You guys are giving me the urge to start CD hunting again. And I don't even have a player anymore, save the stereo in my car.

I don't do any thrifting anymore. There's one good used media store I know of one town over, but I hate driving through that city. And the prices are probably too high. And all the CDs you find at the local thrift stores are usually scratched to hell. I miss the thrill of the hunt, though. Even my eBay days, which are long behind me, were a lot of fun.

Oh, it's too bad he didn't use Corabi for this album. That would have been dope. Hopefully they collaborate again in the future.

Like @lettard, I also started on Komodo Island. I wonder if we actually chatted with each other back then. Joined around '05, or '06, and was there until they turned the lights off. Someone gave me a huge file of rare albums. Not all of them downloaded properly, but many of them did, and I believe that is the reason I preferred indie bands for so long--I knew who Mariah was, but had never listened to a Bon Jovi album. Also explains why Mariah's debut is still one of my all time favourites. After the Komodo forums were shutdown, I found Melodic Rock. Never joined Andrew's message board, but I believe it was that site that directed me to Heavy Harmonies main site. I was on there for not too long before I decided to join the forums. Crazy to think it's been fifteen years. Even crazier to think I've almost spent half my entire life here. I'll probably cry when this place is gone. And I don't mean I'll shed a year, I'm pretty sure I'll weep. ;}

A shame, really. Those were the highlights of my week.

Like I said, this place used to be very active. Back in the early 00's everyone was just excited to have a place to talk about a style of Rock they thought was dead, and discover bands they hadn't heard of before. And there weren't many other sites for these conversations. The FaceTubes didn't exist yet. Even when I finally joined, most of the main players had already racked up tens of thousands of posts. I regret not getting to witness @Geoff in his prime. Though I cringe at nearly all of my posts in my early days, so perhaps Geoff would prefer we didn't see him in his "youth" either. ;} But I miss a lot of the old boys.

The dude thinks too highly of himself. Saw him live last year. Great show, no complaints there. But he talked too much. Some of it was interesting, like when he told stories of the band back in the day, but for the most part you just felt, "Alright, mate, shut up and play some music."
