They did arrive a few years too late to really impact that scene. I was a little jaded when it came out and thinking they followed the same formula as all the others.

 

But now, as the years fuse into one, I really like the disc.

I've seen them many times since and like all their output. One of the most decadent gigs I went to was PBF and Faster Pussycat! Talk about a party!

Saw PBF and FP a few years ago at the Camden Underworld.

I always classify PBF as the headliners that night as they were awesome and FP sucked big style.

Not only were FP trying to do the industrial style more than the glam style, but Taime was totally out of his tree, and sounded like a pile of shit.

 

That was the first time I saw PBF, and they went down so well, they soon came back as headliners, so off I went to see them again.

 

They are certainly a band that I try to see whenever they are over here.

Just reading the review for PBF Leather Boyz over at allmusic.com. Looks like someone didn't like this album much...

 

A lot of inspired hard rock came out of the 1980s, but that decade also produced a glut of faceless "clone bands" that hadn't even a trace of originality. One of the most glaring and shameless examples was Pretty Boy Floyd, a so-called "glam-metal" unit known for its androgynous look and ultra-heavy makeup. Derivative of bands like Bon Jovi, Ratt and Quiet Riot but never even a fraction as exciting, Pretty Boy Floyd earned a following in the late '80s offering commercial hard rock at its most generic. From "Rock and Roll Outlaws" to "Only the Young" and "Wild Angels," everything on the cliché-ridden Leather Boyz with Electric Toyz smacks of formula and sounds like the result of a marketing meeting rather than genuine artistic inspiration. This is definitely a CD to avoid.

 

Don't you just hate it when someone obviously not into glam metal tries to offer their biased opinion on a band they shouldn't even try to review. This person was probably writing this review as they were sitting dressed in jeans, white trainers, a mullet, and a sleeveless QR t-shirt. Definitely a lame paragraph.

 

Have seen PBF many times and they always put on a good show even if the songs are repeated.

This album got loads of play time in my stereo back when it first came out and then I sort of forgot about it. But I've now rediscovered it's rock appeal and it still kicks my ass !!.

Anyone else here like PBF ?

Although I really liked the Leather Boyz disk, it always amazed me that they spend the rest of their careers dumping off demo stuff on us... Some of the demo's were good, but many sounded like crap.

Backed. I loved both the LBWET and Porn Stars discs but I can live without having any of the demo releases.

What amazes me is that they released 'Porn Stars', which is an excellent CD. But rather than record all new songs or new versions of previously unreleased gems (like 'Tonight belongs to the young') they opted to re-record a heap of songs off their 'Leather boyz with electric toyz' CD? WTF?

I just remember when it came out how long it took me to find it back in 1999.

Then when I met Kerri Kelli when he was in Ratt shortly after I told him that it rocked and Stephen Pearcy asks him if he played on it and he said no(he was autographing the s/t Ratt disc that he didn't play on either). I told that it says he played on it. Either way great disc and I was stoked to find in some record store. I just couldn't believe it was so hard to find since it was on Cleopatra/Deadline records.
