I went watching Loveless a few weeks back. It is a bit of an usual setup with just a drummer and guitarist with everything else on backing track (even some guitar stuff seemed to be on tape). Latest single Picasso. Super catchy as always.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26786395/ Wasn't entirely sure which category to put this in (assuming it isn't elsewhere) but having seen 2 or the 3 parts, it will surely appeal to a lot of people on here. A documentary about the hair metal scene featuring new interviews with several people from that era : Janet Gardner, Kip Winger, Snake Sabo, etc. The only thing i would say is, at the end of part 2 they're signalling the grunge era so presumably part 3 is the fallout. As enjoyable as its been so far, it feels like it could've lasted a lot longer (though maybe I'm in the minority)

I saw this band support Brother Firetribe on a UK tour in 2018. I remember enjoying them and searching for their music afterward. Obviously with this being their debut, i couldn't find anything. I hope it's worth the wait.

First gig was Motley Crue at Birmingham NEC in 1989 with White Lion & Skid Row supporting. I was 14. My 2 uncle's took me so I knew a few weeks in advance and was listening to 'Dr Feelgood' & 'Girls, Girls, Girls' in prep. We didn't arrive in time to see Skid Row. I didn't know them at the time or thus what i was missing. Stand Atlantic - F.E.A.R. (female led pop-punk with several bangers) Molly Tuttle – Crooked Tree (she's classed as bluegrass. "noted for her flatpicking, clawhammer, and crosspicking guitar prowess". I saw a comment once that stuck with me : "Molly Tuttle's fingers move so quickly, she could pick your pocket without breaking stride."

I can see there were a few thread mentions of this band in previous years. Female fronted pop-punk. The 2nd album was a bit lighter, but the recent 7 track EP is back on track. 2 crackers below.

Dynazty - Firesign

2010 was a bit of a transitional year for me. I was obviously still aware of the superstar bands releasing albums (i.e. Bon Jovi, Def Lep, etc) but was unaware of any newer bands doing that sort of music (i got my musical knowledge from Kerrang at that time and wasn't aware 'MelodicRock.com' or this site existed. I went to Firefest in 2010 for the nostalgia of seeing Nelson and was BLOWN AWAY by how good Jimi Jamison was. That was the turning point in me discovering the new breed (i.e. Houston, Reckless Love, Eclipse, Heat, etc). Anyway, from the above I'd pick 'Taking Dawn'. I still love that album. It's a shame they never did anything significant afterwards. Favourite track(s) : Take Me Away, Endlessly, Godless.

Checking my records, Jaime Kyle's 'Back from Hollywood' was released in 96 but i didn't hear it till 97. That would've been my favourite of the year.

Of those listed, Korn had the most impact (& my most played of those). Fav album of 96 was actually Baby Chaos - Love Your Self Abuse.

Faith No More for me too. Fav track from it = 'Evidence'.
