  1. This is an official release from 1991 on the Polaris label and it is high quality hard rock / glam with big hooks and backing vocals.....good stuff. The seller, Shun is a very honest and credible collector whom I have dealt with for a number of years.......not to worry about him!!! Delbert
  2. Wow....this has been a read!!! I got the original message from a David Holdaway with a notification of an accident a couple of days ago. Soon thereafter, received an e mail from Georg Siegl about his thoughts. I recall Lonnie contacted me back in the fall wanting to sell me his CD collection. He had a pretty impressive list that he sent. He said he wanted to sell it as a whole lot and was contacting E Bay sellers who he thought would be interested in buying it and then reselling.....problem is, as most ugly capitalist know, you buy cheap and sell for more......In this case, he was wanting close to the going rate for everything. I passed........... Now, as I read all this, and especially the posts that were alledgedly written by "David", I am assuming that there actually are two different individuals here. Any of you who have had previous contacts with Lonnie know that he always speaks and communicates in a rather "street" talk fashion......."Hey Dude" and "what yah think man". As I read what is alledgedly written by "David" I do not see the same style of writing and use of vocabulary. This makes me think there are actually two different people here. It will certainly be interesting to see and hear how this all plays out. One thing is certain.....CD collectors have been roused from their sleep and will be alert for a little while for cons and scams. Something on the order of 911......now, time has put things back to almost business as usual!!!!
  3. and today..... apt2rl I have contacted E Bay already Delbert
  4. I really hate to hear about people getting ripped off by these scam artists on E Bay.......I too have been victimized by these con artists for some huge money (I've posted several times of these experiences). All we can do is continue to pass the word and keep everyone on their tip toes........ Thanks for all the info!!
  5. Jim....I am in total agreement with you. I have said it many times previously......with all the technology in place.....and with all the hype that E Bay and Paypal spew concerning protection of buyers and sellers on E Bay.......why is it that someone can just register a new ID over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over......USING THE SAME NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER........ The message sent to the masses in this regard, in spite of all the hype, is that E Bay and Paypal are more interested in the $$$$ they receive to their coffers than any protection or controlled bidding environment!!!!! Delbert
  6. Jake.....first sorry I got you confused with your brother....I always used to do that because you both would e mail me many times in the past.......in fact, one of you won the very first Lost And Found CD I ever found about 4 or 5 years ago, remember that one? About that Oslo.....unfortunately, I am also a looker too.....I have only a CDR in my collection and I'm sure that is going to be a real tough one to land. But.....that's the fun of collecting. Tracking down those real obscurities, right?
  7. Hey Josh.......you reminded me of a cool story. That Friction - Baby Talk CD I sold a couple of years ago for over $600.........I was in a used record store in St. Louis that was basically filled with vinyl. The CDs he had were mostly new stuff. I asked the owner if he had a bargain bin and he pointed to a box on the floor and said "that's all the bargains". I started going through the box which had $1.00 each written on the box. It was littered with the most outrageous junk I've ever looked at.....except for one jewel I pulled out......that awesome "Friction - Baby Talk CD"!!!!! My hands were shaking when I pulled it out and quickly carried it to the checkout with my dollar in hand......I almost ran out of the store after paying for it in the event they decided to change their minds and chase me down......LOL!!!!! I had no idea what it would sell for, but I was at a St Louis Blues hockey game the night the auction ended. When I got home from the game and saw the final selling price I was speechless to say the least.... One of my better hunting experiences......... Delbert
  8. You know.....I was sitting around thinking about how people like Arwine continually "defraud" others over the internet as if it were a playful "game" and the nice track record he has made for himself online at E Bay and here on this board. Anyone who has become a victim of his activities would have standing to file an INTERNET FRAUD COMPLAINT about his activities which appear to have now become "criminal". His intent has been clearly shown in his "documented track record" and I think that this is the type of person who would draw interest with the authorities. Much of their work would have already been done in preparing a prosecution because he has volunteered so much online already to E Bay. Those records would be obtained very quickly and easily for any prosecution. As an added thought.......anyone who was actually defrauded by this guy would certainly have standing to file a lawsuit against him in the venue of their own home state. He would either have to appear to defend the suit or lose out for failure to appear.....LOL!!!! Oh my.....I can think of all sorts of things to befall an individual playing in territory he never imagined.........
  9. Tim, I appologize for the "going off on a tangent" remark. I guess that got inserted in there after reading some of the other postings that seemed to indicate to me that this was not a legitimate auction. I certainly didn't infer that you were doing that. Hope it all works out smoothly for you. Delbert
  10. First off....let's forget this shill bidding senario in this instance. Do a quick search of all the auctions bid on by ncrrl using the E Bay bidder search and you will see that this bidder is all over the place.....typical Arwine bidding as Whiplash pointed out. Second.....rockcityaor is Richie Gallas in Australia and I've traded, sold, bought and just been friends with Richie for years. As Andy pointed out, Richie has been a part of the AOR collecting scene for a long long time. What has happened here is most likely what was pointed out earlier.......ncrrl has bid up the item and then sent off his classic e mail as Whiplash pointed out with his sad sad story as usual. Here's my suggestion to TDRough......respond to rockcityaor via e mail if you are still interested in the second chance CD and tell him that you are certain that ncrrl is a known dead beat bidder named James Arwine who repeats this process continually. Offer rockcityaor a compromise bid for the item and see if he is willing to accept that. Hey, this is just like any other business....make an offer. He can only accept or refuse!!! Once you have a chance to talk and negotiate back and forth you may reach an agreement that is suitable to both of you. But please.....don't jump off on a tangent right away and think that this guy is shill bidding because of something beyond his control......... One final thought......pertaining to those CDs you won as high bidder (due to ncrrl forcing the item to be bid upward)....you are going to be obligated to pay for those items at the price you won them for..... You were not forced to bid higher than what you fully intended to pay. You could have stopped bidding at anytime.....you won the item at the price YOU WERE WILLING TO PAY, so don't try to negotiate those items with rockcityaor......he is already obligated to pay E Bay a commission based on that final price for each item and that is basically the rules of the auction. So, you would only be negotiating the price of that second chance offer you received. Good Luck!
  11. James....I have to agree with you. Tony and Dave are not only knowledgeable and reliable sellers, which is very important these days, but both are amiable fellows who are always ready to share their knowledge and love of CD collecting!! I've swapped stories and discs with Tony more so than Dave, but, I've heard good things from other collectors as well about these two dashing Canucks!!!
  12. Well.....here's another so called questionable reissue label that has popped out of the woodwork. Won't be long and everyone will have their own reissue label working in their bedrooms cranking out fantastic titles to put up on E Bay........ http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZheartbrother2 Check out the name of his label.......... I notice everything he is selling is "reissued" copies....... some are even MAJOR label.
  13. Hey Dave.....I generally refer to that big pine forest north of the Great Lakes as "Kooglesville"......LOL!!!! Delbert
  14. Dieter.....thanks for the information on this guy. I have not dealt with him myself, and from the sound of what you are telling us, I don't want to deal with him..... Delbert
  15. Everyone.......that $$$ is Canadian Dollars, not USD!!!! The CD was actually cheaper when I purchased it directly from the band than what it would have cost to get it from CD Baby............. When you do the PAYPAL thing, it converts to Canadian dollars. It ended up costing me $11.00 with shipping. One other thing to consider.......CD Baby has been out of stock for quite awhile.......you know how things go in this business.....buy it now or take a chance in losing out all together......there's no guarantee they will get it back in stock. I've seen it happen before. I've also seen the new stock increase in price dramatically when the band finds out there is a demand!!!!
  16. Check out these MP3 samples of the Fraze Gang CD....... BLOW ME AWAY SAVIOR BROKEN HERO SUGAR DADDY PARADISE HIGH LIFE HOT ROD The band has a web site up in "Kooglesville" (Canada) and you can order their CD directly from them and pay with PAYPAL.......FRAZE GANG WEB PAGE They say it is available from CD Baby as well, but, they haven't had it for quite a long time.......
  17. Just an old man's hunch, but, it looks to me like he's primed and ready to go once again..... everwood2006 Watch this one real close!!!
  18. ..........and here he is..................... .......and again....... .,......and her too.......
  19. Really makes you wonder about the "fair Trade" stuff we hear about in the USA all the time????? People send us stuff from all over the planet and 99.9% of the time, it is never opened at customs, we NEVER pay a tax on it and yet, if the USA decides to tax steel, electronics or some other imported product to help equalize prices with American made products, we are called down by the rest of the world for "unfair" trade practices or worse yet, protectionism........ I think the USA is the only place on Earth where you don't have to pay a tax on something that someone sends you from another country!!!!
  20. Yep....I recall reading that thread Dan had posted......it's always good to keep reminders out there lest we get clumsy!!!!
  21. Had an experience this evening that I couldn't let go by without alerting as many people as possible.......... I had just performed a search on E Bay for AOR Indie CDs under the music catagory. The search returned 232 listings fitting my search request. As I was scrolling down, I came across a cover that I had never seen before (to be honest, it was a naked chick on the cover) and it looked killer. I clicked on the listing and a screen popped up requesting I log into E Bay..........whoa!!!!! I was logged in and the page had some different looking fonts that appeared just a tad larger than what I am accustomed to seeing. I looked at the URL of the page I was on and instead of Ebay, I was on a web site in 'RUSSIA'........That's right boys and girls.......a phishing scheme right on E Bay and if you all aren't careful, you may do what I almost did and give up your e Bay ID and password to some maggot!!! The moral to this storey.........don't assume anything on the web...........S-L-O-W ..... D-O-W-N and look things over before entering your critical data on any web page........I almost got sucked in. Delbert
  22. No truer statement could ever be made......they can blow all the smoke they want about how they are protecting everyone and making a safe trading environment, but, everything is carefully executed in a manner to portray dilegence on their part, but, also designed with the bottom line in mind!!!! With all their bells and whistles the ring and blow, any low IQ individual would begin to wonder why there has NEVER been any system in place to prevent the "re enlisters" who have been previously suspended?????
  23. My question is......why should anyone even leave feedback.....what is the whole purpose of this feedback thing anyway???? If it isn't a tool to be used to make a decision as to whether you want to transact with an individual....(if you leave me negative feedback, I'm going to leave you negative feedback!!) Here's a suggestion: Why not just leave feedback for sellers? After all, a seller doesn't have any "prior" opportunity to decide if he wants to transact with a buyer before an auction ends. Some people (me included) wait to bid at the last moment many times. The auction is over and the seller looks at the buyer's feedback and it isn't that wonderful!!! What do you do now? Buyers, on the other hand, are deciding if placing a bid is too risky with the seller based upon his feedback left by other buyers well in advance of the auction ending. A true assessment can be made using the feedback posted!! And....as far as buyers go....... if a buyer doesn't pay for an item or follow the auction's instructions. The seller issues a "strike" to E Bay. The first time you get a strike......don't do it again. The second time you get a strike......suspension for X number of weeks.....Strike Three and it's bye bye....... And I mean "BYE BYE". In this day and age of technology, E Bay can have all sorts of checks and balances in place when a person registers to flag someone who tries to re register. When a flag comes up, the registration process is put on hold and additional information must be supplied to E Bay to confirm or clear the re registering buyer...... Arwine...Andersen.....Riesing and all the others!!!
  24. Nightwish "End Of An Era" This has one of the finest productions of any live music CD I've watched EVER!!! Make sure your sound is prime and drop in the disc.........fantastic pyrotechnics and awesome camera work with some of the finest sound quality I've seen and heard. With the right viewing equipment, you'll think you're in front row (only better!!!). Even those who are not really into power metal can appreciate the quality of this release..............
