  1. Ok, this made me laugh. He just posted on FB that the bands guitar tech stuck this on him. Although the tour was cut short I gotta say it had its moments. Our guitar tech @caseabeer put this on me before the VIP soundcheck in San Diego. Luckily no one had an IKEA gift card and I don’t think this one comes with a manual
  2. Not sure it was purely timing as 1989 was a fantastic year for hair metal, glam and hard rock in general. Just taking your example of Cinderalla. Their debut when 3x platinum in USA but barely made a dent outside the USA bar a couple of countries, yet Skid Row who released in 1989 went 5x playinum, and had a world wide success on their hands. It really depends from band to band to be honest, the kind of record label push they got, the amount of MTV time they got and a whole bunch of other things. Cinderella and Skid Row both very much benefitted from the Jovi connection, but Skid Row really hit the ground running in a way that Cinderella never did. Of course it helped massively with having a motormouth frontman like Bach who was not exactly unlpleasing to the ladies eyes. Even bands like Winger, Warrant, Firehouse, Slaughter, Bulletboys, Britny Fox & L.A. Guns etc all released their debuts in that 88-90 time period and had good levels of success. While maybe not household names, they each became bands that fans of the genre instantly knew where Blue Tears and many of their ilk didn't. It was a time where any band with big hair and lycra got signed and unless you had the right image, the support and exposure, you were doomed to be nearly bands. I am sure there are plenty of bands from the early 80s who suffered similar fates when all the labels were trying to sign the next Quiet Riot or Motley Crue.
  3. I would have to disagree with part of that. Yes he does ballads well, but since Angel Down he has done barely any. Angel down had two absolutely amazing ballads (By your side & Falling into you) but on the albums that came after that he has focussed on the heavier side of his music. He has dabbled, but hardly done that much that classifies as a ballad. The best thing about this new song is he has gone for more of a S/T vibe rather than Slave or Inhuman, which is what he has thrown most of his weight behind. I don't mind his more modern stuff, but if I could have a whole album in this style with a couple of ballads I would be more than happy.
  4. Only listened to it once, and cant say it blew me away. A little lightweight.
  5. Apparently the Cassidy Paris album is now called New Sensation (its been Rock n roll heart on Amazon up until today)
  6. Honestly would not say it is better than the Bonfire version, and not worse either. Pretty much identical to my ears. Very different vocal delivery from Danny.
  7. I was always under the impression that the follow up was included on the two Suncity albums, mixed in with a bunch of other songs. I know Long Way Home, Kisses In the Dark, With You Tonight, Follow Your Heart and Summer Girl were all supposed to be on the second album, so that would be nearly half of it. I also would not be surprised if Loud guitars was sposed to be on on it. To be honest, I always though the songs on those two albums were all either left overs from the debut or intended to be on the second album, so I think we have heard the intended sophormore release, just not as originally intended.
  8. Those judges with the "the voice sounds famiiar" comments have probably never listened to a Skid Row song in their life. At least not intentionally. Hell they probably barely recognise the song.
  9. Been listening to the album since I got it and to me they sit somewhere between About Us and Girish and the Chronicles. At times very much like About Us in the more melodic songs, but then having that heavier vibe that GATC has. For instance opening track Rider is more GATC followed by the second track Always for you, which is straight out of the About Us book of songs. Don't think it's as instant as either of those but I do like what I hear and think this album will grow on repeated listens.
  10. Well some artists don't like having their music on streaming platforms like Spotify because then people don't buy their music and they get pennies from any listens they get. It's why many artists have pulled their music or why their back catalogue is so patchy. As for iTunes, if it's anything like Amazon, you can only download in the region you live in, so maybe it's just region blocked. I dunnot though as I would not use anything Apple even if they forced me to listen to The Darkness every day.
  11. Hell's Addiction - Nine o'clock horses Fifth Note - Here we are Cassidy Paris - Rock n roll heart
  12. Yeah but further down it says: Video Performance: Sebastian Bach (Vocals) Devin Bronson (Guitar) Bruiser Brody (Guitar) Todd Kerns (Bass) Rob Affuso (Drums)
  13. Didn't say it was Christian, said it was Latin and what it meant. And a lot of Christianity came from paganism anyway. The whole celebration of Christmas is essentially adaptation of paganist celebrations.
  14. She started out as a religious singer when she was 12 years old, and her first album "Test your faith" was heavily marketed as Christian rock. Hell her own record label is called Bona Dea, which is Latin for good goddess.
  15. There are a few artists in our genre I prefer their solo career to their original band. Chez Kane Billy Idol Ted Nugent Michael Monroe (well not Faking it anyway) Joan Jett Lita Ford Kane Roberts
  16. Album due for release 23 Feb 2024 ... preorder now available. https://mnrkheavy.com/collections/ace-frehley/products/ace-frehley-10-000-volts-cd
