  1. Wow!! Something we see eye-to-eye on, musically!! Yeah! I guess all you guys are right! my bad, I was just being a selfish fucker and trying to get my way, I apologize, can you unvote on this thing?? you guys have made me see the light, Nickelback is way more talented and just all around better then Helmet could ever even think of being, I mean Helmets music just has way to busy of a arrangement, while Nickelback's music are all well arranged, and very traditional, I cant stand how in Helmets song's you can never tell what the song's going to do, or where it's going, how can anybody like that? I much rather something like Nickleback, where I can always guess right on where the song's taking me, and I don't ever have to worry about unexpected suprises while listening. Thanks Guys! Yeah, I'm a very simple man, like TDRough said. If these are really your tastes, dude, you really need to look into emo. Not the 'pop' emo bands that get mentioned here, but real emo. That shit has tempo/arrangement changes that'd make your Helmet twist off your scalp. Hell, Helmet are probably the original emo band for all I know. But yeah, no offence, but I hate that stuff. Not for me at all, and yeah, I would prefer predictable, reliable Nickelback (if you're into them) to Helmet. And no offence, dude, because I like you... but making a post like that on this forum, home to arguably the safest and most predictable music styles invented (verse/bridge/chorus/2nd verse/2nd bridge/ 2nd chorus/solo/chorus out... like clockwork) - odd choice. I no what Helmet is, then why the fuck are they on a poll with Nickleback??? Im aware of the kind of music Helmet is, and it's not Even remotely close to Emo, it's that Post Alternate Grunge Rock that went the other way when grunge became trendy, and bands could no longer make it with hair metal sound, it is You Geoff that perhaps should check this genre out, I guess you could put Tool into it, but your simply seeing or not seeing my point, "but making a post like that on this forum," this forum had Helmet on the same poll as Nickelback!!! and that's the whole point ive been arguing from the first post, I just had to post it differently to get the attention, Helmet smokes every band on this poll, and they are not emo, or post emo, they don't even have progressive time changes, that was just a cynical figurative way I could make my case, that Helmet is different, Nickleback is not, therefore, why are they pitted against each other in a poll??? should I not post my distaste for the fact that Helmet was lumped in with all these trendy top 40 bands? And BTW, one of the all time heaviest, hardest, most adrenaline pumping crossover rap metal songs, was done by Helmet and House of Pain for the Judgement Night soundtrack, Just another Victim, now have you heard that Geoff??? This poll did have some interesting choices where some bands included should not even be uttered together in the same sentence....case in point, Helmet to Nickelback. Night and day as far as I am concerned, let alone Living Colour (Living Colours on the poll) or even Faith No More
  2. Hmm, I went with Faith No More based off of their '89 classic "The Real Thing" and their solid follow up "Angel Dust"....but as far as talent goes, the first few Helmet releases are solid, different type of sound, but from what I know about Leykis liking his stuff heavy that makes sense, they're a talented bunch too. Although not my cup of tea but yeah Tool aren't no amateurs either, seen them live a while back cuz a buddy of mine digs them, very solid musicians even though I only dig a few of their cuts.
  3. As a testament to how truly great this band is I could not make up my mind. They have honestly cut some gems in their discography, and as stated probably the most consistently good rock band of all-time. I went with Carpe Diem cuz it's the one I've been playing recently and probably my fav of their newer releases, although their latest is great but I just got that one so for the sake of this poll I picked Carpe Diem. It coulda been just about any one though, it was a matter of which era to pick from, and I felt like they should be rewarded for still releasing kick ass new material to this very day. Hope they go for another 25 years!!
  4. Great great poll. Easy answer for me though: TESTAFUCKINMENT!!! This band has/had it all. It was close, I'm a big Megadeth fan too, and even Death Angel, but Testament are so complete. Great musicians with a great singer, craziest most intense band with still the best songs/songwriting in my opinion, which is what thrash is all about to me. Testament are what Metallica wishes they were, yeah I said that...just for some reason total mainstream didn't quite catch on say as much as Metallica, but I honestly think they were (hands down now too) better. Also, I'd say that The New Order by Testament is prob my favorite album of all time, in any genre, not to mention all of their albums are right up there. They have a very excellent catalogue and never a sellout, as Tim said, even their latest (The Gathering) is awesome. Here's my order: 1.) Testament 2.) Megadeth 3.) Pantera 4.) Death Angel 5.) Slayer 6.) Sepultura 7.) Anthrax 8.) Metallica 9.) Overkill 10.) Exodus
  5. Hey Grab.em.all, your english is fine. I'm sorry to say that it looks like there's another victim here that entered the thousands as far as losses go in this fiasco. I wish you luck man.

    I'M BANEED!

THAT'S IT!!! That's what we put on the back..."C'mon Margie, Do us a post".... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As a frequenter of this site from the very beginning (haha, the early days were great, well before there was a message board...where are ya WidowMaker??), I'd love some HH memorabilia! It's great to see such a superb site like this prosper to where it is today. I think it's a great idea really, to spread the word even more!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Funny you mention WidoMakr...He emailed me on here a few months back for something silly. Haven't heard from him again. So what did ol' Widomaker say? Haha I remember his reviews always said that, "quote the Widomaker...nevermore" ...good fun I'm basicallynot gonna stop looking at this thread til Van Jovi returns
  7. I just talked to Kelly himself on Friday in person and he said the whole thing is a mess. Yeah, that's for sure. He said Foreigner management had taken some steps to persue where this was all coming from but said they told him they can't do much for a hoax someone started to collect unsuspecting people's money (guess that's just false advertising and fraud, therefore the job of legal officials to take care of). They would only get involved if someone was reissuing his stuff illegally/without permission and selling it, which up until this point seems to not be the case...since nobody ever got a CD, and there was never really any actual plans to release anything by Hurricane from "Never Say Die" records (with or without bonus tracks or signatures, especially).
  8. Not the entire album, only the single. I have the LP, and it's great! You guys who are desperately searching the world for those rare and elusive CD's really need to do yourselves a favor and invest in a turntable. Honestly, nothing is rare on vinly (unless it's a MONO Beatles LP) and the sound destroys the CD 9 out of 10 times (on a good TT). No need to argue that here or this thread will quickly become 20 pages. Just take my word for it! Ya really think Vinyl sounds better?? I think vinyl may possibly have more 'punch' but I can't stand the pops and crackles. Yeah I know what u mean Richie, sometimes Vinyl can sound fuller too but I dunno....seems like I always opt for CD's even though I'm a sound buff guy, makes me wonder
  9. "Street Ready" and S/T were neck and neck, went for the S/T though, still remember the day I got it on tape!!

  11. You have GOT to be kidding Why would I be kidding? JL I think it was an awesome move....good job JL
  12. That's because I turned his bitch-ass in! C-Ya later dickhead JL Don't worry, he'll be back. I disagree, not that it matters on this thread cuz whether or not the music is ever worth huge prices such as these is always a debate....and it surely does not warrant fraudulent people banking off collectors who think the money is worth the tunes. Glad he's gone! All in all I like the "Bustin Ass" release a fair amount (don't like their others really), but "Bustin" has a real attitude driven sound, reminiscent of say Kix mixed with Motley Crue....but independent! Just my opinion.
  13. Coincidentally I am going to see Kelly this week with Foreigner. My buddy works the venue where the performance is taking place and I am hoping to talk with him and will surely bring this up.
  14. Yeah 10,000 views in like 2 or 3 days. A lot of people stopped by here to get the news on this one. Does this mean that if Hurricane *DID* indeed actually get their stuff reissued they'd sell 10,000+ units??!! There was a similar topic/thread back when we started the Surrender mystery lol, and when we were getting closer that got a ton of hits too...and look how well the Surrender reissue has done!!! I wonder how many cds Surrender has sold with the re-issue? I kept in touch with Ken from Surrender and got a letter from him a while back cuz we laughed about my theories concerning that CD from that initial post ....lol, but anyway, yeah he said they were doing really well and he never dreamed this many people would ever care like we did. Great reissue by a great band anyway ya look at it!!

  16. Is she still alive? JL My thoughts exactly..... Nobody messes with "Love and War" lolol!! I actually like the girl on the cover more than her and basically all my gfs since, so it woulda never panned out anyway
  17. Agreed T-bone, we are a rare breed collecting this stuff. Whenever I explain it to people they almost never understand, unless I can get them to really like the tunes. I'll never forget when I had this girlfriend whom I tried to convert to liking some of the more obscure indies I had, and rare pieces y'know.....long story short she'd go into my collection and just help herself, lol, and it drove me nuts cuz she wouldn't handle em like I do (no fingerprints, very delicate, etc.) I'll never forget, I had a sealed Lillian Axe "Love and War" Jap press, still very rare, and then I had another domestic version that wasn't in that great of condition, used it to do my listening. Well, I had turned her onto it and she liked the whole album, then when she wanted to go get it she was like "whoa this isn't opened yet" as she's tearin the damn thing open (the SS jap version) cuz she didn't see the domestic version. She barely managed to break plastic and it's still for all intents and purposes sealed/new for myself where I want it to be forever.....bein the weird collector that I am haha!! Love that CD. Had to cut her loose not so long after that, lololol
  18. Yeah man that sucks. Hopefully you and George get priority in the eyes of PayPal. And it's such BS on how PayPal mainly likes to cover Ebay auctions only....ever since Ebay bought PayPal. Regardless, PayPal is a service u pay for, they get their commission for providing a neutral exchange of money, and all transactions should be covered the same as long as there's sufficient proof of foul play IMO.
  19. Adriano....just out of curiosity, what CD's were they? Don't post if u don't wish to, Im only curious because I remember getting a list with Sgt. Roxx in it, and a few others. I'll go back in my emails to check it out, see what others were offered.
  20. Seems like I am not the only person thinking this. He needs arrested ASAP. Let him sort it out at the police station. It's crazy to see a situation blow up like this. He shoulda came clean a while ago, this coulda been resolved. Now it's just downright ugly. Wonder if he is really stalling for a reason?
  21. Anything woulda been better than what he did. Claiming he was in a car wreck?? That's prob the worse part about this whole thing! I mean he had people genuinely hoping for his well-being in the beginning of all this. And when I read George's first reply it was apparent he knew a lot more than any of us at first. All it woulda taken was the fact that he wasn't in a "known hospital" let alone did he think people would just forget once he "got better"?! He woulda been better off saying he died, but that woulda been found out too, since all it woulda taken was a call to his work today to find out that he crawled out of his grave to show up for work today!!! Now that's dedication to your job!
  22. I agree Ashen, some of it was so extravagant (with the lies and all) then the rest of it was so juvenile and dumb!! I think he really thought nobody would be that mad and look into all of this lololol...and that he'd just carry on, with work, etc.
  23. How can you tell if you're signed in anonymously? Man, just yesterday there was only a few hundred views on this topic. This is a biggy no doubt about that.
