Oh wow, really? then you need to check him out, in particular his 2 solo albums Robert Hart - Cries and Whispers [1989] and his ST from [1992] and of course The Distance - Under The One Sky [1989] which every AOR fan should own,a must have.
Distance "Under the One Sky" does have some nice AOR tunes on it, but I prefer The Distance S/T from '97 with Chris Ousey and Kenny Kaos.

Got this one a few weeks ago. The first three promo tracks posted here are probably my favorites, good album.
-
Visual Lies is my fave. I like the new song. It sounds like something from Master of Disguise era. Fans who prefer the more metal sounding first couple albums may not enjoy it as much, but throw away is a bit harsh.

Lizzy Borden's new album "My Midnight Things" is scheduled to be released June 15th and is available for pre-order through Metal Blade http://www.metalblade.com/lizzyborden/. A lyric video for the title tracks is out now.
- My Midnight Things
- Obsessed With You
- Long May They Haunt Us
- The Scar Across My Heart
- A Stranger To Love
- The Perfect Poison
- Run Away With Me
- Our Love Is God
- My Midnight Things (Reprise)
- We Belong to the Shadows

I agree with the positive comments about this one. The guitarist tears it up. I enjoyed the whole album but my initial favorites are "Breathless", "Ends With Me", "King of the Hill", and "Easier Said Than Done".

First single released with Dennis Ward on vocals. Sounds like Khymera to me.
Nice tune, Khymera is a good comparison

It actually sounds like a better version of Ghost town to me
and it's completely stuck in my head at the moment
Nice, I found it similar to Ghost Town too. Hearing a song that you really like and that has a melody/hook that stays with you is what it is all about.

I'm fine with having a few extra ballads on an album, but if a hard rock band slows things down too much those tracks need to be stronger to pull it off. "Never Enough" was a perfect example of a song that worked. "Lie to You" and "Walking Away" seemed too drawn out and lacked the hooks of their prior ballads.

Great song !
Agreed, I prefer the heavier style of their earlier albums, but this new song is catchy
-
Of their prior albums, I was always partial to The Black Halo and Silverthorn. This new one was just ok for me.

New video.
Decent tune, but I thought "Ghost Town" and the tracks on their EP were better
-
Haha! Where do they come up with the ideas for their lyrics. I've never been able to get into them, but I give them credit as I thought they'd merely be a flash in the pan
-
Much better than the ridiculous first track. Solid tune that sounds like it could be a leftover from the Intuition sessions.
-
Sounds pretty good

I gave their new release a listen today. For me, it is a little less consistent than their last album. The title track , "Temple of Lies", is probably the heaviest song they've recorded, but I preferred the more melodic numbers. My favorites are "On the Wings of an Angel", " Love the Way You Hate Me", "I'll Never Be Loved By You" and "Crazy Over You" .
-
The lyrics are a little goofy at times, but as far as the music and melodies, this one sounds like it could be pretty good.
-
I had forgotten about these guys. Another nice tune, although I thought the first track was better. Hopefully they'll release an album soon.
-
Solid album with "I Don't Mind", "When I Came Undone" and the title track being my initial favorites. There are a few tracks that I found myself reaching for the skip button, which makes it even more puzzling as to why they left off a track like "All You Need Is A Heartbeat". I'd recommend checking it out if you liked the band's prior material, but I think their debut was stronger.

maybe the songs aren't as catchy
I can't argue with that. I like the last few Styper albums, but the material isn't as catchy as the songs he wrote during the 80's and early 90's. I prefer Soldiers, THWTD, Against the Law and his solo debut over the new stuff
-
The new song sounds like vintage Stryper. I can see the chorus coming across as a bit annoying for some, as CureTheSane mentioned, but it works just fine for me.
-
-
I like Jet Lag in Shanghai. The other two are ok, I would have probably enjoyed I See the Light more with a different arrangement, as it has a nice chorus
-
I gave this a listen and thought it was pretty good. A fun, late 80's style hard rock album. They remind me a little of Roxy Blue. My initial favorites are Art of the Heart, See You Again, Locked Down and the title track.
-
Good tune, I've listened to the album once and it is pretty good. Initially, I'd say I prefer Big Red and Quid Pro Quo to this one. The overall sound is a little heavier and the hooks aren't as immediate. Maybe it will grow on me after another listen or two.
Ace Frehley - Spaceman
in AOR and Hard Rock

Ace's solo from '78 and the first Frehley's Comet release are still my favorites from him outside of KISS. He put this new track out yesterday and is apparently planning on releasing a new album this summer/fall.
