And that's a fact! Never been big on Hinder and the like before but this is just pure melodic bliss, you would almost throw it in the regular threads because it simply fits the description of this forum right? So I hear ya Geoff, as in matter a fact I think we're on the very verge of the big Melodic Rock return happening. Meaning it's about to hit big again all over the world, no longer underground but mainstream with all its chart glory returning from the past. With bands like Hinder and Nickelback going down like this, new bands forming and the current big GNR/Metallica/AC/DC happening it's gonna resurrect. Even Pop artists seem to finally pick up the Rock sound again. About time if you ask me, it's been forever since crap topped the charts.

Guess who's back y'all! Let me tell ya that this is once again exactly the way I thought you were going to respond... I would like to thank all those people here who posted their thoughts about Mariah's new album. Some good points were made along the thread... Alice Cooper's Poison is a killer tune for example... Mariah might do something with that... The new album might have some great guitar tunes. Perhaps Mariah herself does a solo as well since she is doing a great job learning to play the guitar at this moment. I know some of you are going to attack me for this one LOL! But there also might be some other professional guitarists like Dave Navarro, Eddie Van Halen or Slash to name a couple of examples. Mariah herself will of course take care of some killer vocals on these songs... Next to Rock the new album will have a lot of styles. She will go way back to the sound of her debut album and add a couple of other songs as well... To those people who don't like Mariah Carey... If you don't like her than suit yourself but I can tell you that she is an amazing talented and flawless artist! Perhaps some of you will see that when the time comes... Now I haven't got much time to do these replies but maybe I come back... To earth who can tell... ? Mike

NO! No Polka duets! People around here have a tendency to "struggle" with Polka music! Nothing good could come of that! Exaclty....as is the Idea of Mariah doing a Rock/Metal album. She doesn't have it in her. She Will NEVER be able to do even AOR,ain't gonna happen.Rock is Greasy, Dirty,Rude Loud..all the things she isn't. And on a personal note I never thought she was any thing to look at..IMO. She owns all of those aspects when she rocks out! You'll see... You obviously haven't heard her Rock songs! The sound totally comes out! For now you can listen to You Need Me in this thread! Other songs will be available for the big public in the future... And for how she looks she looks stunning! I haven't heard her Rock songs cause she ain't got any,and doing a bunchof cover tunes Doesn't qualify as a Real release...Hell anyone can do that,Plus she has just come off a big album so why change game now...cause she's really a rocker at Heart?? If so then why put out crap year after year!!! You don't understand... Rock is not the only style she likes. But she wants to add it to her music again... She did the genre at the beginning of her career as well... Just because she came off a big album it doesn't mean she has to make a copy of that record with almost the same songs and release The Emancipation Of Mimi 2! That's not the intention... Mariah doesn't want that and her fans don't want that to happen either... There are a couple of Rock songs that Mariah made but most of them never came out... And they aren't cover tunes but originals! Perhaps something for the future alongside new songs as well!

Hey there! Mariah wouldn't make these songs Hip Hop for example cause that's not the intention for this thing. She loves the 80's Metal songs just the way they are and wants to do something with that! You know she is a fan of this music. She really is! And she likes this site as well... For the record, I'll definitely check it out. It would be one of those things I would want to hear at least once. Even if I hated it I could speak intelligently (or as close as I get at any rate) about it. I don't think I believe she's a fan of the site though... She likes this site! You can find some good information on several albums from artists regarding the styles of this site!

There's no cause to be offensive to her! Although I expected this would happen... Some people just aren't ready for this! It's a good thing that it's a different story in the real artists world... Give her a break... She has a good voice to sing Rock songs as well! I'm calling her arrogant for good reason. My wife used to work for Planet 24 production company over at Canary Wharf she had the "misfortune" (her words not mine) to meet her a couple of times. She apparently thinks that because she has fame/money she can treat people like sh*t. For example my wife watched as she called over one of her lackies demanded he/she hold her hand out, then took the gum she was chewing out of her mouth and put it in their waiting hand...fuckin' disgusting!! If she had done it to me in two seconds flat she would have been pulling it out of her hair. She said she was a complete prima donna who threatened to pull the interview a number of times because she wasn't getting her own way. Jeez I have no time for people like that with that kind of attitude. The second time she met her again she was still walking around like she owned the world full of her own self importance. My wife also said she had to deal with quite a few "arseh*les" during her time with the company but she was by far the worst. Also in my opinion she has a pretty mediocre voice, but then mediocrity seems to sell these days. She's hardly Aretha Franklin. As for leaving the thread for what it is...I don't see too many falling over themselves to praise her musical ability more seem to be praising her tits! Hmmm! Guess I'm not over keen on her. Well, was it really that bad? I know her as well... And she usually doesn't behave like that!

Yes, it's the intention that she makes an album like that again... Her debut album is also a very versatile album. The new album is intended to sound more 80's again just like that! After all that is the best music around! And where the scene is heading towards again now in the mid 00's in 2006. That music is the music of the future!

LOL! This is exactly what I was expecting... In my opinion this would be a very cool thing to do! Why have that many prejudices? She likes this music as well. And this site... I was just trying out some different sites on the internet about what are people's thoughts. Otherwise she ends up making the same songs over and over again... She likes her current styles but wants to add a few others as well. And the first one in line is Rock! Like those artists I mentioned above. She likes that the most next to her current styles. She did it back in the day as well. In the 80's. There are a lot of Rock songs that you don't know from Mariah. Because most of them were unreleased to date... I don't know if you've ever listened to her debut album for example. But listen to this Rock song! It's called You Need Me... Mariah Carey - You Need Me

For her next album Mariah's thinking about to add some different styles to her numbers. So next to the Pop, R&B, Hip Hop and a little Gospel which she is known for the last couple of years she thinks to ad Rock again. Rock was awesome in the 80's and to say it rude sucked in the 90's but now it's coming back. Those styles in Rock are AOR like Toto, Foreigner, Journey, Roachford, Heart and others. The so called Hair Metal from Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Europe, Whitesnake, Saraya etcetera. And the Sleaze Glam or Hard Rock like Guns N' Roses, Living Colour, Mötley Crüe, Blondie and some Janet Jackson songs as well. So now is the time to relaunch it again. Back in the day she did a combination of the above mentioned genres too. Think about Fade Away from her pre-record deal years and You Need Me from her debut album. There also might be some reaggae influences on some of the tracks. What do you think about this? I think it will be cool as it shows how diverse she is as an artist. She also likes all of these genres so why not sing them too.
