  1. Damn, thing deleted itself. Here I go a second time. Here's the official HH homebrewer's thread. My goal with this thread is for any of us brewmasters to share recipes and results. I understand this could simply end up being another place for Geoff and I to rack up post counts, but my hope is that others will be encouraged and inspired to try new recipes, and that this may also welcome members into the craft. I understand how pretentious that may sound, considering I have only just begun my second batch. Anyway, let us get to it. Here's my first batch: Mo' Brau IPA 17kg Coopers IPA 1kg Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 My original S.G. was 1.040, and, with a final S.G. reading at 1.010, I ended up with an IPA at a pathetic 3.9% ABV. It's been exactly 4 weeks since bottling, and I've definitely noticed an improvement. I just started a new batch: Mo' Brau Real Ale 2 x 17kg Coopers Real Ale I went real basic with this one. I decided I need a control for all my future alterations. How will I know if something is truly better, if I don't know what it's like in its simplest form? However, I did use two cans. It yielded an original S.G. of 1.047, so I'm hoping this one will hit the 5% ABV. I might need another carboy, 'cause I'd like to get one more batch ready that would be appropriate for Christmas/Winter consumption.
  2. Are you a birder? A bit. Bit of a stupid question, when I only had to look at your profile. Have you seen "The Big Year?" Great film. You'd enjoy it.
  3. My #1 from him, but love all of them! It was... and then I saw Young Frankenstein!
  4. I understand what you mean. It's hard to take an online community seriously, when that's all it ever is. Online. I appreciate everyone here, but I don't imagine my life would be affected much if I no longer could access this site. That said, I do still wish the best for everyone here. It's nice to hear of the good things that are happening in your lives, and I genuinely care when you guys face hardships.
  5. Thanks mate. I went to the Snowy Mountains here in Oz for a school trip back in year 7 at high school... sadly that's actually the only time I've ever even seen snow. I hate the cold, but I would love to have a proper crack at snow boarding one day if the situation ever arises. Though I spend all my time trying to avoid the cold rather than seeking it out, so I won't bet on it. Thanks for the tips earlier - that D60 model might be a bit out of our price range but SLR is the route I'd like to go Might look in the January sales for a bargain. I'd suggest sticking with Canon. Would you consider buying used?
  6. What, what!?! I'm looking forward to this.
  7. Yeah, that's definitely quite a different version. How odd. I can't recall off the top of my head, but there ain't no solo in the EP version, is there? There's a ragin' solo in that one. And am I wrong, or are there different lyrics in there too? Either way, still an absolutely killer song. How the hell did I not notice they were different?
  8. Really, Dave? You posted the link. I think I might have your email kicking around. No, I guess I don't have it.

  10. Awesome. I was gonna shoot you a PM to see how you was, but I guess I don't have to, now.
  11. I got them from the Reverbnation site, but all the files seem to be taken down. Yeah I checked that and it was pretty blank.....if anyone can ping me the MP3s Id be a happy camper :-) I could send 'em to you via email.
  12. Yes Ive been to Turkey 3 times - Altinkum, Kusadasi and Bodrum. Ephesus and Pamukkale are an absolute must....but I dont think youre allowed on Pamukkale anymore? Think it might just be viewing only - still stunning though. Out was backpacking across Europe back in 2007, and there was too much conflict goings on in Turkey, so we decided to stay away. Dammit, I need to go travelling, again.

  14. The Magnificent - The Magnificent Probably spin Leverage - Blind Fire after coffee.
  15. And the return of the DB5. I can't wait to see it. It opens tonight, I believe.
  16. You, my friend, are an odd one. I blame it on you being from Ontario. I'd take Jon Oliva over Zak Stevens any day. ANY DAY. But I do agree with you; I really miss Savatage. Why don't these bastards reunite? Also, you wouldn't try to make room for "When the Crowds Are Gone?" Apart from Savatage, I really wish there was more from Wall of Silence.
  17. Why, thank you, sir. I always say, make sure you're well stocked with the essentials!! Great! That's one down. What about the others? Has anyone heard from any other affected?
  18. Amen. Just to give those people that think obama is all that and a bag of chips a heads up, I work in an independent medical office. Because of obamacare and him getting re-elected my doc has told us that he will not be able to afford working since all the govt money will got to the large hospitals, thus driving him out of business. How is that for those that think obama is for the working man? Myself and those I work with will soon be out of a job thanks to that P.O.S. Shit. I'm sorry to hear that. Like I said, I don't claim to know much about American politics, so I didn't know how bad it could be.
  19. An IQ test should be required for a LOT of things... like being allowed to drive a motor vehicle, to hold public office, and in some cases...to reproduce!! Some cases?
  20. Stand down, Wes. Stand the f**k down!! I kid. I don't know much about American politics, so you can't offend me. I'm a little worried for America in the next few years, regardless of who's in office. I don't know how you guys are gonna pull through.
