Yeah, as jondavis mentioned above, Gary Moore's "Still Got The Blues" and "After Hours" are pure quality, as is the "Muddy Water Blues" album by Paul Rodgers. There's an incredible line-up of guitarists on that one.

Of course you can't mention Paul Rodgers without mentioning "Bad Company".

Although, if you're talking about a true example of Blues combined with Hard Rock, then this scene from the movie "Crossroads", featuring Steve Vai as the Devil's guitarist is UNBELIEVABLE. 

A bit of a "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" vibe.

Great movie BTW.
