  1. Don't Mean Shit is on the latest Classic Rock Magazine cover CD and i thought it sounded great. I really like the tune so i'll check the album out soon.
  2. I'll add L.A. Guns and Pretty Boy Floyd to this topic. I played both to death in my early teens but PBF especially doesn't sound to have aged too well to my ears.
  3. Pretty Boy Floyd - Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz Classic Rock - Summer Daze May 2015 Every UK Number One - 1971 Every UK Number One - 1972 The Harder They Come Soundtrack Every UK Number One - 1973 .38 Special - Flashback

  5. Good to see someone else spinning that one. Best modern rock release of 2015 so far. Glory - 2 Forgive Is 2 Forget Golden Farm - Angel's Tears Goodbye Thrill - Goodbye Thrill Goodbye Thrill - Outrageous Grand Design - Time Elevation Grand Illusion - Ordinary Just Won't Do It made for some nice easily listening. I wasn't expecting much from it but was pleasantly surprised. Air It Out from Grand Design's Time Elevation is a great track!
  6. Man this is a massive subject! Although i promised myself when i was very young that i must move with the times (i refused to act like me parents and say things like "it's just noise" and "in my day...") i do wonder how music would have turned out without grunge. I learnt to embrace change as i grew older and i do appreciate some tunes that came from the Seattle scene but man the glam/hair metal/melodic rock scene was so happening before grunge hit.
  7. Thanks I may do when hear it. I think it was pretty important the missus picked the songs played at our wedding. She discounted some because the lyrics were completely inappropriate. I thought they sounded nice though
  8. Every UK Number One - 1970 40 Hits 1970-1974 4Arm - Survivalist The Abominable Iron Sloth - The Abominable Iron Sloth Agnostic Front - The American Dream Died Akeldama - Everything Beautiful Akeldama - Akeldama EP Akhlys - The Dreaming I All Time Low - Future Hearts
  9. It's more about the delivery. I may not like the original release of a certain song but a i may take to a cover of it because it has more power or sounds like it's performed with more feeling. The lyrics are most likely identical so they aren't a factor. I do hear lyrics i suppose because i can sing along to a fair few tracks. I just don't comprehend them as sentences if you get my drift. For instance i used to be able to sing along to Du Hast by Rammstein but i don't understand german. The words just sound good together
  10. Holy shit indeed! It hasn't put me off listening to them in the near future though. Oh and thanks JC!
  11. Yep, i hear an overall sound/vibe/emotion/power to a track which i either like, dislike or think is average.
  12. So is my missus. She is a real lyrics person and doesn't understand how i can let them go in one ear and out the other. Having said that since this thread has started i have started picking up on certain lyrics when i can make them out clearly.
  13. Wow that was getting heavy. I agree with Dan's post in that thread. It's all about the sound as a whole for me too.
  14. That IS good Geoff, some great guitar work in there!
  15. Sucks you started with this one. Listen to NAME OF THE ROSE start-to-finish on youtube. It's brilliant. Added to the to listen to list
  16. I've not heard any Ten albums and that isn't a good advert for their music
  17. I think those are the first Trixter tracks i've heard and it sounds like i've been missing out
  18. Never heard of them but that sounds pretty good
  19. Beautiful Goodbye from From the Inside's self titled and 21st Century from Visions are great tracks! 100 Top Dance 2015
  20. I like that. The guitar riff reminds me of Skid Row at points in that track and the lead singer sounds like a higher pitched version of Seb
  21. There is a great interview with Coverdale defending his album in Classic Rock Magazine this month. He basically doesn't give a fuck what people are saying. He enjoyed making it and likes it.
  22. Haven't heard Alias for a while but i do remember it being fairly average. However me and the missus sat down and listened to dozens of tracks and she picked More Than Words Can Say as our first dance at our wedding. I can honestly say that no one there knew it
