I had the same conversation last week with a guy from work. I wouldn't say Steve Jobs is to blame, but most of what JBJ said was right on the money. I can recall saving up my pocket money for 5 - 6 weeks to buy an LP (yeah my folks were tight lol) then getting to the record store and finding they'd sold out of the album I was planning to buy.

Well it turns out some went to me and then everything else went to a local second hand shop. I bought a Satriani 12" Always With Me, Always With You clear vinyl single and a bunch of CDs as well. I remember he had Vain promos singles for $1.....

For me I regret buying CDs (rare or not) only for them to be remastered/reissued 2-3 years later. Very frustrating especially when the reissues then retail for half of the price you paid for the originals.

I love the first 3 albums, but In Heat doesn't do a thing for me. I know a lot of fans rate this is as their fav, but to me it's very average.

Back on topic - Duran Duran rules! Geoff - Bon Jovi These Days 1995 - I bought my last BJ CD in 1994 - maybe there's some connection there.....scary!

Nah Geoff, Duran was more early 80's.....the stuff you're referring to was probably more late 80's - early 90's. The fact that you'd never heard John Parr's 'Man In Motion' would also make sense now that you've never heard Duran. For some reason I got the impression you were an authority on all things 80's...

I've got CDRs that are 15 years old are are still ok. What are you doing to them that they are only lasting 3-4 years??? As far as the artwork goes, a friend and I compared the Unruly Child debut and there was a panel missing from the booklet. It made no sense because every other detail was spot on. Well the print quality was poorer than the original but that is to be expected.

I remember reading a great article in Classic Rock (maybe) about a guy and his horror when he found his girlfriend's CD collection and how she wanted to display her 20-30 CDs with his! I read this in the early days of my relationship with my then girlfriend (now my wife) and it was spot on the money! As for reasons, if they're not music lovers then most people are content with owning 30 CDs, most of which are greatest hits or various artists comps. Some may also think it's something you should grow out of. The older I get, the less time I have to listen to CDs. So I'm really careful about what I buy because I need to justify that purchase to myself.

Geoff, apparently they need to be re-recorded because there is a hum or buzz throughout the recordings. Basically, you can't polish a poo....

It's funny that all members of Mr. Big have been here in some capacity over the last 15 years. I know Billy has done at least 2 clinic tours (I saw these), Pat once (saw this), Paul once (missed it) and Eric in concert in 2007 which was AMAZING! Agreed Mr. Big would be great and would draw a massive crowd!

Mate i never knew of a possible R.Emmett tour in the 90's.Now that is one gig i would check out. Yep, it was advertised and then cancelled - massive let down!

Another one for the list....I remember Rik Emmett cancelled in the last 90's just before tickets went on sale.... Sad stuff

I'd personally like to thank my fellow co-promoters Andrew at melodicrock.com, the guys at Vagabond Entertainment, as well as Jean and the band for trying all endeavours to make this show happen. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, it’s not possible at this time. We are all hopeful that a show will be possible in the future. So it wasn't postponed due to ticket sales, but due to personal circumstances????? Andrew, so what do you mean "no one cares"???? Are you upset that no one replied to Andre's statement? The reality is that there are probably no more than a dozen Aussies who actually post in this thread...

You mean lack of ticket sales means this has fallen through? This is an all too familiar story with these 'one off' type shows. People from around the country are nervous to book flights and accomodation in case the show falls through. People are putting off buying tickets so they don't get stung with non-refunable flights etc. Catch 22 - bummer for those who were going to attend!
