Wasn't expecting anything this soon. Nice tune, definitely better than anything we heard in a long long time. Still, I miss something once again. Must be the great choruses of the 80's, the synths, the in your face Hard Rock and Jon and Richie's abilities in writing a wow song altogether. This still sounds a little too much like a standard Rock, Country Pop crossover song for my likings.

Hard to review this one. Not a bad album at all IMO. Some songs might be in the run for future recognition. Madagascar, This I Love and Street Of Dreams are the absolute highlights for me. Than come the more mellow tunes in Catcher In The Rye, Prostitute, There Was A Time, If The World. Than the more forward I.R.S. I'm not the biggest fan of the Industrial sounds, but these songs are among the best in the genre. It's not completely classic GNR, but it is the album that is most reminiscent of the old band. That what all other projects failed to do this one does. The only other work coming close is Velvet Revolver's Fall To Pieces for me.

I think the song has some potention, not a bad structure. But if it's anywhere near this version I'd say no thanks. They need to come harder.

Another new Winger album, quite the nice surprise if you ask me. For over a decade Kip never knew what to do with the fourth Winger effort, what it should be about. So when Winger IV finally hit the get go I figured the safe assumption was for this to be the last Winger album ever, or at least in a long long time. Winger IV to me was a nice addition to their catalogue. It wasn't exactly on par with previous efforts, but it wasn't bad either IMO. Unlike Europe who went all Alternative on me IV had a few classic outbursts with some decent to good tunes. I'd hold my fire on the next record. In this delusional time where next to nothing's what it's supposed to be it's still not guilty unless proven otherwise. Even if you didn't like the last one at all, the description sounds like a more trademark approach.

Sounds good so far Excellent tune. Foreigner's first studio effort since 1994. Lou Gramm's not with the band at this point, but this incarnation with Kelly Hansen on vocals sounds like it's to hit the nail on the head.

Pop music is dead. The music industry suffers an all time low in ratings. Charting means nothing these days. Let's say when actual decent music charted back in the day it sold $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ copies to secure that #1 spot where today's crap sells $$$$ to achieve the same. It doesn't make impression and will be forgotten in a month time. It's the quality that survives.

They should've just went with the fan art. If you can't beat the fan art why not use it? Don't like the official cover. I do like the old logo back in use.

Don't care for the song, don't think much of the video. But hey, they made one. This time with a little more budget than the last disc, so it's a minor promo tool. Still I consider it way too simple, and the video does nothing for the song being random. Fits the cheesy description for me, unlike what they were in the 80's/early 90's. It's definitely not helping them to get airplay, should an MTV ever being interested in playing actual music again.

Okay, I'm basically done with this thing here, but there's a new song called Gonna Get Ready that's just a tad more in the past direction IMO. Just to see what y'all think. It's a live version so should you like it, don't get excited. It'll most likely get the usual F up in Alternative production.

I did see something in Last Look based on the previous link I posted but this is just vocoder shit. Close and avoid would be my advice.

Actually noticed this one while going through Billboard's modern crap charts as I ignored initially. Where Second Chance's holding a #15 spot at the current Hot 100. Never ever did I expect to stumble upon some actual good music, good Rock music, but that's in fact what this is. Very rare for today's Pop standards and a stellar Melodic Rock album just the same. Here's to hope for a new beginning!

In the early 90s, Lonn Friend of RIP magazine fame used to pimp the hell out of that band in his mag and also during his "Friend At Large" segments on MTV's "Headbanger's Ball," but after giving them a couple of tries I failed to see what all the whoop-de-doo was about. Don't think much of them either, they're just okay. Do they even belong on the site, this section? I don't exactly recall them being an AOR/Hard Rock band. Not that it matters to me though, it's all welcome to a certain extend.

Are we all familar with the Le Baron Boys demos from 1989 BTW? A name they took as an anonymous alias to record and perform under in and around L.A. in the very late 80's/early 90's. That stuff had a slightly harder edge as well while still remaining its melody. It's kind of a rough blueprint to Prisoners with some of its songs in demo version and some completely unreleased material. Sony pulled it at the time demanding a more polished production resulting in Prisoners being released in 1991 instead of a year earlier in 1990. All the tracks unreleased you could consider the third Europe/Marcello output right in between Out Of This World and Prisoners In Paradise. I think this sound would be the right answer as to where they are as a band now. I feel Europe has abandoned their trademark, lost their identity in trying to fit in with current whereabouts. The Final Countdown, Out Of This World and Prisoners In Paradise are it for me. It's what their about, what their known and loved for, what they do best. I'd say yes, get it back. If recreating a past sound is such a sin than how come copying another which so happens to be what everyone else does is so well respected? I don't need an exact copy from any of the 3 above mentioned albums but would like to hear Europe again over any other one of today's amateur bands in sound. They should never look for a sound like all others around. First law in music, set yourself apart from all the rest of them. Diversity is what we need, it's what I've been looking for all along. Norum isn't the only guy in the band, I suppose none of the other guys have opinions anymore? Norum should accept a fair share in sayings and if he can't live with that he has an ego problem and should be replaced with Kee Marcello all over again. I'd favor him anyway, even though their both legendary players in my book.

Best image I've seen in a long time I think. Band looks, artwork etc. The 2 songs are very nice indeed in the musical department.

I'm rather skeptical myself. As far as I know they never claimed a full fledged return to their former sound with the last album though. More of an updated, slightly more melodic version of Start From The Dark. I do share your concerns nonetheless. If it's just modern, Alternative again they're just plain lying. Misleading old fans to new outputs only for utter disappointment. Not the smart thing to do if you ask me. This is the very best to possibly happen to them IMO. Prisoners In Paradise is my fave Europe album and Beau Hill an all time favorite producer. It won't though. It'll probably be some Swedisch no name on the job, too bad. Either that or self-produced I'd say.

Exactly, . He should get the clue already. Giving up your trademark to sound like everyone else out today putting out pure garbage is nothing but and not the way to go.

Last Look At Eden, a play on Prisoners In Paradise I believe. Had my doubts if this was to fit here considering their differing 00's incarnation. I don't like their comeback albums which I have publicly known. I think the new sound is unoriginal, uninteresting and irrelevant. This one however claims to make that difference. Could it mean Europe's return to glory? The above cover is fan made to illustrate its name. First sample, a live version of new song Mojito Girl echoes Le Baron Boys demos to me. Let you be the judge, thoughts on subject?

Didn't know they were back together recording so now I do. This definitely sounds promising. They seem to be one of those very few comeback bands sticking to their guns rather than trying to be something they aren't. Something I have nothing but the greatest respect for. If you ever want to succeed again thou should come as you are, therefore thou shall come the hardest.

Sadness, another great talent gone. Gregg was still so full of potential to me, he and his band never really got the big break they deserved. It's all a bit unreal to me, 2-3 days ago he logged in on that MySpace site to now learn he's no more. Shows you once more how sudden such tragedies can occur. RIP, rock on in heaven man!
