  1. Boys in heat was certainly dominated more by normal vocals than screechy vocals, so even back then, I think Dean was getting pissed off with them, so I very much doubt they will return now. Like most people, I preferred Tommy as well, and yes Springhead was good in places, but I do really like Boys in heat and the Blackeyed Susan album, so its not all bad news. As I said before, my only worry is that Dean has changed musical styles a lot over the years, so he may not want to return to a classic sound.
  2. Exposed is awesome IMO and the follow up Carved in Stone is good to but is just a little darker and different but still good. I agree. Carved In Stone isnt gonna appeal to everyone, but it is a good album. Exposed is the best Motley Crue album they never made.
  3. I wouldnt get too excited about this as Dean has had a lot of different musical influences on all the albums he has released since leaving BF, and I'd be worried that he would try to steer the band in his own direction.
  4. Got the new studio album this morning as I preordered it back in Sept (official release date is on the 24th of this month apparently). Thankfully its in a jewel case with a decent booklet. Sadly though the signature (preorders come signed) is on the case, so I can see that wearing off if not careful. The music though is once again not classic Dan Reed Network style, but I really didnt expect it to be. While its not actually an acoustic album, it does have the same kind of laid back feel as an acoustic album, with nothing that really rocks out (or funks out for that matter). Its certainly a more mature CD, and not one thats gonna appeal to everyone, but its a good mellow album for when you just want to chill out.
  5. Not sure if its still available, but the song and video were available for free download. http://heavyharmonies.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=23998&st=0&p=547490&hl=Tequila%20vince%20neil&fromsearch=1entry547490
  6. Cheers for the reply, the confusing thing is they are the first two albums and the one I`m after is also REO. Well there are copies available on Amazon.co.uk, but the cheapest is nearly £43 (ignore the one for £24.99 as its an idiot listing vinyl on the CD page) http://www.amazon.co.uk/R-E-O-REO-Speedwagon/dp/B00000256P/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1273321621&sr=8-2 Annoyingly, they actually do it for download, for a fraction of the price. http://www.amazon.co.uk/R-E-O/dp/B001GT5PAO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1273321621&sr=8-3
  7. This is the one mentioned, that contains both the self titled album and REO Two http://www.amazon.co.uk/Reo-Speedwagon-Two-REO/dp/B000QXDE7C/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1273265409&sr=1-14
  8. Ok, so a few weeks ago someone linked me to the One more time video, and I was impressed. Downloaded the album straight away, and its been on constant rotation on my MP3 player and PC. (I've since been able to afford a physical copy of the CD). This album has hooked me like the Steel Panther one did last year. While the new Ratt album was great, and the new Treat one was a bit disapointing, this surprise release has totally blown me away. I cannot fault a single song on the album. And just to top it off, I booked a ticket last night, to go see them at the Barfly in Camden on the 24th.
  9. the only two on there I can vouch for are the first two, and they are both fantastic releases.
  10. While I agree to a point on the Kiss connection, however Ace didn't sell a whole of solo discs when he had the solo band from 87-89 where Ratt sold in the millions. Ace's label did do a good job of getting his cd in Walmart and Bestbuys and he did a lot of TV and online interviews so there was a whole lot of promotion. I just figured with Ratt's sales history they would of maybe sold more like 30,000 the first week but I guess in this day and age and with downloading that 14,000 isn't that bad but I was just expecting a little more. But, with the current popularity of Kiss with the younger generation, Frehley had a much better chance of being checked out, especially as it was released at almost exactly the same time as the new Kiss album as well. Kiss is selling to old school and new school fans, where as Ratt would not be as popular with "the youth" of today, so would probably only sell to fans from the 80s who are still buying this sort of thing.
  11. Probably cause Kiss is a more known band, and has a bigger following considering they have a retro popularity with the younger generation as well. People know Frehley was a big part of that. Ratt is probably only selling to the old school fans.
  12. We really have been spoiled with all these great 80s bands "back to their roots" type albums in recent times. Danger Danger, Winger, Stryper and now Ratt ... awesome stuff.
  13. Amen to that. I would even go as far as to say there are bands on here that get praised to the hilt, that are a lot worse as well.
  14. From reading other reports, some are now quoting the TMZ report, which makes things all a little bit up in the air. The fact that TMZ's source is apparently the winner of Rock of love, is what makes the TMZ report have less validity in my opinion, sadly.
  15. Scatter is ok, certainly not one of the better tracks on the album. From what I understand, it may also be on the Japanese CD as well.
  16. All other reports are saying that the TMZ report is totally wrong, and he is still critical, with the diabtes making things worse.
  17. Condition has apparently stabalised: http://www.tmz.com/2010/04/23/bret-michaels-stable-condition/
  18. Well as someone who doesnt even like live albums, I sure as hell wont be rebuying the Jovi albums just for a bunch of live shit. I know they still have a whole load of studio demos that have never been released, despite the box set, so would have rather have had those remastered and stuck on the albums.
  19. Pink Cream - Gone again (Electrified) Wildside - Clock strikes (Under the influence) Skid Row - Midnight/Tornado (S/T) Skid Row - Wasted time (Slave to the grind) Poison - Poor boy blues (Flesh & blood) Pretty Boy Floyd - I wanna be with you (Leather boyz..) Blue Tears - Thunder in the night (S/T) Bon Jovi - Wild in the streets (Slippery when wet) Motley Crue - Time for change (Dr Feelgood) Just a few I can think of.
  20. That sucks that the US is so restricted in so many things like this. I know that for years the US was also way behind most of us on mobile phone tech as well, which just seems so weird for a huge country like that. I was even able to play NTSC disc on my old PS2 once I got the region hack disc for it and a new Scart lead, and even our VHS players were able to play US videos both changing their speed automatically and selecting NTSC. As I say, I have known people in the US with region free players, and they never mentioned the problems, so I just assumed they were as easy to come by as over here, plus I have been to a few websites in my time while looking for DVD unlock codes for friends and family, and they all seem to list a bucket load of DVD players in the US that have unlock codes.
  21. He vanished pretty quickly from the reunion line up pretty quickly, and from reports I read, nobody in the band knew why. You would have to assume it was connected to his death as he was either heavily into drugs or had health/mental issues. Its a shame indeed as the PBF debut is one of my all time fave albums.
  22. Nah. I know a lot of people in the US who have multi region players, and they all play PAL discs. To my understanding DVD player models are made exactly the same, and are then code locked to one region, so essentially most DVD players should be both PAL & NTSC compatible.
  23. News is sketchy at the moment, but it is being reported that he died on the 14th of a heart attack. A lot of people are sceptical after the hoax in 2005 as there has been no official statement yet, but going on the blurb on the Type O website, it may very well be true this time.
  24. well I did mention it was a reissue in the first post. Its way too soon for a follow up to My private hell.
  25. Been making my way through my James Bond DVDs recently, and just sitting here watching Licence to kill. Now it wasnt a song I was overly familiar with (although it rang a small bell as I used to own the soundtrack on cassette around 20 years or so ago), but it certainly sounded AOR related, so I looked the soundtrack up on Amazon. It was Tim Feehan (a guy I own nothing by) with a song called Dirty Love, which seems exclusive to that soundtrack. You dont expect to hear an AOR song in the middle of a Bond film as its usually only orchestral music during the film.
