  1. I came away saying that to myself too....I was wondering how he was getting such high profile reissues? I mean lets face it, the record industry is cut-throat, and even if the guys in Hurricane wanted to reissue their stuff, or even the rest of Lon's list for that matter, we're talking big labels: Giant, the old Enigma catalog, and the huuuge Capitol as well as Virgin. Big companies, when in doubt don't usually hand over rights like that, unless ya get lucky. Capitol especially since I have family that work for them. It seems as if he wanted to get the most safe releases to suck people into buying, and buying a lot (such as vendors). All of these releases are all really well known and he prob figured serious and casual collectors would all want these...all throughout Europe, etc. *AND TO TOP IT OFF* remastered! I mean most of these he was promising "remastered" were already pretty damn good production values for the time, hell even now on say the Valentine disc and prob the rest, Hurricane releases too ("Slave" has pretty damn good production). The more ya think about it there was just too much, it woulda taken a huge overhaul to accomplish all of this, too much for one person in that time. The legal stuff and getting the rights alone from these big companies let alone the rest, Jap artwork and all. I dunno, would love to hear more news about this.
  2. He signed in from Intensive Care? That basically seals the deal for me. I can't believe it. If I had a bunch of peers/"friends" basically suggesting I was the scammer of the Earth like we are (and with good reason) I'd surely come and clear my name first, and explain...if I was innocent of course. But if I wasn't I'd avoid it and hopefully people would believe my BS story about the car wreck for as long as possible and sign in to myspace, etc. and not here????! CASE CLOSED.
  3. Good work T-Bone!! And he signed in on Myspace today!! Lonnie is in David's top 8. If u noticed their companies are Ford/etc., WOOOW!! Again, for such an elaborate plan he sure forgot some things, and it seems as if this is their real names?! Also, did u see the part in Lon's section where it says he just sold his house. Maybe he's out of dodge already...?!
  4. Yeah there are sure better ways to scam someone outta some dough. It woulda been better to use his ebay ID and "sell" something big (say some cars or whatever) and try and scam a few people outta $10K a pop or even more opposed to doing this? Setting up a whole site, all the explanations, lies, etc. thats what is sooo amazing and made me wanna say "Naw, it cant be" cuz who would do this? I almost think it's a personal thing and he got a kick out of it if it's true, cuz as stated, if u wanted to be a crook there are much easier ways to do it then to have a whole boatload of people knowing your lies, "friends" and all, people u know and who know your address to have it turn into a with-hunt like it most likely will if all these accusations are true. On one hand it seems carefully thought out, but on the other it just seems too stupid to be the case.
  5. Naw, that's interesting. Wonder if thats a real pic of him or not? Has anyone ever met the guy? I'm just wondering about his identity altogether...or if he's working with somebody, etc.
  6. I may be wrong but that looks like it hasn't been updated for years (since 2003)....judging by the last update date that is posted.
  7. It's just one of those gut feeling things. I didn't pre-order anything but from what u see and hear, my instincts....say well, it's a shitty thing for the community. You hear about drive bys and little scams but to this extent to basically slam anyone and everyone from here to Europe down to South America. The guy musta been hurtin to do this that's all I am gonna say. I hope we're wrong, but like u say all roads point to....... ...for life!!
  8. Man this is absolutely nuts. I am again speechless, Lon always messaged me and we had numerous "almost" trades but they never panned out and figured it was cuz of my own sketchiness and distrust. He seemed like a good guy though, can't believe such a premeditated plan to scam people was in order. Coming from experience I always wondered about trades with people from the South (not people in general from the South), but a group of people who did things similar from Arkansas and Florida. Cynthia Wolf comes to mind, but was never one to trust her/him. All I have to say is that there are definitely easier ways to scam people....and why would you rip off all of your fellow "friends" like this? Fellow music fans of the tunes we love. Again, I know I myself am a flake for various reasons, but not one person can say they've been "ripped" by me, and woulda never guessed Lon to be the Wolf in sheep's clothing. WOOOW!!! This is so surprising to me, I am honestly dumbfounded by all of this mess, truly. Just doesn't add up. I wonder how long he had this in mind for???
  9. Good or BAD? WTF! This CD.....no, this MASTERPIECE needs only two categories: F.CKING KILLER or F.CKING RIPPING!!!!! I've owned my copy for probably 8 years now, it did take a small getting used to, but this ripper has grown on me MAJORLY. Listen to the lyrics, listen to the catchy hooks, listen to the attitude. This CD fits in my top 20 Melodic/Hard Rock CD's. KILLER!
  10. Im speechless too. Needless to say Lon is a class act among class acts. I won't be happy until he's back, hang in there man, my prayers are with you.
  11. Yeah that's fuckin BS! Hope nobody got shafted like we're assuming. I can't help but think that guys who have no idea about AOR/MHR just see the high prices and post a pic and say they have it for sale sometimes. Would make sense since it seems like our genre has some of the higher prices as far as music collecting goes.
  12. Not to press this but I thought this disc was phenomenal!! You just don't hear this kinda stuff anywhere else, only on Friction's disc, just my opinion.
  13. I say good, at times they're great...at times they're not, but to me 5 out of 10 songs being ones I liked is pretty good. When they're on their singer and whole vibe is very attitude driven with some pretty damn good hooks to boot. The good material on here more than makes up for the bad IMO...
  14. GNR GNR GNR! Skid Row gets my second choice, along with Hysteria for a different reason, but "Appetite" has always been the one for me.
  15. Seemed to me that I had okay luck with Zane back when he started his mailorder biz... The guy's a Great drummer if anything
  16. Always had good luck dudes from Japan...there are collectors in the truest form, not to mention great sellers!
  17. Love all Anthrax releases, but went with "Persistence of time"!! I'm one of the guys who really dug both vocalists too, I think my next fav is "Sound of white noise". Great release.
  18. Yeah, and NIRVANA released their first two albums 1989 and 1991 and turned out the music world upside-down... great period, I'm speechless And to think who's ever responsible for ending that era of tunes, I oughtta kill em!!
  19. Well put Geoff, I completely agree. There was only a tiny point in time there from like '89 to '91 that is my absolute favorite favorite period of MHR/AOR Hard Rock and "Baby Talk" and very few others are what I'd say exemplify this fav period of mine to a tee. Rock Boulevard, Sgt Roxx, Theatre, and even the more common releases like Valentine and Firehouse are some of the others that I just love and are a major reason why I'd say this period is my fav. Don't get me wrong, I like later (in the mid 90's) and earlier in the 80's (of course , but there is just something about this era from say even '88 to '92 (maybe it's because it was the last part of the genre to evolve in the mainstream before it died, who knows), but yeah, Friction totally does it for me too. This thing never gets old for me, never will either.
  20. Not to ruffle anyone's feathers, but I think Friction is a dead on gem too. I can see the Bon Jovi comparison, but I am going to take it even a step further and say that I like Friction's "Baby Talk" more than anything Bon Jovi has ever done...and of course anything they will ever do too!!
  21. I couldn't disagree more. This clip is not representative of how good this album really is, to be honest this is one of my least fav on the whole thing (still good though!) To me, if you guys like this song, then you'll love the rest. I have no reason to lie, I am in no way affiliated with anyone, and speak only cuz I think the music here needs to be heard by fans of the genre (even if you only wanna spend a few bucks on the tape). Listen to the whole thing and then come back and yell at me, but don't judge this based off this clip...which again, I like it, it's one of the harder edged songs, but doesn't really showcase the hooks they have on here. Fans of Icon's "An Even More Perfect Union" and Danger Danger (Poley-led) will go nuts for the rest!! P.S. For those who take my advice and only get the tape (to see what the hype is about) and TRULY listen to it, my bet is that you'll wonder why you've never heard this before, and why it wasn't pressed on CD...which is the topic at hand! As far as I am concerned this is a VERY underrated classic, and deserves all the hype that it can get since it FRICKIN ROCKS! This thing deserves the attention, trust me on this one!
  22. Not sure if anyone remembers, but I distinctively remember suggesting that someone reissue this album (Reckless - No Frills) on these very message boards about 2 years ago...stating that Atlantic would prob let the rights to this cassette and Vinyl only release go for pennies. Either way, the material on this album speaks for itself, cuz it KICKS MAJOR ASS!!!
  23. Agreed Geoff, that ending track, the ballad u speak of is also highly underrated IMO. Simply a killer ballad, one of the best really, I believe it's called "Fall In Love Again". I'm a fan of the whole thing, and I almost forgot the awesome "Shameless" lol, "down on her knees, eager to please, cuz she's shameless!" Jaimz iz it for me when it comez to the tailz!!!!!
  24. Seems like everybody's in love with "Love Bomb Baby" huh? I must admit, when I first heard it I didn't like that track, a tad too bubble-gummy for my ears at first, but I've since gotten used to it and have grown to really like it even though it's not my fav off of Bezerk. I moreso love "Livin Without You" from Jaimz era tailz, not to mention "Star Attraction", "Shoot To Thrill", and even "Young And Crazy" the song...
  25. Young and Crazy is a classic, that's my first, however, Bezerk has reached classic status as well, and I often like to treat Tigertailz as the obscure version of Van Halen...being that I like the original singer a little more (ever so slightly), but damn, the second singer was great too, completely different sound though.
