Pretty good return to form for these guys.

 

Their 2006 debut was good and included a couple of killer songs, but now back with a new vocalist (who is awesome by the way - like a cross of Myles Kennedy and Bruce Dickinson) and a new EP.

 

The last song (Pressure) is a little confused, with no recognisable hook and the 4th song - a ballad - is just 'nice'...........but the first three songs are all excellent (esp 'My Insanity' - excellent) and comes across like a more hookier Alter Bridge.

 

Worth checking out.

I know the band name but not sure I've ever heard them. Will look into it, though I'm tending to try to avoid EPs where not truly essential as they annoy me.

Haven't had the opportunity to hear the EP yet, but I actually quite liked the debut. Got it for nothing over at Secondspin and it's going to get along quite well with me. As you say, a few killer songs on this one but just a really cool vibe.

 

I mentioned it briefly in the 'First spins' thread but how good is that song with the huge intro? I thought it'd be an instrumental for a while, and even then I'd have been into it. Got a few CDs to get through, but already looking forward to the next spin. I detected a Silly Fools comparison here (probably due to both bands having very good guitarists and a similar rhythm guitar style) which really pleased me. Not as hooky or openly melodic as Silly Fools, but still very nice.

Yeah I kinda like the debut...a few filler but some real killer songs along the way.

 

The new singer is way better.

 

The EP has one filler but a 2 or 3 really nice songs......havent listened in a while so will have to dig this out.
