Id like to apologise to the feral looking pornstar Monk - after much wikiiiing... it was some other chick that was kicked out for stealing Monks money..
I'll pass on your apology when she wakes up
-
... but where the fuck is that going to go? The judges and point of the show is just so fucked up. I honestly don't understand the mindset for it. I hate it so much.
Anyway, as the story goes I was actually at work and walking through a doctor's surgery and noticed a glam band on a repeat of the show and made a mental note to watch re-runs to see what it's all about. Christ on a crutch it was hard work to get through it, though.
Suuuuuure,
Me thinks thou doth protest to much, and that you religiously record the show and watch over and over.
-
Yeah I meant that for every one time US people can't access clips online because of different country, we have it 10 times worse
-
Don't know, but she was in that band.
She has a great sense of humor though, I guess that may have helped her through the public stigma of her theft lol
-
Sophie Monk is cool as fuck, and I won't hear otherwise.
-
Any Aussies watching this wretched show? This was kinda cool on it;
http://www.9jumpin.com.au/show/australias-got-talent/2016/profiles/bios/sisters-doll/
I don't watch that show, well because it's kinda long and drawn out too much, but it's better than the others of the same ilk.
Cool to see this band on it. There were 3 clips.
I remember this CD when it came out. Never really did it for me. Songs were ok, but nothing more than that.
You guys who can't see the clips - take that and multiply by 10 for Aussies, where so many US clips are 'not available in my country'
Weird 'cause we live in a global society now more than ever....

Gravity.
Kids hated it.
I saw it at IMAX 3D so it was probably a lot more powerful the first time, but still enjoyed it again.

My 1995 list would be (in order)
Dangerous Toys - The R*tist Formerly Known As
Van Halen - Balance
Bon Jovi - These Days
Joey Tempest - A Place To Call Home
WASP - Still Not Black Enough
Slaughter - Fear No Evil
Nelson - Because They Can
Queen - Made In Heaven
Warrant - Ultrphobic
Slash's Snakepit - It's 5 o'Clock Somewhere
Michael Sweet - Real
Danger Danger - Dawn
Harem Scarem - Voice of Reason
Kix - Show Business
Thunder - Behind Closed Doors
Amaze Me - S/T
I thought LA Guns - Viscous Circle was 1994? If not it would be high on my 1995 list as well

Three really great songs off 3 for me.

Vocals kinda sound like Tom Keifer without the power or range.
-
I'm gonna go with this one...

Firstly, it's a great song, but...
Whoa, is that the biggest mullet you've ever seen?
If this guy acted like this these days he'd be in jail - stalking, assault, you name it.
Love the choir that comes in at various times.
I wonder if at the time this clip was seen as a good old joke and a bit of fun.
Now it's just creep[y, and at times he looks like a meth head and kind of special needs. -
Holy shit! As we say in Australia, that's grouse!... as we said in the 80's you mean
-
One of my absolute favorite cover song:
That was pretty cool.
Reminder me of an amazing cover by Dee Snider
For me it 'finished' the song that I always thought kinda went nowhere...
-
I like covers where the song is either improved, updated or modernised (or in some cases metallised) or covers which present the song in a different and interesting way.
Hate covers where it's pretty much the same song rerecorded. Not many covers are better than the originals, but some are.
Some of my favorites are
Radar Love - White Lion
Sound Of Silence - Bobaflex
Everything I Own - Tesla
Fuck You - Vains Of Jenna
Then you have songs which completely overshadow the originals
Cum On Feel The Noize - QR
Mama Weer All Crazy Now - QR
-
-
Dead Pool - pretty great
-
and they're just the ones I selected from the full list at the link...
-
Hardly 'new records'
Club Daze was 1999
Still Hungry 2004 and likely done so they'd get some royalties for the songs, even though it was done under the guise of 'not being happy with the production on the original'
As far as I know they haven't really played many gigs at all. Just bigger festivals.
If a band is really reformed, then they make new music and tour.
They didn't do wither, hence, not really reforming. (to me anyway)
-
Hard To Love - Harem Scarem
the whole album is perfection........isn't it??
Yeah, but for me the first time I heard of HS was when Melodic Rock posted acoustic versions of Hard To Love and Honestly.
I remember hearing Hard To Love and wondering how an electric version could be better
So for me, that song is a stand out, but over time I can see that the whole album is amazing.
-
Nope, no snare drum
I was a huge TS fan. I still think their material is amazing..
Ironically, their best song, Heroes Are Hard To Find (basically a Dee Snider song with the band brought in at the last minute) is not really known about very well.
Best live show I've ever seen.
They haven't really been reformed as such.
They came together for a fundraiser and then played the odd show here and there - I guess pretty much for cash.
-
Take The Dog Off The Chain - Babylon AD
I Hate Kissing You Goodbye - Tuff
More Wine Waiter Please - The Poor
Love Song - Tesla
Lit Up - Buckcherry
Nonstop To Nowhere - Faster Pussycat
Cum On Feel The Noize - Quiet Riot
Poison Apples - Motley Crue
Love Is A Lie - Great White
C'mon Take Me On - Hardcore Superstar
Hard To Love - Harem Scarem
Wanna Be The One - Haywire
Fly To The Angels - Slaughter
Never Enough - LA Guns
Say Goodbye - Krokus
Sober - Butch Walker
Epic - Faith No More
Thank God For Jack Daniels - Sex Slaves
The Love - Sammy Hagar
Your Disease - Saliva
I Don't Want To Say Goodnight - Mike Tramp
All This And Heaven Too - Michael Sweet
In Your Arms - Little Caesar

I believe it.
I think Dee is going to do his own thing for a while.Lately he has a habit of speaking shit about his peers for press.
Latest one was ripping into the sentence Vince Neil got for Razzles death.
Of course this was a few days before We Are Twisted Fucking Sister was released.
Also recently commented on Vince's singing ability, Kiss and Tommy and Eric and makeup, and the Scorpions and Judas Priest.
One thing that shocked me was that the Milwaukee 2003 show was pretty much identical to the Melbourne 1987? show - same shtick, same rants didn't change in 25 years...
-
Glad I saw them in 2003 in Milwaukee. They never made it back to Australia, even though they PROMISED they would

Artifact - the story (documentary) of 30 Seconds To Mars vs Sony
Had seen bit of it before when flicking around but it was a pretty interesting movie.
Really puts into perspective the way record companies have always screwed artists.
Make you feel like they got what they deserved.
One interesting line was that the biggest seller of songs online was Apple - an electronics manufacturer.
Shows how badly the record companies refused to move forward and adapt.
The Defiants (Paul Laine/Bruno Ravel/Rob Marcello) - s/t
in AOR and Hard Rock
Posted
Just lost interest.
Maybe people are so desperate for anything 80's they are suddenly able to put up with what would have been considered average actually in the 80's
Maybe it's just too AOR for me.
I just found it boring, syrupy and generic.
