  1. Excellent and agree with Jim Tesla is great and so is this tune. The banjo outro is a nice touch and vocally it's as if Jeff hasn't lost anything he sounds exactly the same.
  2. Excellent! And apparently this is release number 3! http://www.blackslash-band.de/ https://www.facebook.com/blackslashband
  3. Just got this over the weekend and it as a whole is quite good.
  4. These guys still show active even though this album came out in 2012. Some very nice groove hard rock with REALLY competent guitar playing. https://www.facebook.com/SmokeTheSky/ https://youtu.be/byfckycf1e0 https://youtu.be/BXhcc_3p0fA

  7. Looks like they need to have a massive going out of business sale. ?
  8. Hail Caesar. Wanted to like this but alas it is quite non-engaging and rather boring and uneventful.
  9. Yep, but a cool looking one. There are a few on Ebay at the moment. I have a half dozen of these live bootlegs a few Mother Love Bone Pearl Jam and a Black Crowes one.
  10. Yeah, a friend of mine has been talking about this forever. I'm not into NFL or fantasy football, so I never thought it would appeal to me. Oh it will appeal to you. The group has a common bond and that is their fantasy football league, but their relationships are way deeper than that. Very well written and super funny. Once you find out about "Eskimo brothers" or "the vinegar strokes" you will never be the same. And then there is Rafi:
  11. Been digging this latest LP from these Swedes The Last Band entitled Rats of Gothenburg since late last year. If you like your sleaze angry and heavy then TLB is for you. https://www.facebook.com/TheLastBandmusic http://www.thelastband.net/ "The Last Band from Gothenburg started making noise around the city at the beginning of 2011 and the word spread fast! In 2012 the "Mean Machine" EP was released and by this time the band had been rocking out many venues and earned themselves the name of a damn good live act! In December they won the biggest competition for unsigned hard rock bands in Sweden. 2013 was a hectic year for the band. In June they released a 2-track single in Sweden Rock Magazine together with Jägermeister. Shortly after that they recorded a music video to that very single and also got to play Sweden Rock Festival and Metaltown. By this time Nick (ex lead guitarist) felt that things were moving too fast and decided to quit and focus on his friends and family. Chris then called his old friend, Alex, to see if he was up for the task. Alex was psyched about the idea and got on board the crazy train immediately. In 2014 the band released a 2 track single during the spring and followed up with a music video to "Alcoholic Wastecult". In the summer they toured New York and managed to play 4 different venues. As the rumour of their wild live performance spread, the audience grew bigger each time. Online rock critics and photographers came along to every show and Dead Timez Magazine posted a full page interview with the band in one of their issues. They sure left their mark in the city before heading on home. Back home they kept working with their producer Henryk Lipp and at the end of the year they entered the studio once again to record their full length album." 2015's Rats of Gothenburg
  12. Just reviewed this one and I love it. A must for fans of Lizzy Borden and Armored Saint.
  13. Not a movie but binge watching The League. If you are not familiar go get familiar. Some of the funniest stuff ever and seven seasons worth.
  14. All the way from the land of Finn's 2 copies of the latest from Bailout-...As The Wind Blows (One is still sealed and ready for trading).
  15. I think this is mostly accurate asides from the sometimes remark. Girls always crave attention and as mentioned some are the purest form of evil there is.

    Ciclon

Some very very very competent heavy metal from Madrid. I love these guys but you will not as they sing in glorious es Spaniol. Give them some love anyways as they deserve it. They have been pounding the pavement in support of the cause since '06 and have released a handful of albums and EP's including the latest "Fuera de Control" (Out of Control) from November of 2015. Enjoy! www.facebook.com/ciclonmetal80 www.ciclonmetal80.com

  22. Well after a bit of Googling it appears that the guitarist in Zen Boy Matt Bruck has been Eddie Van Halen's guitar/amp tech/PA for a LONG while and from some of the articles I have read Matt used some of Ed's gear to record the Zen Boy demo's. Quote from the EVH article below. "It sounds like you have your guitar plugged into a Leslie on "Not Enough." "We plugged the Marshall into the Leslie via this preamp box that my tech, Matt Bruck, brought over. He had used it on the demo tape for his band, Zen Boy. He hooked me up and I just played it." Matt can be seen here talking about some of the EVH gear and products: http://bcove.me/agx0bsow Apparently Zen Boy changed their band name to Custom 500. In this video of Shawn Lane and his "Power of Ten" sessions at the 5:35 mark the camera does a close up on the Marshall head he is using and in the masking tape a top the head it is clearly written "Zen Boy". Apparently Shawn and Matt and Eddie where in cahoots in multiple ways... I was not familiar with Shawn but after finding this video and watching a boatload of others the guy (RIP) certainly could play. Humbling. Looks like Matt trademarked the name in 1994: https://inventively.com/search/trademarks/74522261 Looks as if Chris Lester was in this Zen Boy band as well. He has played with a TON of people and is pictured on an album we are all familiar with Wild Horses-Bareback. On the page linked below Chris played bass with Matt in Zen Boy and then Ultrasoniccrush and then Custom 500 for 2 demos. The other 2 members of Zen Boy were Rich Galdieri and Alan DiSilva. http://www.chrislester.me/chrislester.me/Discography.html Here is a copy of some more history from here: http://www.cdbaby.com/m/cd/lestersounds 1994 saw Chris join up with longtime Eddie Van Halen guitar tech Matt Bruck in the band ZenBoy. They garnered some label interest but received no bites. ZenBoy played with Van Halen, Skid Row and Brother Cane at The Block Buster Pavillion which had been the site of the US Festival. The members of AC/DC came to see the band at The Coconut Teaser which was a highlight for Chris as well as Eddie Van Halen coming to a band rehearsal. Growing frustrated with the direction ZenBoy had taken, Chris and Matt decided to start a new project with Chris on lead vocals. The three piece UltraSonicCrush was formed and had more drummers than Spinal Tap. Fortunately none ever spontaneously combusted. Their form of power pop (think Cheap Trick meets The Sex Pistols) predated the success of The Foo Fighters, STP and Green Day. Chris and Matt decided to change the name to Custom 500 and recorded a three song demo with drummer Abe Laboriel Jr (Paul McCartney). They managed to attract the attention of virtually ever major label and played showcases at The Dragonfly and The Viper Room in Hollywood switching between Eric Singer (KISS) and James Kottack (The Scorpions) on drums. Custom 500 was unable to secure the ever elusive record deal and Matt and Chris took a break to re-evaluate their game plan. Looks like Amazon has a grip of these for sale too. https://www.amazon.com/Best-L-Vol/dp/B000006MFZ I can not find any samples anywhere however of Zen Boy or Custom 500.!?
