  1. Lonnie.....I actually had E Bay remove some of my listings because I indicated in the description that I will accept cash payments and Western Union payments.......... I got the notification from E Bay that they had removed my listings for violation of E Bay policy........ They actually scanned the descriptions for keywords like "cash" and "Western Union"
  2. Never a more "right on the mark" statement uttered on planet earth.................. I actually told them....essentially that, when I was on the phone with them!!!
  3. Hey Andy, Thanks!! ....there's tons of great buyers, traders and sellers out there......you've always been a great buyer along with innumerable other guys (& gals too). Just everyone once in awhile, a bad apple pops up and takes the "fun" out of all this. My problem....it always seems they get me for hundreds at a time instead of 5 or 6 bucks!!!! LOL!!! Anyway.......it's always a good idea to pass around a "heads up" on some of these characters inorder to help protect ourselves..........
  4. Back in April, I had a pretty decent E Bay auction and sold one of the rarest pieces I've come across in ages from a Colorado band called THRILL STREET "Peep Show". The auction winner was Jean Andersen of Toronto, Canada who formerly went by the E Bay name of "11jean11" until Tony (Koogles) got him booted for some non payments. Then, he whined and cried because he got booted and I even went to bat for him as a reference to try and get back on E Bay........(somebody beat me with a 2 X 4, please!!!!) He then started using the e bay ID "bina.g" and won the Thrill Street CD in my auction for $391.25. The guy sends me $391.25 by paypal and doesn't even include the postage.......... Good ole Delbert says "hey, this guy just dropped some big $$$, I'll pay the postage for him". I mail the CD using Global Priority Mail with tracking and the post office department web site shows it was delivered to him 5 days later. "wonderful!!!!" ........... at least that is what I thought!! May 4 rolls around and I get the dreadful Paypal Email telling me they are investigating the transaction for possible fraud and the payment is being put into escrow......... The awful day arrived on June 13......PAYPAL notified me they had completed the investigation of the transaction and they had reversed the payment. My telephone call to PAYPAL was like talking to a box of rocks......"they were so sorry, but privacy policy prevented them from revealing the nature of the transaction reversal" (HEY BOYS, I'M A PARTY TO THIS TRANSACTION!!!) They 'suggested' I contact Jean Andersen and have him explain the problem. And.....I emailed Jean and talked to him on the phone several times and all I ever got from him was I don't have your money.....I checked with my bank and they don't know anything about it....... I told Jean if I didn't get my money sent to me using Western Union by Monday, July 10, I was going to notify E Bay that he was a suspended user using another account and further that I would tell everyone on planet Earth about how he conducts business. His response was "I'll send you back your CD". I told him I had already paid an E Bay commission on that transaction, E Bay listing fees, Paypal fees and postage to send the CD to him and I would not settle for that.....I wanted my money!! bina.g is no longer a registered user on E Bay ............ If you choose to do business with this guy, just remember....everything may be just wonderful (as it appeared with me, because I had sold him many CDs), however........be aware of his true nature!!!! Delbert
  5. Dan Just as a bit of info.......when I pay with paypal and have a positive account balance, the default payment method is my paypal account balance. If I do not have a positive balance in my paypal account, the payment is then defaulted to my bank account. However, I always have the option to select the "Payment Source" whether it be deducted from my paypal account, bank account or credit card on file with paypal. Delbert
  6. As a seller myself on E Bay, my first thought is "big huge NO NO when you do not reply to e mail inquiries". For the life of me, I cannot understand why people will not reply to inquiries.......... If it is too much of a hassle......THEN DON'T SELL OR BUY ON E BAY. Communication is the #1 tool for a successful and easy transaction. Just my thoughts on the matter.............
  7. Latest E Bay ID is rlguy46 ....... he ripped off Terge over at Rock Of Norway with his standard...."Sorry, I got such and such troubles and ran out of cigarettes and there's no beer in the house and my mother won't let me come out and play or go to the post office and I won't be able to pay you" !!!!!!!!
  8. Japanese Plastic.........a mylar sleeve that seals on on end which was made in Japan.!!!! Most normal collectors use them to preserve the finish on their jewel cases or digi pak releases.....
  9. Most of you know there has always been a double standard on Evil bay (E Bay). Those sellers who are high volume and make lots of money for E Bay continually violate E Bay's policies with nary a warning word spoken to them..... The average "Joe Blow" however can commit the most minor infraction and reap the rath of the Ebay Police...... Example: I recently posted concerning a new policy the prohibits sellers from encouraging buyers to pay with cash or use off line money transfer services, specifically "Western Union". Two weeks ago, I was listing some items and E bay removed my listing telling me that it violated their "sellers policy". I had to change language in my listing and remove references to accepting cash and Western Union...... Back on January 4, I purchased two CDs from a seller using buy it now. I immediately paid with PAYPAL and waited almost 6 weeks for my CDs to arrive. I e mailed the seller to inquire about my CDs and the seller told me they were on BACKORDER and had not arrived. I told the seller that E Bay sellers policy required them to sell the item that I had won. The seller in turn, refunded my payment after 6 weeks. I wrote back and told the seller I did not request a cancellation, that I in fact wanted my product per e bay policy. The seller did not comply. I filed a complaint with E Bay on Feb 24. You can look at the seller's feedback and see that they are still very much in business and are continuing their same activity unbridled. This seller has more negative feedback than any I've ever seen and all for basically the same offense. Not having the product availabe they are offering to sell. Now, as I see it, this seller is using other people's money for 4 to 6 weeks or more and then returning it. Paypal's money market is now paying around 2.50% and banks are offering CDs in the 4.00 +% range. With the volume this seller is doing, they are making money just keeping other people's money in their paypal account for over a month and returning it to them. This is the sort of activity that provokes class action suits against E Bay, PayPal and other giant corporations who are unresponsive. Here is the link to the seller's feedback........... http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...erid=moviedogpd Shame on me for not looking at the seller's feedback closely before making this purchase. Had I done so, I would have saved myself some grief.
  10. http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/safe-p...nts-policy.html oops.......forgot to add the link.
  11. Found it....read down toward the bottom of the page under "Policy" and then the paragraph that starts with "Not permitted on E Bay.com"......
  12. Last night I was relisting a few CDs that didn't sell in my past two auctions. The first was a Japanase pressing of Megadeth's "Peace Sells, But Whose Buying". In my item description, I had listed that I accept cash (at the buyer's risk), Western Union and Bidpay besides the regular money orders and Paypal. After I clicked to upload to E Bay, I got a message that the listing was rejected and a box came up at the bottom of the page with an E bay policy stating that effective Feb 22, 2006 sellers could no longer promote accepting cash payments or payments made off line such as Western Union because it promoted fraudulent sales.......there was also a note that said it had been effective in December, however, E Bay suspended enforcement until after the Christmas holidays !!!????? There was also another box that said my item was rejected because I had indicated the CD was a JAP w/OBI. The box said that new e bay policy forbids the use of deroggatory terms such as "jap" and others. I had to change my listing to reflect Japan w/OBI and also eliminated the notice that I accept cash payments and Western Union. After I had done that, the listing was accepted as normal. I've been searching E Bay to try and find this policy, but, so far, haven't found it......it has to be there somewhere.....
  13. Just as a side note.....e bay has a new policy that forbids sellers from requesting cash payments or outside money transfers such as Western Union.....!!! It is suppose to discourage fraudulent sellers. And yes, I do see now that he does ship worldwide. What's so puzzling here as well....he is selling in British Sterling and focusing his sales to Great Britian.....strange behavior in my opinion.
  14. Here's a seller on E Bay with (0) feedback who claims to be in Hawaii and sells only to Great Britian. His auctions are for two identical Frontier - You Got To Believe CDs and he accepts only cash....... Wow.....flags and whistles all over the place..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...=ADME:B:SS:US:1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...=ADME:B:SS:US:1
  15. Wow...I just signed on here and saw the post.....I am totally flattered by all your comments. (Couldn't find that smiley with the red blushing face though!!!) I'm sure we could start a huge thread with all the good sellers (we have one for the baddies.....LOL!!) And I've just got to say, Tony (Koogles) has went out of his way to play stuff on the phone for me to hear and just spend time chatting about music....that's what makes certain sellers/collectors enjoyable. There's many more of you out there that have e mailed or called and we've swapped stories, music and thoughts. And James (Staryder1), thanks for being a faithful customer, without guys like you bidding in my auctions, all the steam would be gone from my collecting. I love you all....you're what makes collecting and selling so much fun!!!
  16. I'm a great fan of Dougie White....loved his stuff with Midnight Blue, Chain and Rainbow and now....CORNERSTONE!!! Actually, there's some good ones there. Jeff Scott Soto has always had that "benchmark melodic Rock Voice" that could make any band sound 10 times better....one of my all time favs.......then of course, Joe. I really liked his recent gig with Brazon Abbot and his memorable solos. His growls and range are tops!! It was a tough choice for sure. Delbert
  17. Iordan....you can also go to your post office and file a claim .... you will first have to do a trace on the Money order to determine if it has been cashed. Then you can file a claim after that is verified. I did it once a couple of years ago after I ordered some CDs from a fellow in California and he never sent them. Just another avenue you can explore! Delbert
  18. Two words can describe it........"absolutely horrible"......don't waste your time. This album has nothing in common with "Ecstasy", other than the musicians who played on it....... I made the awful mistake of tracking it down and paying some steep money for it only to find out it was painful to listen to and nothing like their highly regarded CD. I think most people who are familiar with it will utter the same opinion....... Delbert
  19. Yep.....exact same M.O. with my friend selling on E Bay.....Paypal reversed his payment after the CDs had been mailed. No money......No CDs......my friend was just "OUT" !!!! If it wasn't for the few message boards, such as this one, to keep buyers and sellers alerted to these scammers, there would be even more victims........... Please, everyone, continue to make us all aware of these people. Whether you are a buyer, seller, trader or all three, dissemination of this information to all is the only sure way to protect one another! Delbert
  20. Mike....thanks for the link to see how this auction reads. The way I see this, there is some fault to be assumed on both sides of this issue. Let me explain....... The auction number 4811376862 clearly states will ship "worldwide". But, you must read the entire auction description which also says " IF OUTSIDE U.S. PLEASE EMAIL BEFORE YOU BID FOR SHIPPING COSTS!!!!!!" The reference to "US only" has to do with the shipping fee of $4.99........ There is also the following line in the description.........."flat shipping is for US only outside US will have additional charges" YOU HAVE TO READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTIONS WHEN PLACING BIDS!!!! On the other side of the coin.....those are some outrageous fees being charged for shipping & etc..... And as for sending a different item....that is a definite NO NO. Did you pay with PAYPAL....if you received a different item....file a claim with paypal and E Bay. Just because this seller wants to try and "Punish" you for failing to completely read and follow his directions, doesn't give him the right to substitute the product. I guess the lesson learned here is to completely read the auction descriptions and know there are some real "nasty people" to be encountered on ebay. Thanks for the tip on this "nasty" tempered seller.....I'll certainly avoid him even though I would only require shipping to the USA. I can't understand why people can't at least be civil and try to be understanding when someone makes a mistake!
  21. Per chance, could you give us the auction numbers so we can see it.......????
  22. Another red flag is in his feedback.......he bid on a Pittsburg Steelers hat........not too many people from Houston or San Fransico are bidding on Pittsburg Steelers hats these days.......Now someone from the Red Lion, PA area would certainly have an interest!!!!! m-m-m-m-m.............
  23. Oliver.......immediately report this to your credit card company. The charges should be removed from your credit card and charged back to this dubious seller. DO NOT just accept the charges!!!!! Most credit card companies protect you from this sort of thing. I'm sure they operate in Germany much the same way as they do in the States......
