  1. Pretty good but I think I prefer the last Cain's Offering album to this one.
  2. So it's an Alessandro Del Vecchio album.
  3. Wow, very disappointed this wasn't an Avril Lavigne cover
  4. METAL AS FUCK. This album is EVERYTHING metal should be. Without a doubt one of the finest albums of the genre. Priest had released some amazing albums prior to it, of course, but everything just got turned up to 11 on Painkiller. It's like they saw the direction metal was going in and said, "You want extreme? Here's EXTREME!"
  5. If that isn't an Erik Martensson album title!
  6. Agreed with all of this. Anders Wikstrom is IMO second to none among melodic rock guitarists, especially when it comes to accentuating vocal lines with a tasty guitar lead rather than just a standard chord progression. I don't have a high-level sound system but I'd imagine that Treat's modern material sounds absolutely amazing when the lead guitar has room to breathe. And yes, the vocals are just subpar these days. They were at least acceptable on Coup de Grace and Ghost of Graceland but were clearly the weak link on those albums too. A shame because the vocal melodies themselves are generally very good. With that said, I'm still on the fence about getting this album. It seems fine but not many songs have grabbed me on multiple listens. Cheers to Frontiers for uploading the full album to YouTube, makes it a lot easier to decide.
  7. There are a shit ton, but this is the first that comes to mind: Identical vocal melodies in the bridge, at nearly the exact same time stamp too!
  8. Which albums from the 2010s, for you, will go down as classics? Which ones stand out the most, still sound as amazing as the first time you heard them, and you still listen to all the way through? Mine: Treat - Coup de Grace (2010) Vega - Stereo Messiah (2014) Work of Art - In Progress (2011) The Defiants - s/t (2016) Eclipse - Bleed and Scream (2012)
  9. Wow! This is a nice surprise.
  10. I knew before I even saw the watermarked image which website you were referring to... How many different domains have they gone through now? At least half a dozen.
  11. That song grew on me. The album in general is full of very anthemic songs. I'm seeing a lot of comments in this thread talking about Coup de Grace. I don't think they will ever top that one. To me it's an absolute classic of contemporary melodic rock and will always be one of the first albums I think of when it comes to great releases from 2010 onwards. (How the hell does it only have an 83 on the main page?)
  12. I'm listening to this now and I really like it. I can't say I was too into this band before and I can see how this style of music can get boring, but you could say the same about most of the cookie-cutter AOR being released these days. There's nothing new under the sun there so this is a cool change of pace for me. Longer songs with a more chill atmosphere (kinda reminds me of modern Dare in that respect) and a proggy touch, with far less cliche lyrics. Also, Gary Hughes is a hell of a singer. His voice is so confident and assertive. Kind of odd to hear such low-register vocals in melodic rock but count me among the people who love it. This is a great song!
  13. If you say something over and over again, you'll end up believing it.
  14. Fallen is a great song. Very emotional.
  15. Wow, another ADV song with bland vocal melodies, no dynamics between the verse and chorus, and absolutely no replay value. Shocker.
  16. Sorry for the massive topic bump, but I need to say that this is one of the best AOR songs I've ever heard. The keyboards are divine and the way the chorus builds every time around is masterclass songwriting.
  17. Paul Laine Bruno Ravel Rob Marcello Steve West
  18. That one was OK. I'm not inclined to listed again though.
  19. What a great year this was! I'd go: One Desire Lionville Tokyo Motor Fist
