  1. Second best of his albums behind the classic debut.
  2. It's a monster album. VERY consistent and a step up again from the debut. Love these guys. 10 tracks - no fillers, but quite modern in plces (which I love).
  3. No one has ever got a "headstart" because of name, history, members etc... I may have higher expectations due to the above, but doesn't give anyone a free ride if the music ain't there and at one time or another I think most of my heroes have disappointed me at least once (some more). And Zach - Eric Martensson is a genius without doubt!
  4. The posts here are an interesting read. I'd like to add two points. I believe I have ALWAYS been very careful when awarding a "perfect" score. We can all argue what makes anything perfect, or if that's possible at all.....but in 15 years of reviews, I've only given 15 or so titles that 100% mark. Not many! I love writing reviews, as much as they are a pain in the ass and I hope everyone reads a little of the text. The majority seem to love the points/scores, but the devil is in the detail PS. One more 100% to come for 2012. Next year with the new MR site, I am changing the criteria somewhat. If I don't, I'll have to give out 110s before too long....it's ncie to see the geneal level or quality rising back up over the years.
  5. Very guilty NT! And yes, there will be new ways for artists to make money I hope.
  6. They have been tracked and it's being delt with - although it's a very complicated situation in this case. But I agree....and fucker leaking new releases before the due date is scum and folks - the scene is SERIOUSLY suffering. Behind the scenes there is a lot of bean counting going on and there isn't much to go around. Watch for some to cut back in the next months. Many already have. I've only done 1 release this year.....John Kivel has only done 1 or 2...Lion are cutting back to every other month....
  7. It's just a killer rock album. With layers and layers of stuff to get into.
  8. Another one of the good guys in this business who will never get back the $ that he put into making this record, but is in it for the love of it.
  9. Chris is awesome...he's almost done with album 3. Will preview a new track on MRCD10 nxt month. Great guy too.
  10. New album is on the way. David Pratter is back helping out too. Preview from the album in on MRCD9. Brett rules!
  11. It's heavier than Bonrud's debut...but groovier too. Lots of shred. Some melodic stuff also akin to the debut. I hope all will be happy with it. A lot of time and work went into it from Paul and Keith.
  12. Classic Doubt we will ever hear new music though. Bummer.
  13. Awesome, glad the album is being recieved well. Totally in love with it. But for more melodic fans - wait until you hear the Jimi Jamison!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Neither of the bonus tracks match the quality of the album tracks. The best is definitely still to come!
  15. Private Sessions is the new album - it's killer. Same as Halestorm - which is a monster.
  16. It must be a special day. I'm honored.
  17. Yeah, for sure. Changing that ALL up with the new site
  18. Yeah, that got up my nose badly for a long time...i think some people just look for any hook to hang their opinion on - to make it look like mine couldn't be right. But these days I'm more accepting of the barbs... My favourite is always the "I've always agreed with you, BUT....now I disagree...blah blah"... as if one review now changes their opinion entirely. I mean if I review 200 albums a year for 15 years.....there's going to be a few disagreements!!!!
  19. Well as long as the reviews keep giving enough insight to help people choose what they buy, then who cares about the idiots who disagree about the scoring? Everyone will have a different score for everything, the important thing is to still be objective. The review of Journey told me enough to know I wouldn't like it, and I didn't! I disagreed with the score but at least the review was insightful and detailed enough to stop me buying something I wouldn't have liked. Keep it up! Thanks Tim, that's all that counts for me! Appreciate the feedback.
  20. Always love to get shit for loving an album. Never gets old I am a SAMMY fan through and through, but still, I love this CD and just got thru playing it again. Some great energy. 2011 had Journey's Eclipse. 2012 is Van Halen's turn. Controversy abound!!!
  21. New WW album is absolutely amazing! Really consistent...keyboard lovers paradise. Right out of 1985.
  22. He does and he is! Next up Eclipse new album and Jimi Jamison solo album he's writing (not as heavy as Toby's album). Plus there is The Friday Nights for pop/nu breed fans... Love this guy! And how good does WET still sound?
  23. Yep, it's a killer....to me...and the vast amount of feedback via e-mail agrees (which is good for NR fans...)
  24. But surely if you have never been a Warrant fan but loved this boring release, you can understand why Warrant fans for the most part are disappointed. It had very little going for it as a Warrant album, and is very weak as a melodic rock album. Song writing was sub par at best. I've read nothing but high praise all over the place for the album. This is the first negative I've heard.
