  1. Exodus are taking time out from the Festival circuit to play a show in sunny Southend in June ... about a 15-minute drive from where I live ... it would be rude not to go
  2. I've just picked this one up ... I've read his previous book ('Rotten ...') several times, so I'm looking forward to this one
  3. The two albums QR did with Randy Rhoads are worth a listen ... nothing ground-breaking, but an interesting 'what might have been'-kinda curio ...
  4. The Jungle Book (2016) ... harmless fun. I wonder how many people wondered why Mowgli was holding/looking at a cow-bell just before King Louie (voiced by Christopher Walken) appeared? Nice touch
  5. The Michael Schenker Group: S/T The Michael Schenker Group: MSG
  6. I haven't really listened to an entire album since 'Extreme Aggression' ... I might pick this one up if I saw it going cheap ...
  7. Berlin: Count Three And Pray Within Temptation: The Heart Of Everything
  8. Rush ... Threshold ... Leppard ... Lacuna Coil ... Dio ... having three kids aged under 5 at the time meant that 2002 was a pretty dry year chez Gibbo ... *chuckle*
  9. I spent the whole of the original film hoping that the characters would hurry up and die ... That is an opinion I hear regularly and my wife echos. What I obviously find significant is the one liberal use of the at the time not an industry standard shacky cam and two the set up. They did a great job teeing up the found footage angle and the potential that this truly happened and three the lack of jump scare versus the staring at the screen waiting for something that never came. Made for a great deal of suspense which further cemented the ending. That said I also enjoyed Book of Souls as I thought that angle was played well. But as with the original part 2 fell flat with the masses. As with the third installment I wish they would have turned up the dials on the dread and steered away from the jump scares. The potential was there for something great but they didn't get it. The film clocked in at 89 minutes maybe if they adddednin about another 20 minutes they could have played out a few more scenes to improve the film??? Maybe a directors cut is impending that will be better? I think not. The original film had so much potential ... the whole 'found footage' idea was brilliant ... it's just a shame that everything was let down by the main characters ...
  10. Plus the rest of the line up is pretty weak imo That, too ... after last year's line-up, it's a big let-down ... Not content with two days, the organisers have added a third ... Saxon are headlining ... Last In Line are confirmed to appear on Friday, as is Graham Bonnet ...
  11. I couldn't see that this had been mentioned anywhere else ... Geoff Nicholls, Sabbath's keyboard player/sometime rhythm guitarist during the Dio/Martin years, has passed away ... he was ousted in favour of Ozzy's own keyboard player when Sabbath toured in 2004/2005 ...
  12. Bryan Adams: Into The Fire All About Eve: All About Eve
  13. Fuck yeah to all three of these...tho I'd probably pick Warrior Soul's Salutations From The Ghetto Nation over L.D.D.C., but only by a smidge That's a tough call ... fuck it, they're BOTH essential!
  14. I spent the whole of the original film hoping that the characters would hurry up and die ...
