into a stereo at home as well as in the car. Each week I just delete most of whats on my phone / USB and put a bunch of new stuff on there. I hate apple products....everything is so much easier with samsung Ah ha, the closest to my setup so far. I have Samsung phones too, the only reason i don't use them is because of their battery life. I use a dedicated MP3 player because it can last for days between charges and i load it up with stuff once a week.
  18. Live his voice sounds like Renegade. I don't know what he was thinking when recording the EP
  19. Whoa! that's the story of my life dude! When digital music became available for download i went ape shit on Amazon, iTunes for a breif but expensive stint and various trading circles i came across from time to time. I've got mountains of mp3's i bought and still haven't heard and when i hear something out and about or at a mates house and go wow, what is that i rush home and discover i've had it for years! Use Your Illusion came out when i was well into GnR and i'm a big fan of both of them. I don't think i would cut anything from them and the Guitar World voted track order is baffling. I didn't gel with Chinese Democracy when it came out and haven't really heard it since come to think of it. About the only thing it did was put me onto Buckethead's stuff which has some hidden gems in.
  20. We are a firm believer in it's a party for us so the music played should be what we like and want to hear. Having said that i don't want to completely alienate the guests. So a mix of the most popular with some more obscure tracks only maybe i would know mixed is what i'm aiming for. Hence Livin' On A Prayer being in there. Most will know and like it and i only tend to enjoy it when pissed so i'll play it later in the playlist We did something similar at our wedding reception and Gun's Word Up went down a storm. Most of the guests hadn't heard it before and loved it. So it's going in again. My ears pick up on guitars and a good vocalist. Guitars can be quite simple but i'm a sucker for a good riff, solo and a hook. The vocals (and i suppose the song as a whole) needs to go places too, if the singer has a good range and let's rip when a song climaxes i'm in.
  21. 1950's Teen Dreams (150 Classic Hits) Every UK Number 1 - 1952
  22. Good call on Steel Panther! I need to listen to the albums as i've only heard odd tracks here and there so far. The only other track i have from that list is Trixter. I've got nothing by Sweet F.A. at all.
