Thanks for the replies to my post,
I had over 500 before I moved and much to my surprise was able to sell the whole lot to a store called the Dupe Shop (https://www.duplication.ca/dupeshop/)....
I'm glad to hear you were able to get all those sold in one transaction. I had disposed of a lot of mine over the years as I assumed there was no market for most of them but it looks like I was wrong.
Shadow Kingdom has been doing it for years.
I went to the Shadow Kingdom site and you're right they look to have issued many of their releases in cassette format
Oh the memories of hunting around bootlegs at car boot sales and the ability to copy stuff from your mates. Tape was a great format in it's day.
I too have fond memories of trading bootlegs with friends. That ability to record, before cd and digital file formats, was another reason to use cassettes back then.
It's been going on for a couple of years now. I can sorta understand the gotta-catch-em-all collector appeal
I hadn't noticed it before but good point with regards to the collector appeal. If there is a market for it companies will be more than willing to fill it.

I know there has been a resurgence for releasing albums on vinyl for quite awhile now, but I was unaware that companies had started issuing them in cassette format. I noticed the new Lynch Mob was going to be available, albeit in limited quantities, on cassette tape via Rat Pak Records. I'll admit I still have a handful of cassette tapes in my collection, mostly a few demos, indies and harder to find releases. I used to primarily buy them in the 80's so I could play in my car. But now a days it seems like a complete waste of time and money to be issuing in this format. Was just curious if anyone else had seen this for other releases or had any thoughts on why a company or band would even bother doing so.
Lynch Mob "The Brotherhood" Limited print cassette tape (pre-order) -
From Rat Pak Records site - https://www.ratpakrecordsamerica.com/lynchmob
Produced by Chris "The Wizard" Collier (Lynch Mob; Flotsam And Jetsam; Prong; KXM), “The Brotherhood” features eleven brand new hard rock tracks from Lynch Mob. This album will surely resonate with long time fans of the band, as well as those longing for that good ol' hard rock sound and feel. "The Brotherhood” highlights the unique pairing of Oni Logan and George Lynch, and along with Sean McNabb (bass) and Jimmy D’Anda (drums), the band has created a solid offering from start to finish. From the heavy guitar riffs of the opening track “Main Offender” to the melodic album finale ”Miles Away”,
Official release date for “The Brotherhood” is Friday September 08, 2017.
TRACK LISTING:
01. Main Offender
02. Mr. Jekyll and Hyde
03. I'll Take Miami
04. Last Call Lady
05. Where We Started
06. The Forgotten Maiden's Pearl
07. Until the Sky Comes Down
08. Black Heart Days
09. Black Mountain
10. Dog Town Mystics
11. Miles Away
12. Until I Get My Gold (bonus track) -
I thought their first three albums were solid, but I didn't like too many songs on Blood and I haven't been able to get into any of their releases, as a whole, since then. This album hasn't changed that trend for me unfortunately. A few ok tracks but nothing that really stands out.

CrashDiet!
Good one, especially Rest in Sleaze was very reminiscent to late 80's/early 90's sleaze/glam albums, comparable to early Tigertailz in style and sound

It's been a minute since I listened to it, so I might be remembering it wrong, but Damn Cheetah comes to mind.
So I listened to it...
Damn Cheetah comes to mind!!
I agree, that Damn Cheetah album would have fit with albums from that era. When I first heard it I thought it was a reissue of an indie release or something

By the way what's the shame on you song around the 35 min mark?
Shame was a bonus track on the Japanese release version of Tearing Down the Walls
-
Great song
-
Those tracks all sound pretty good. Bastard of Society and Blind Leads the Blind were the ones that stood out the most though after the one listen.
-
Came across what looks to be a track from this upcoming album. Just not sure if it is a demo or the final version of the song.
-
I'm pleasantly surprised to see them get together and record a 2nd album. The new song sounds pretty good and would fit right in with the debut, which I enjoyed. I would like to see them change up the tempo of the songs a bit more on this follow up though.
-
How about Keel Streets of Rock and Roll from 2010? I think that album has similar style and sound to their stuff from the 80's
-
Ok, I see where you are coming from, thanks for adding your additional thoughts. I was looking at it more from the style of music and the songs themselves. Adding in the sound or production makes it quite a bit tougher, but I'm sure I will come up with a few.
-
Interesting topic, I'll give it some further thought and come up with a few. I will initially say that I disagree a bit with you, as I felt that Dokken's Lightning Strikes Again, Whitesnake's Good To Be Bad and Ratt's Infestation were actually albums that did a good job of returning to form for those respective bands.
-
Thanks for sharing, I've never heard them before. Good tune, I'm going to check out the full album and their prior releases.
-
Very cool news, I really like this new track and look forward to the release of the album
-
Nice song, but hard to live up to the hype expressed in the press release. It has a bit more of a modern, pop rock feel to it rather than the AOR style used on The Great Escape, which was probably my second favorite album of hers after Trouble or Nothin.

I saw a story about this on my local news as it happened not far from where I live. Sad to hear that David lost his life in the tragic accident.
-
The album cover and video stills had me expecting this would sound really cheesy, but I thought the album was pretty good
-
Not bad, but I actually prefer the first two tracks released off the upcoming album from Jakob's side project, Kryptonite
-
As expected the new song doesn't sound anything like their first two albums. The chorus wasn't bad, but I would have preferred less vocal and guitar effects.
-
Nice album cover. Hypothetical, Subsurface and Dead Reckoning are my faves from them. I like the new song and I know they are a prog rock band, but not sure I agree with a 10 minute epic as best choice for lead single. I'll give the album a few listens, but admit to already being a bit disappointed that Damian is no longer with the band.

I wasn't expecting much when this one was announced, but I'm liking what I've heard so far. Both tracks sounded good to me

If I recall correctly, there was a lot going on just prior to and during the recording of that album. Steve Perry's mom was very ill, they replaced Ross and Steve Smith and brought in session players to record most of the bass and drum parts. After the album and tour finished I believe it was Steve who announced he was going on hiatus after the recording/producing/touring/personal matters during the prior years took their toll on him.
