Yeah the Danger Danger and Grand Design are essential. I haven't heard it but the China disc got some average reviews.

I ordered from CD Japan Not real cheap - about $30 Aussie dollars + postage but I couldn't wait. Apparently there's just 1 copy left - there was 3 about an hour ago. Don't know what's up with that.

It's been out in Japan for about a week now. I've placed an order on the cdjapan website. After listening to it once I'd say it's better than the debut and I shouldn't comment too much after just one spin but I'd say album of the year (so far). Yes, better than the excellent Treat - Coup De Grace.

Nah I didn't hear about the New Found Glory shows at all. As for Slash, I'm sure It'll be good, but no way am I paying big $'s to see him. I quite liked the Slash's Snakepit CD's but I'm just not interested at all really.

Powderfinger - Not a huge fan but I like them enough to go to their "farewell" show, should be fun with a few mates. I can't believe how fast they sold out. I had to resort to buying tickets for the Toowoomba show. Oh yeah and Geoff I saw your SOTY post - I'm there for sure. In fact I'm almost more excited about Saosin than SOTY. To other gig news, 1927 are announcing another national tour, most of the dates are in July I think. I can't recommend going to one of their shows highly enough.

Why do some bands make it so hard to buy their CD's - both their official website and their MySpace pages don't give any details on where/how to buy their CD's. It's almost as if they don't want to sell any.

Okay I just played their song 'Like The First Time' and man I love it!! I can't believe I haven't heard of this band until now. As others have said 'All In My Head' is a great track. Is it just the two albums these guys have put out? Where can I buy them from?

Those samples sound surprisingly good, very melodic, not the raw sounding sleaze/glam I was expecting. Another one to pick up.

Well I'm going with Treat as this years no. 1 so far, followed by Brian Howe (I do love his stuff). I haven't even got the RATT or Pretty Maids CD's yet.

Ahh ok. I didn't even know there was a re-issue. It's a pretty cool album this one. At least 5 or 6 songs that I really love, especially 'Switchblade Serenade' and 'Thru These Eyes'.

I've got a spare original that I'm happy to part with for nothing. Let me know.

I could not possibly agree with that more. I think I've touched on this before in some other thread, but I would take the studio album alone over the full studio album + bonus live tracks any single day of the week. I also truly believe it detracts from the quality and just means you have to eject the disc after the last studio track anyway. Waste of everyone's time. Amen
