Cheers! Official press release coming soon including a VERY VERY cool new signing.

Retrospect Records is averaging a signing rate of 3 a week at this point.

    ROCK ON!

I reckon the website need some sort of genre search function... ie metal, aor, melodic, glam...ect.

(Not to say that a band cant come under 2 or more categories, but it makes it easier when searching)

  2. Crazy Lixx - 'Do or die' ; This is called an EP, but with 9 songs I'd call it an album. I love 'Loud minority' and this is nice stuff, with a few tracks which were later spruced up for 'Loud minority' appearing here. Of the tracks that don't appear on it, there's some good stuff. It's a lot rawer and nowhere near as melodic, but this is a pretty good sleaze / hard rock disc. I wouldn't call it essential, even if you love 'Loud Minority', but it's a nice collection of tracks from a great band.

Ther version I have has only 2-3 songs.

What the heckdo you have? Do you have an original, or a download?

Haha... I'm guessing it's probably just a compilation of all pre-debut tracks:

    1. Do Or Die

    2. Daddy's Little Girl

    3. Rock n' Roller Coaster

    4. Over You

    5. Love Is A Drug

    6. Get On Your Knee

    7. Death Row

    8. Bad In A Good Way

    9. Love On The Run

    Looks interesting.

The official one (with 2 tracks) can be sene here:

  4. looking at the picture of the current line-up, they do not look like a band that should be going under the name "LA Guns". They are just running into the ground a band which was once one of the best in the genre.

I met Tracii a few time son the Brides Of Destruction tour and he was a top bloke, but he should just drop the LA Guns idea.

Nothing bonds a band more then going to the same hairdresser...

  6. Spoke to craig a few weeks back - he was busy at the time so I didn't get much of an update from him on the re-issue. He was talking about getting back on the road, including some shows in europe.

He actually just left me a myspace message yesterday about ctaching up again so I'll have to get all the updates from him and let ya's know.

    Cheers.

Was it Germany in which Boss were pretty big?

Boss & BB Steal are still quite well known there. Craig has contact with the guys from Rose Tattoo who must have played some gigs there recently and said that there were people wearing BBSteal shirts in the crowd, and people were asking about them. I think they made a few contacts for them.

  8. who was better... KAZZAR or Method of Mayhem?

Personally I preferred Kazzar ... cos they disappeared quicker!

I'm glad to say I have never heard that Methods of Mayhem disc. I saw poor little Tommy trying to defend it in his 'Tommyland' book. Poor guy.

I think i picked it up from a $2 bargain bin at one stage.

From memory there were 1, maybe 2 songs I thought were ok... and the rest crap. Maybe I should pull it out again and see if that's still the case

  9. Apprently the reserve bank has rasied interest rates making it near impossible for the average working family to realise the great australian dream of owning their own monkey.

    ... and being happy.

Owning a monkey and being happy go hand-in-hand. I don't believe it is possible to have one without the other.

I was going to use the word 'hence' instead of 'and'. I regret my past.

If monkeys were still cheap you could have brought 1 million of them and given them all type writers and they would have typed it out correctly for you.

  11. Damaged Dollz - 2008 Demo

3rd ep from this young swedish sleaze band. Yet another in the long line of scandi sleaze bands... and they are definitely worth a listen. Only 3 tracks, but one absolute gem - Bad Boy Gigolo. Perfectly described as a mix between hardcore superstar and crashdiet. (Not as glam as crashdiet, but not as heavy as HCS).

I know everyone is just thinking... just another swedish sleaze band, but these guys do not disappoint.

  12. Yeah, that masseus last night. WOW! When they had that low shot from behind you could see the shilouette of her Big-W, her toe, her pouch... whatever you want to call it. Revolutionary for Aussie tv.

She had a top figure. Coulnd't work out what nationality she was though... some sort of Islander?

And for the series, I kind lost touch a few weeks ago ... losing track of who was who and who was dead. I deliberately turned off before the end last night cos I want to watch it all again without knowing the very end.

One thing I didn't like was having aussie comedians playing hitmen. They just didn't fit the part. Colin Carpenter as a hit man ... maybe not. That bearded git as a goon... too hard to believe. Apart from that, it was a top series... boobs and all.

  13. I placed an order with cd baby from their $5 bargain bin....

    BRASS KITTEN: Across America

    DANGER: In Control

DIAMOND LANE: Cut to the Chase

    DIRTY ANGELS: Flash A Go-Go

    GRAFITE: Grafite

MOTOR CITY ROCKERS: Rollin & Tumblin

    SUSPICION: Live at the Troubadour

Recieved and had a listen to most of these so far and not a dud amongst them.

Brass Kitten - glorious hair metal. Some sawesome tracks on this one. Difficult to come up with a comparison but maybe a mixutre of Danger Danger, Trixter and a small dash of Pretty Boy Floyd.

Danger - sitting somewhere bewteen swedish glam sleaze and british 80's classic metal. One minute it's big sleazy anthems and the next it's rather classic metal oriented.

Motor City Rockers - imagine Bryan Adams fronting LA Guns - no further description needed.

DIamond Lane - pure hard rock. Johnny Lima has jumped on the DL bandwagon on their more recent recrodsing (not these ones) so grab this one while you can.

With all (apart from Diamond Lane only $5 bucks each).... this was my best value bunch in a loooong time, and I definitely recommend each and every one I have listened to so far

  14. My top 5 discs in rotation would probably include:

Deadthings - Who Killed Holly Would

    Hardcore Superstar - s/t

Big Bang Babies - s/t (cdr only)

Star Star - The Love Drag Years

Peppermint Creeps - We Are The Weirdoz

... plus plenty of buckcherry, backyard babies, crashdiet, babylon bombs, ...
