  1. St. Lucia - When the Night Edison Glass - Time Is Fiction Vanden Plas - Christ 0 Work of Art - In Progress The Winery Dogs - The Winery Dogs Capital Cities - In a Tidal Wave of Mystery
  2. I heard the intro to the first track on the FaceTed a while back and I thought, "Hoo, boy! This is gonna be good." But I didn't have time to finish it, and then forgot to go back.
  3. I was actually disappointed with his new album. He needs to return to his earlier sound.
  4. I find it funny that you're criticizing a station for allegedly obliterating the English language, while you seem to have forgotten how to spell "wives."
  5. What exactly are you trying to discern--the style of AOR you prefer? Or the difference between Hi-Tech and Westcoast?
  6. Like Keef, I didn't get around to too many 2013 releases, and some that I did I won't even mention, because they don't excite me enough. Here are my favourites of what I heard in no special order, aside form alphabetical: Shit that you guys would listen to: AdrianGale - Sucker Punch! (Just an all around solid Melodic Rock album.) Degreed - We Don't Belong (Holy shit!!) John Elefante - On My Way to the Sun (This man can do no wrong) Jonas & the Massive Attraction - Live Out Loud (I'm getting tired of being informed of great Canadian bands by Geoffrey. This shit should be all over Canadian radio!) Tom Keifer - The Way Life Goes (I was not expecting much from this. Probably because I didn't know what to expect. I love it!) The Poodles - Tour De Force (Certainly their heaviest. Much better then "Performocracy," but not as good as "Clash of the Elements.") Queensryche - Quuensryche (Todd-feckin'-La Torre!! What a cool and humble guy! Such a privilege to see this incarnation perform on the MOR Cruise.) Reckless Love - Spirit (One the most anticipated releases of the year, and it sure didn't disappoint.) Saxon - Sacrifice (Is it bad that this was my introduction to Saxon? Pretty feckin' good introduction, I'd say.) Stryper - No More Hell to Pay (Easily my favourite Stryper album. I've never been a big fan, but this is solid all the way through!) W.E.T. - Rise Up (I caved and started liking W.E.T.. I still think Jeff Scott Soto is overrated, but the boys sure brought it with this one.) The Wild Lies - Jack's Out the Box (What a way to start off the feckin' year!!) The Winery Dogs - The Winery Dogs (Here's another one I didn't know what to expect. Probably the best musicianship of the year.) Shit that you guys probably wouldn't listen to: Charles Bradley - Victim of Love (The Screamin' Eagle of Soul returned with a much more consistent album. Phenomenal Soul and R&B.) Capital Cities - In a Tidal Wave of Mystery (80's, 80's, 80's! This Synthpop duo have been around for a few years, but finally broke through.) Earth, Wind & Fire - Now, Then & Forever (This is the only album I feel comfortable lauding as number one! Simply incredible!!) Hurts - Exile (Much darker than their first offering--if that's even possible--and much more atmospheric. Powerful!) J. Cole - Born Sinner (If there was only one Hip Hop album you listened to all year, it should have been this one.) St. Lucia - When the Night (Big 80's Pop vibes on this one. If I were forced to make a top 5 of 2013, this would be in it.) As far as songs go, here are the ones that don't stop bouncin' around in my head: Degreed - What If Earth, Wind & Fire - The Rush http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DR4zBLR93xU Smallpools - Dreaming St. Lucia - Elevate Stryper - The One http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV2Q20NvKSE Peter Thomas - All of You ft. Betty Who (This may have only dropped in December, but I know I'll be playing it all of 2014!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjEKXipqIK4 Waltham - The Highway The Wild LIes - Heartbreaker
  7. Electric Boys - Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride H.E.A.T. - Freedom Rock Jonas & the Massive Attraction - Live Out Loud Reckless Love - Spirit St. Lucia - When the Night Rude - Touch It!
  8. There's a few pretty good songs and nice hook ideas. But I dunno how to explain it, there's just something definitely missing. What? Like James Christian? ;}
  9. Hoo boy! I'm excited for this. I hope it's on par with "Christ 0." I know Chris prefers "Sepharic Clockwork," but that's just because he's out his damn mind. If anything is to be made of that artwork, it appears they may be playing around with some interesting ideas. I hope it's a little darker than previous efforts, yet just as melodic.
  10. So bloody good! Seldom does a track grab me so quickly and firmly. I'd have felt violated if it weren't so good.
  11. Currently on my ninth consecutive spin of this track. In case you all forgot about the Pop shit I listen to, I give you Peter Thomas the man responsible for the sound of Betty Who. This track features none other than... Betty Who. So it sounds just like any other Betty Who track, but this one is under Peter Thomas' name. Oop... ten times, now. Peter Thomas - All of You ft. Betty Who http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjEKXipqIK4
  12. Accept - Stalingrad Savatage - Gutter Ballet Savatage - Edge of Thorns
  13. I posted all of these above for reference, but i don't think these boys really gave them a proper listen. I mean a proper listen. And what's all this talk about Gronwall being miles ahead of Leckremo. I can't put one above the other, they're both brilliant, but only Leckremo does this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTgnSW6MOdM?t=3m20s Damn! I can't embed a YouTube clip if I want the clip to start part way through. Also, when you click the link it just plays it from the start. So forward to 3:20. Also, how great would it be with both guys handling vocal duties?! I think they'd sound great together.
  14. H.E.A.T. - H.E.A.T. H.E.A.T. - Freedom Rock H.E.A.T. - Address the Nation The argument had me listen to them all again.
  15. Yes please! Thanks! Geoff..... I tried to PM you and it says "user cannot receive new messages". Whoops, sorry mate. All clear now. Thanks! As for the discussion at hand, I still love all three discs. I agree the new one is the best and definitely their best sound/style, but the first two are still excellent. Yeah, I tried PMing you a couple times throughout the year, but your damn box was always full. Makes sense.
  16. From "Freedom Rock" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vqPt0uxnGg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRYrfJsQ0mo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocjBnypJ4H8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3GF5aOsj9w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nS8jCYDr2s0
  17. I used to feel the same way, but "Address the Nation" got me listening to "Freedom Rock," which only had a few songs I liked. But then I listened to that album over and over, and started loving the entire album, so I went back further and listened to the debut. I never liked "H.E.A.T." when it was first released, but now even that album is a classic. C'mon, do none of these tracks excite you?: From "H.E.A.T." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FX8_A1BNlWs
  18. You think 'Black cloud' is average? And even the opener, 'Peace?' Wow mate, I love those tunes. Such massive hooks. Probably nothing as good as Destine this year, but honestly, the A Day To Remember disc gets close. Oh, and Mest. Why is everyone not digging the shit out of that one? 'Not what you expected' by Mest is one of my favourite albums of the year. Digital only, I fear. Meh. Mest didn't really tickle my balls. Not like Jonas and the Massive Attraction.
