it's different. Good, but odd. The lead vocals remind me if classic '90s Cher (her rock albums) sang country music.

It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, just not what I was expecting.

I listened to this today and quickly realized your description of the singer at times sounding like Cher doing country rock was spot on.  Overall, a nice album, but the vocals seemed a little out of place

Some of these songs aren't exactly huge derivations from what was on the original album.

It is similar in style for sure, but the songs aren't as strong to me.  I think it is worth checking out for anyone who liked the debut.  Just be aware that they had replaced the original singer when they recorded these tracks.

  3. I enjoyed it even more upon listening a second time.  It is more consistent than the prior two albums, but I find that my favorite tracks on those releases are better than anything on this one.  But that is just splitting hairs.

Been listening to this most of the evening on repeat, its very very good,a real nice melodic hard rock album, the first five tracks fly by as they are really consistent "Do you Love Me" being probably the best track on the disc, but "Heart And Soul" "Turnabout" and "Too Little Too Late" are also nice tracks. Its just a good solid cd,and reminds me of Terry Brock.

The only track I'm ot keen on at the minute is track 6 "Someone Like You" which has a country rock type vibe but almost reminds me of something that would've appeared on any of Trixter's last couple of albums.

Still I'm really enjoying it,it sounds great production wise...to my ears anywho.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the album, sounds like a good one.  I ordered this one along with the new Maverick release today

  5. This would have been a must buy for me had Harnell remained involved.  I'll still give it a listen out of curiousity.  It is a shame great bands like TNT, Dokken, Ratt and others have allowed greed and petty squables get in the way over the years.

    Very old school Helloween.

I was thinking along those same lines, especially when the singer belts out those opening shouts.  Solid tune, but had I heard it on the radio I'd never guess it was Bonfire.

Mine arrived today, its at home...im at work...will check it out upon getting in :)

Promo tracks sounded good, but I have not yet ordered a copy.  I'm interested to find out what you think of the album, once you've had a chance to check it out.

It's a strange world when a sole bass player can carry on a band name. Imagine trying to play these songs alongside something like 'How many tears' from their debut and trying to tell someone that it was the same band. I know bands evolve, and I have enjoyed some recent albums from JH... but how is this JH at all anymore?

I'll try it out, but those songs are hardly inspiring.

Agreed, I am surprised these guys are still able to use the band name.  I thought a few of their albums after Bormann left were solid but these new tracks just fall flat for me.

Yep, exactly. And Ratt have probably been touring for 18 years since their last album too, but who cares or notices this aside from the handful of American residents who get to see these shows? Cinderella, anyone?

It terms of recording artists, these bands are completely insignificant and changing band members will only affect the people who get to see them live each year... a handful of Americans.

    Touché

  10. Listened to it tonight and I was not disappointed.  My favorite tracks at the moment are "Burn", "Elegantly Wasted" and "Dangerous".  While it might end up in my top 5 this year, I initially feel it is a notch or two below their prior releases, with Rise Up still being my favorite.

This news is the equivalent of saying something like CC Deville is out of Poison. The first question from the majority of people is going to be, "Oh, are Poison still together?"

Who really gives a shit what happens in completely inactive bands? It's entirely inconsequential.

    Aren't Poison touring?

Haha!  Indeed Poison is touring this year and did so last year.  In fact, outside of a couple years off they have been touring the better part of the last two decades.

Be different as well if they seemed to actually be doing anything at this moment in time(apart from arguing and lawyers & stuff)  I mean how long ago was infestation?

Good points, I really enjoyed Infestation and was holding out hope for one more album before they called it quits or further splintered apart like this
