Saw these videos and it made me think of you all. Funny stuff!! https://youtu.be/S0JgVjhxXE4
  2. Finally found a used shop here in Vancouver, WA and perused the $.49 wall of discs, nothing epic, but some eclectic fillers for sure: Dog Fashion Disco-The City Is Alive Tonight Live In Baltimore (CD/DVD) The Phil Woods Quartet-More Live (This is one of those Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Original Master Recordings discs) Girschool-S/T (1992 Progressive/Communique) (this one is a double so if you want it let me know!!!!!!!) Meat: The Bad Examples (1993 Indie Issue of The Bad Examples from Chicago, Illinois demo's) 16 Second Stare-Red Carpet Material Uncle Otto-Lead Pipe Cinch Ann Jillian-In The Middle of Love The Songs of Steve Allen (This one was too good to pass up as many of us know Ann as a TV actress from the 70's and 80's and of course Mr. Steve Allen as well). Died Pretty-Very Brilliant Eye Dirt Bike Annie-Hit The Rock (Some local Oregon indie rock stuff from 1999) Un Biglietto Per L'Inferno (Haven't a clue on this one. The band photos look look like any other 70's prog band but these cats are obviously from Italy and this Italian disc from 2001 looks like a compilation of the six tunes they released on a 33-1/3 and a 45 vinyls in 1974 on Trident Records also in Italy) Ah, yes very trip inducing prog and sung in their native tongue of course. For fans of the early Yes and that ilke.
  3. (raises hand) That would be me. I'm in. Yes me as well! And the tunage in the EPK is heavy and the solo'ing is shred'a'licious.
  4. "In what promises to be Stryper front-man Michael Sweet’s most intense solo release to date, “One Sided War” showcases a full plate of hard rock & classic metal riffs from start to finish. One Sided War marks Michael’s 7th studio solo album and it clearly proves that he is still at the very top of his game! “I’ll tell you about it”, says Michael, “Musically it’s my heaviest solo album. It’s not thrash metal but there are definitely some songs on there that will pop out at you. There are some songs that have a bit of the Iron Maiden / Dio feel to them, as well as some songs that have a little bit of a Van Halen influence to them. It’s a very guitar-oriented, hard rock/metal album with lots of melodies and hooks!” Surrounding himself in the studio with Whitesnake guitarist Joel Hoekstra, Evanescence drummer Will Hunt, bassist John O’Boyleand East Coast shred-master Ethan Brosh, Michael began creating what would soon be known as “One Sided War”. Michael states “Originally I planned on showcasing my own guitar playing; I was going to do it all myself, but once I brought Joel & Ethan into the picture, things began to take a new direction and I am very happy with what we have accomplished”. Says Ethan Brosh about working with Michael, "He's one of those guys who have always been at the top of their game and has just never lost it and for me to be a part of this is very special". Joel Hoekstra comments "Michael and I actually go back to my time in Night Ranger when we opened for him when he was playing with Boston. Ever since then we've just been kind of collaborating and this is sort of a natural evolution getting to play on a few songs on his solo album". The fast and furious opener “Bizarre” ignites the album’s pace with it's lightning fast riffage, soaring vocals and blazing guitar solos. Tracks like “Can’t Take This Life”, “One Sided War”, "Golden Age", “I Am” and “Comfort Zone” keep the metal fires ablaze, while tracks like “Radio”, “One Way” and “You Make Me Wanna” bring the hard rock vibe to the forefront . “One Sided War” features only one ballad, “Who Am I?”, a heartfelt, passionate song that reminds us of the softer side of Michael’s talents. Closing out the disc is a bonus track; it’s a different version of the song “Can’t Take This Life”, a duet with Michael and 16 year old up-and-coming female vocalist Moriah Formica. If you are a fan of Michael Sweet / Stryper or a fan of classic Hard Rock & Metal in general “One Sided War” is an absolute must have, you won’t be disappointed! Official release date is August 26, 2016" Press release from Rat Pak Records

  10. Super good melodic stuff from the debut cd from NYC Pareidolia. https://www.facebook.com/thePareidoliaBand
  11. Nice sounding Norwegian rock n roll with some nice harmonies. Their site says "stoner rock" but to me it sounds more southern fried, nice solo in this video as well. https://www.facebook.com/madmonkofficial/

  13. Former members of Slipknot, Stone Sour, Deadfront, Mindrite, Down the Sun and River Bottom Nightmare teamed up to form the highly anticipated, Dogs of Neptune and will release their first album, One Taste of Blood which imho is some excellent melodic metal with a few modern moments! From Iowa no less. https://www.facebook.com/DogsOfNeptune/
  14. The postman has been good to "T" this week... Dan Logoluso-Back From A Journey Tempt-Runaway Rossometile-Alchemica
  15. DO have just released their second album in May of this year. This is some very nice and heavy hard rock in the vein of Paw and the like with a gaggle of Zack Wilde squeals in the guitar bits. Good stuff! https://www.facebook.com/DoomsdayOutlaw http://www.doomsdayoutlaw.com/
  16. Yes not bad in the least. Good new band name too.
  17. That is pleasant. Oh so very Disney. I can't help but hear this song all over this one.
  18. Had to state the obvious but "wrestling" the gal in the video would be epic.
  19. Arrived yesterday but alas no "me" time for a proper listen even though I am familiar with most of the music already. I am certain this one will review well.
  20. Great to be optimistic and open minded I know I am but when the bands early stuff is horrific it seems impossible to generate anything listenable. That said they did set the bar super low so???
  21. I hope mine is in the mail box today.
  22. Gag. This band has always been sub sub sub tier. Way way way better bands out there that didn't get a nod.
