UPDATE FROM RETROSPECT RECORDS

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. Just a quick update. Picking up 12 new releases from the plant today! Keep your eyes on the website.

Rocklahoma last week was our most successful one yet. Although they ditched the majority of 80s bands in favor of modern bands , the Rok veterans enjoyed our bands and everyone had a blast. I still think younger people are closed-minded about the "classic" sound but that's just my opinion.

Next week we're off to the coveted M3 festival in Maryland to support our band MASS and sell our wares to the 80s fanatics!

We are confirmed for the biggest 80s festival of the year! Rock n America fest in Oklahoma City in the third week of July. Have you seen the line-up? 3 days of hair metal mania! We'll be bringing in Wildstreet , The Glitter Boys and Firstryke as well as hosting a vendor spot.

Speaking of Wildstreet , here's a promo video for their new song "Cocked n Ready"

Staying busy , will keep you updated when all this madness calms down.

oh and i forgot to mention the band with the strangest name on our roster:

KABLAMACHUNK

New York based band from the late 80's / early 90's. With some unreleased tracks produced by Albert Bouchard. Coincidentally, the drummer from this band went on to work with Albert's BRAIN SURGEONS project.

ROCK ON!

Other than that don't ask me what there doing they did a little video of them signing contract and it doesn't include John 5 so he's not really part of Motley he's a hired gun..  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3iDklwv1PI&t=2s

    • Not much information on the video's page, other than it appears to be an AI creation. Once it gets into the verse and especially the chorus, it's actually not too bad IMO.
    • While I appreciate your interest in contributing to the site, most of the artists and albums you are submitting are either REALLLLLLY stretching the boundaries, or as in the case of this band, completely off the mark. No alternagrunge. No punk. No death metal/power metal (although those can be submitted to Brutal Metal). You can always start a thread asking about a particular artist before blindly submitting it for inclusion. Thanks! -Dan
    • New single 'Symphony Of Life'.
    • Video for 'We Must Make A Stand'.
    • DEEP PURPLE Announces New Album '=1' - BLABBERMOUTH.NET DEEP PURPLE, one of the greatest and most influential rock bands of all time, will release a new album, "=1", on July 19 via earMUSIC. "=1" is the band's first album with sensational guitarist Simon McBride, who seamlessly slotted in when longtime member Steve Morse left due to personal circumstances. Since 2022, Simon has already played to DEEP PURPLE audiences totalling more than half a million people. ith three consecutive No. 1 albums in their back pocket and a resurgent new energy powering them forward, this is DEEP PURPLE at their pinnacle. "Now WHAT?!" (2013),"inFinite" (2017) and "Whoosh!" (2020) have sold over one million copies worldwide, making DEEP PURPLE one of the most successful rock bands currently active. The latest studio album, "Whoosh!", reached No. 1 on the album charts in seven countries and charted in the top 10 in another 12. "=1" track listing: 01. Show Me 02. A Bit On The Side 03. Sharp Shooter 04. Portable Door 05. Old-Fangled Thing 06. If I Were You 07. Pictures Of You 08. I'm Saying Nothin' 09. Lazy Sod 10. Now You're Talkin' 11. No Money To Burn 12. I'll Catch You 13. Bleeding Obvious In 2022 came the sad news of Steve Morse's departure due to personal circumstances, but DEEP PURPLE, never a band to let a set back throw them off course, sought out the masterful skills of guitarist Simon McBride and played the year out in style, exciting crowds with a new energy and excitement. Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Don Airey and Simon McBride continue with renewed vitality, pushing the boundaries of hard rock to audiences around the globe, proving that DEEP PURPLE are very much here to stay.
