Liked the first single “Silent Winter” just fine, but this, THIS is what I wanna hear from these guys. It’s Dokkenesque material with Girish on vocals.
my thoughts exactly, I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the album

I've not heard of either of those artists. I think the Dominum tracks sound pretty good also. That's one of the reasons I enjoy checking out everyone's best of lists each year as I always find several good releases that I otherwise may have missed.

And... fail.
Damn, I thought I'd hit on one of those. I'm throwing in the towel as you've got me stumped. Hopefully someone can figure the last two out before you reveal them

I'll take another stab at it, but this time I'll remove the 3 we've gotten right to maybe improve the chance of figuring out 1 more

- Wings of Steel – Gates of Twilight

I'll give it another try
- Beyond The Black - S/T
- Streetlight - Ignition
- The Defiants - Drive

I'm personally stoked to hear the new Metallica in a few days time. First 4 singles kick arse imo.
I forgot about that one, I think the last Metallica release I truly looked forward to hearing was Load, and that ended up being a huge let down. As you mentioned though, most of the songs for this upcoming album have sounded good

I agree with those who mentioned there haven't been too many standouts so far. Of the ones I've listened to Creye's latest is easily my favorite. I enjoyed First Signal's new one as well. There are quite a few scheduled for release in May & June that I'm looking forward to though including The Defiants, ModX, Winger, Extreme, Midnite City, Heaven's Edge and Mystic Prophecy.

Here's a selection from "The Cars".
Another band synonymous with the 80's.
I've cheated a bit by posting "Let's Go" from 1979 (maybe a 70's Pop song of the day thread is on the cards).
I've also added Ric Ocasek's Killer solo track, "Emotion in Motion" from '86.
Let us also not forget that Ric Ocasek was married for 30 years to Sports Illustrated/Super model Paulina Porizkova.
Another of life's mysteries that I struggle to come to terms with.
In my opinion, their song "Drive" with bassist Benjamin Orr (RIP) on vocals is one of the best pop rock tracks from the 80's

2. Lords Of The Trident
3. Battle Beast
4. Reckless Love
5. Crashdiet

I thought the first single was pretty good but the new track doesn't do much for me.

Here's another 6 of the absolute best.
An eclectict bunch, but again, that's what 80's Pop was all about.
I've added the obligatory Aussie track, perhaps not the best known INXS song, but definitely one of my favourites.
Here's an interesting bit of trivia, one of these tracks has a huge connection with the Sarah Michelle Gellar TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".
Anyone know which one?... and why?
If I recall correctly Murray Head's brother was an actor on the Buffy tv show. Speaking of INXS, my favorite song of theirs would have to be Don't Change.

I enjoyed Hørizøns but it strayed from the symphonic/modern metal sound of their earlier albums which I'm sure turned off some fans. This new track and the other recent single Reincarnation sound pretty good and seem to to be closer in style to those prior releases.

As a few others mentioned, musically it isn't too far off from their early material, but the song itself doesn't do much for me unfortunately. In watching the video it looks like they've got a new drummer.

Gave this a spin this morning. I wasn't expecting much based on all the negative comments in this thread but I think it's a good album. Sure Erik is more suited to this style, but I thought Kenny did a solid job. And the mix isn't great but it's not unlistenable. A few tracks ("One of Us" and "Paramount") that I thought were just OK, but a handful of standouts for me as well like "Hollywood", "Harder To Breathe", "Not For Sale" and "Wings Of An Aeroplane". It falls well short of their best, but I enjoyed it more than I did Into the Great Unknown, which is still my least favorite album from the band.

New single sounds great. The last album was good but I thought it lacked the consistency of the debut. I'm looking forward to hearing more from this one.

You might be thinking of the band Fierce Heart. I've not yet listened to that recent album, but the one they released back in '85 was a good one.
