  1. Woops, does your wedding video ever get played by anyone other than you? Ok i've got all those tracks apart from Bang Gang in my unsorted folder. I know Poison, PBF and Tigertailz from years ago and was contemplating Love Bomb Baby. Cheers Geoff, i'll see what i can queue up before the big day.
  2. So at the end of May the Missus and I are throwing a party to celebrate my 40th and it will be our 10 year anniversary of being together. The missus music taste has slipped in to pop over the years so we've decided to split the music in to two sections. The party starts at 7pm until midnight so we thought pop could play from 7 until around 9:30pm and then the real music can start! So i have 2.5 hours to fill and i need to provide the playlist to the DJ who isn't familiar with rock. So far i have: Bai Bang - Stay Blessed By A Broken Heart - Shut Up And Rock Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer Bullet For My Valentine - No Easy Way Out Crazy Lixx - 21 'til I Die Dan Reed Network - Ritual Firehouse - All She Wrote Gun - Word Up Guns N Roses - Night Train H.E.A.T. - 1000 Miles Journey - Don't Stop Believin Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart Rock Sugar - Round and Seperated Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild Sven Gali - Under The Influence Wig Wam - Rocket Through My Heart I suppose i'm looking for some inspiration to fill the list out a bit.
  3. Sweet! I bet that rocks! or does when you want it to
  4. 2013 Toyota Rav4. Reads all 10,500 tracks fine. Although she insisted on pilfering albums from my unsorted folder so the tags are mess on most of them
  5. Loved their first album. Neuromancer, Into the Heart of Danger and Machine Revolution made it on to my favourites playlist but i found Unholy Savior disappointing in comparison. It had some nearly moments but not enough for me to play it again. Hopefully they'll found some of the magic of their debut on the next one.
  6. Nottingham is our nearest decent city music wise. I used to go to Rock City regularly for gigs but i've moved further away since then. London is a complete ball ache to get to from here so i've never seen been to a gig there. However i did see Bon Jovi in Milton Keynes a while back. I have the feeling it was the Crush tour. Andreas Johnson was supporting.
  7. Just had a quick listen to Fever and i must admit it sounds much better than anything on the debut. I'll give it a go if i come across it in my travels
  8. It's really good to see a wide range of nationality's on here! and good to see some fellow brits. I wished i lived somewhere near a decent rock venue. There is nothing in Lincolnshire. I browse the gig guide in Classic Rock magazine and envy the people that live near Camden!
  9. I've never really gelled with FM. I'd heard good things about Rockville but it didn't really do anything for me. Having said that neither did Indiscreet or Tough It Out.
  10. I grew up on the same scene in Lincoln as Dean in the 90's and saw him play in Sinful Kixx many times back then. Haven't seen Knock Out Kaine yet though
  11. People don't appreciate how much time it takes to properly tag a collection of music. I must have put in hundreds and hundreds of hours to tag the 140,000 tracks i've done so far and that's not even scraped the surface of what's in my to listen to folder. My missus has a USB port in her car and she has a 64GB stick full of pop compilations. I have a car kit for my MP3 player which i plug the player in to and it broadcasts it to the radio. Not particularly good quality but enough to get an idea whether the album is good or not and if it is i'll give it a respin with good headphones or on the PC
  12. Christ on a bike! That's a lotta tracks to drive to
  13. Vixen & Phantom Blue i can remember sounding and looking good back in the day!
  14. Had a few large compilations queued up the past couple of days: 101 Pirate Radio Hits 101 Running Songs 120 Hits: Greatest Hits Of Soul And R&B
  15. I would if i could too but the internet around these parts is utterly shit. I also hate anything made by Apple so i tend to find i'm in a minority when it comes to how i listen to my music. Haven't met anyone else using a Zune
  16. They have a nice sound, liking them a lot!
  17. I've got Pale Sister of Light but didn't think much to it.
  18. Are us Brits thin on the ground round here Glen?
  19. Very cool list. Barring EZO (which I like but it was never a fave of mine) and Dan Reed (I only like the 4 ballads off their first two albums) that looks a lot like a big chunk of the playlist of my life for a few years past. I could swap Ezo for Vow Wow :-\
  20. I've only heard the first two albums and i've not heard anything by TNT so maybe i've got a more neutral ear for it but it sounds good to me. Harnell enunciates a bit too clearly to be singing a Skid Row tune but at the very end his tone is not too dissimilar to Bach's and i think he nails the wailing at the end. I've got a load of TNT stuff, i should queue it up.
  21. I know what you mean, a hell of a lot goes in one ear and out of the other for me too but i have stumbled across some great tracks i'd never have discovered if i didn't listen to everything i can get my hands on. The coolest thing i've done here is install Picasa which gives me the Google Screen Saver. I have three monitors on my PC and i've saved a high res (or as high a res as i can find) of every album i've listened to and i point the Google Screen Saver at it. It then shows an album cover full screen on each of the three monitors and they slide to the left rotating randomly constantly. It's great to see the covers in their full glory and it reminds of some great albums. I watch it for ages sometimes

    Tigertailz

Hmm i'll have to have a look out for the rest then. I've got Thrill Pistol in my to listen to folder but that's it so far. Thanks Geoff
  23. It's good to know i'm not the only one running a music marathon every day! I started out listening to what ever i got my hands on alphabetically but after 8 years i hadn't got past H and in recent times with the rate new stuff is coming in i rarely got out beyond C. So i've had a change of tactic this last month. I put around 200 alphabetical tracks in to the to listen to list along with, 5 Compilations and fill the rest with what i want to listen to. I figure i should get round to hearing what i'm interested in before i slip of the dish now Since 2006 i've listened to 11920 releases which comprises of 4024 album artists, 12218 individual artists, 142219 tracks lasting 9909 hours 43 minutes.
  24. A few off the top of my head i like to listen to once in a while are: Bon Jovi - s/t Blue Blud - The Big Noise Dan Reed Network - s/t Danger Danger - s/t Ezo - Fire Fire G'n'R - Appetite Lillian Axe - Love + War Shotgun Messiah - S/t Skid Row - s/t Vain - No Respect W.A.S.P. - The Crimson Idol
  25. I'm intrigued to know how the real music enthusiasts listen to their music. I've been collecting mp3's for years now so i use Media Monkey on the PC which has all my music on it and spend a lot of time in my computer room with music playing in the background. When i'm out and about I use a Microsoft Zune MP3 player which has what i've got queued up to listen to constantly synced through the Zune software and Media Monkey on the PC acts as a media server so i have the same software installed on a laptop which can be plugged in to a stereo in the kitchen or the home theater system in the living room and everything can be streamed across the wireless network. I get through an average of a 100 tracks a day that way
