Dokken

I was checking out my unmarked discs yesterday and came across two Dokken rarities cdrs. Check out both of them and I just wondered if anyone had these and what they thought of them. On some of these songs, I'm totally unsure if its Don singing. On a few others, I wondered if it was even Dokken at all.

I uploaded them here so anyone and everyone can check 'em out and give me their opinions. Some of these songs are acoustic/piano versions and a couple are bonus tracks from Dysfunctional and Shadowlife.

Check them out here and please post your comments!

I can check these out. I do know that many times when they demo'd stuff, Jeff sang on them. I think it may have been due to the ongoing battles between George and Don. Also, Jeff and George wrote alot of songs together, including many lyrics.

I will get back to you and see if they differ from stuff that I have.

I have these too - man it's been ages since I spun them. I do also recall a lot of Don-less songs. I don't mind things like this, but if I recall correctly the sound quality just made them so hard to listen to. OH! But this is where I got the 2 bonus tracks, I think from the 'Erase The Slate' sessions, which are better than most of that (excellent) disc. I forget the names, but 2 killer songs.

Yeah, like TBone said, there is four volumes of rare stuff out there. Somebody took the time to make them (one at a time and in order I believe) and with artwork. Can't remember how many songs but its a lot!

On rarities 1~ the first tracks are indeed sung by Jeff Pilson. If you want to know which songs are from which import, just pm me and I can help you out.

The guitar solo Satin Shorts is killer from George. Check it out.

    • Also last couple of songs have an Axl Rose or Stephen Shareaux vibe to them.
    • He has such a familiar and somewhat comforting voice. For me he was the best of Krokus. The Blitz, Change Of Address and Heart Attack. Not to say I don't like otehr songs, I do, but he make Krokus a nice rounded package with great consistant songs. This song is a bit too AC/DC for me, but as usual hookier and a better tune than most ACDC songs
    • So I've listend to this enough to review it. Overall it's a ptrtty good album. Most of the songs are good or really good. Not many if any great or mind blowing songs. So for me it's an easy album to listen to. Most of the songs will be keepers, amny of them will just scrape through as keepers.
