  1. Featuring guitarist Ronni le Tekrø, these guys play some pretty cool Hard Rock. They released an EP titled 'Angels Avenue' in 2009. They've been around a few years now and have several releases before this one. It's a bit hard to describe their sound, but well worth a listen. Shoot the breeze homepage Listen to samples at CD Baby
  2. Pretty good Hard Rock band from Boston. Well worth checking out for fans of modern hard Rock. A bit of a Nickelback sound but better IMO.
  3. I posted this in the E-Bay Auction Data section: Mr. Scary - The World Can Wait CD Item number: 300393314877 Bids...11 Price...AU $449.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...=STRK:MESELX:IT This was the last copy of their full length CD and they just sold it on E-Bay for a whopping $449. I'm not sure how many were pressed but apparently not many. I saw it was pressed in Sydney but wasn't sure if it was an Aussie band or not. Never heard of them before now. Were they any good Andre?
  4. Alias is an acoustic set as part of the VIP only package. So I'm guessing it's Freddy singing and possibly Freddy playing guitar as well.
  5. They're a pop rock band formed by Mike and C.J. Szuter, formerly of Hard Rock/AOR band 'Outta the Blue' who released some demos and a S/T album in the late 80's. It seems the Szuters are really popular in Japan, as this is where they have released four albums. From what I can tell from the bits and pieces I've heard, fans of Cheap Trick, The Click Five, Enuff Z Nuff etc might find something to enjoy here. There doesn't seem to be an awful lot of info on this band on the net but I'd be keen to hear more. Anyone heard their albums? You're the One (You Tube Video) Also of interest is that in an interview on Melodic.net, Mike Szuter states that songs from the two 'Outta the Blue' demos were re-released in recent years on a CD called '"SELECTIONS FROM OUTTA THE BLUE". It was apparently a limited edition CD that was being sold on their website. Anyone manage to get it?
  6. Lots of talk again over at MR.com forums about this issue. I'm a bit sick of it all now and think that its a miracle we received anything from him at all. I'm tempted to push for a refund for the two re-issues that were never received but I don't think I've got the energy to keep E-Mailing this guy for the next 6 months.
  7. Thanks mate. Wow, $80??? Do they have some good support bands? I missed out on LA Guns for about $60 (due to financial reasons) and I much prefer LA Guns to Stryper. Not sure who is supporting. Yeah it seems a bit expensive to me. But I guess that's what you have to pay to see an international headline act these days.
  8. Ok I did some research...they're a Melbourne band. They have a 2006 EP and a 2008 full length album both available on CD Baby. Some pretty decent tracks on the full length album...worth checking out I reckon. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/tallorder2 In The Blink Of An Eye (2008) Forever Overkill With Me Ground Miracle Summer Eyes King Of Yesterday Passed Out So Far Devil In The Blink Of An Eye Tall Order EP (2006) Choice For the Weekend Submarine Fallen Star Another Night Alone Sugar
  9. Geoff, the Stryper dates are Melbourne - April 7 Sydney - April 8 Brisbane - April 10 My mate bought the tickets...think he said $80 from memory. Wouldn't want to pay much more than that.
  10. I've got three of their albums - Fly Me Courageous (1990), Smoke (1993) and Wrapped In Sky (1995). An interesting band they are, playing some decent and consistent Hard Rock with some Southern/Bluesy elements. They sort of remind me of some of the more "alternative" sounding Hard Rock bands that released albums in the mid 90's. I haven't heard their early stuff though. Definitely HH's material. In fact according to wikepedia "the more hard-rocking “Fly Me Courageous” topped charts and was one of the 10 most-played albums on AOR radio in 1991" According to their website, this year is the bands 25th anniversary and they will be releasing a full-length feature documentary about Drivin N Cryin. Discography: * Scarred But Smarter 1986 * Whisper Tames The Lion 1988 * Mystery Road 1989 * Fly Me Courageous 1990 * Live on Fire (EP) 1991 * Smoke 1993 * Wrapped In Sky 1995 * Drivin' 'N' Cryin' 1997 * Essential Live 1999 * Ultimate Collection 2000 * Detroit City Rock (EP) 2003 * The Great American Bubble Factory 2009 http://www.drivinncryin.com/
  11. WOW YOU POSTED!!! NERD! Got my tickets the other day Stryper or ACDC?
  12. So is anyone going along to see ACDC this month? I'm off to see them in Sydney.
  13. Agreed. That would be a cool album cover.

    Auras

Yeah Steve Perry was the first thing that came to my head when I listened to them. I'm pretty excited about this one.
  15. I don't mind Chris Cornell as a singer. I like a few Soundgarden tunes but a lot of its just too grungy.
  16. The new album 'Infestation' should be out in March. The first single 'Best Of Me' sounds very promising based on the short clip I heard. A world tour as well? Hopefully they come back to Australia.
  17. Did I mention how good 'Empty Rooms' is - bloody excellent ballad.
  18. I have to agree, whilst I don't hate the band, for some reason I could never get into their albums. Another one I tried to like but just couldn't is James Christian - both albums.
  19. Yeah, I got my signed copies of the first two albums today - not the re-issues I paid for of course. I also got the download rant article "come together" and an autographed photo of Roger and Gregory saying thanks for being a 101 South supporter. Well at least now he must realise that he was wrong to speak ill of his fans. A shame it's too late. This is one guy I will never support in the future.

    Shivai

No I haven't listened yet, it should arrive in the mail any day now. Will let you know.
  21. I just found that Kevin Bowe Walton (Indian's singer) has his own website where you can purchase all of Kevin's solo discs. You can also purchase the first Indian album though it looks like it's a re-issue with new cover art and released under the 'Kevin Walton' solo banner. The original Indian S/T album and the follow-up 'Time' must be quite rare by now. Kevin has a really good voice and based upon both the Indian S/T disc and the samples on the Kevin Walton website, I'm keen to hear more. According to the website, Kevin is in the US at the moment and will be announcing the title of a new solo album when he returns to Australia. It would be great to see him play some shows here at some point. Check out Kevin's website here The four albums available on the website are only AU$10 each. Indian (1994) Badluck Avenue (1998) Innuendo (2003) Bleeding Hearts (2005) Kevin Walton (2009)
  22. This one is actually pretty good. A bit bluesy at times with a few cool bluesy guitar ballads. A bit mellow but overall a pretty enjoyable disc and much better than I had expected. 1994, Independent Kevin Bowe Walton Vocals Mick Malusa Guitars Gary Mckay Guitars Toby Monaghan Bass Fabian Klancic Drums 1. Brave 2. Stay 3. Running Free 4. Away 5. Fingers In Your Pie 6. Soldiers Song 7. Moon On Brooklyn 8. Indian 9. Bright Lights 10. Wind That Mother
  23. I recently picked up an EP called 'Beelzebubs in Heaven' by an Aussie band called Shivai. The person I bought it from compared them to a lighter version of Skid Row. Anyone else heard of this band? Did they release anything else? What I do know about this band is that they were formed after the demise of another Aussie band called 'Serpentine' and featured Zakk Zedras of Roxus and Drogonfly on guitar. Other band members were Skye Patricks and Rexx Fernandez.
