  1. If only Sam would spend a "little" extra money and press his titles on authentic / silver-backed discs, we'd ALL be buying a lot more of his product. There are at least five CD's I'd order from his site right now if that were the case. Keep asking, JLP... It can't hurt.
  2. EARTHSHAKER, I.M.O., is one of the "three biggies" as far as "early rock / metal" goes for AMERICAN bands. The other two being Van Halen S/T and Montrose S/T.
  3. STANDING HAMPTON, I.M.O. is not only Sammy's greatest solo venture, it's one of the greatest hard rock releases of all time. That's right, I said it, and I mean it. It's AWESOME in every way! Ranks right up there with Back In Black as far as "lasting" albums go.
  4. Moving into more of a "classic rock" theme now-a-days... I still have all my hair-metal stuff, and I love it, but my tastes are changing a bit. So, this week I purchased the following: AEROSMITH *** Toys In The Attic *** GET YOUR WINGS CHEAP TRICK *** DREAM POLICE STYX *** Cornerstone BILLY SQUIER *** Don't Say No ROD STEWART *** Greatest Hits (Target Pressing) LED ZEPPELIN *** IV (Target Pressing) BOB SEGER *** Beautiful Loser RAINBOW *** Down To Earth *** Difficult To Cure *** Long Live Rock N Roll
  5. Last thing I need is for my Maiden CD's to get up and walk out on me!
  6. I, for one, am very happy to hear this. However, JLP or someone... PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE convince Sam he has to use silver-back CD's. I simply cannot put a green or blue-backed CD in my collection.
  7. Perhaps I'm thinking of the REVENGE OF TRUE METAL series? Those are well packaged for sure with beautiful artwork and sturdy slipcases!
  8. Valid question. I would LOVE to buy some of Sam's stuff. You have to admit, a few of the titles are AWESOME. But the last thing I need is a cheap CD-R with photocopied artwork. If he's putting out a nice package (ala HOT METAL, etc.), I'll be first in line!
  9. Staryder1, I thought, perhaps, you were speaking of one of our friends from Nevada or I would not have chimed-in in the first place. Mike (MBUTT) is a great dude and he has my full blessing. If the price is too high, don't buy. Enough on this subject. I'm sure this was all just a case of bad timing to begin with. Believe me, I was NOT happy to see the Hot Boy CD's show up (from a pocket-book standpoint). I live in Portland, OR and have been able to find a few used copies in the past 10 years... all of which sold for more than $250.00! The demand for that title (especially in Japan) is (was) beyond belief!!!! No use searching the pawn shops any more.
  10. KISS came back pretty strong in 1996 after a 15 year (original member) layoff.
  11. I have to be honest, I miss some of those three-page posts filled with more four-letter words than a 70's Steve Martin skit. I was on the edge of my seat with every "refresh" hoping someone had responded. Good times... damn good times!
  12. I did notice that each of the releases clearly shows the original release date as well as the reissue date (1990 / 2005 for example), so no one is being intentionally deceived. I'm not a fan of reissues (unless they have NEVER been released on CD previously) so whether it's Sam that's packaging the product, or Jesus Christ himself, so it's of no concern to me.
  13. And don't forget Jim, Rob Rock and Chris Impeliterri were in a very early incarnation of the band too.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I still only care about the cover-art, really. Damn that chic is HOT!
  14. Blue, A while back I did some exhaustive reserarch myself (I just want the cover-art, really) and was dead-ended at every corner. I honestly do not believe it was ever released on CD. I think I remember dave at Sun City saying he'd check into it? Perhaps we can rattle his cage again. Just don't change the artwork!!!!
  15. I made the mistake of selling my DIRT CHEAP CD... Did you buy this from me on Ebay? Damn, the song BITCH is so freaking cool I wish I'd kept the disc! Anyway, my most recent purchases include: BAD COMPANY - Bad Company TRIUMPH - Stages STYX - Grand Illusion STYX - Pieces of Eight LYNYRD SKYNYRD - Pronounced... LYNYRD SNYNYRD - Street Survivors DEF LEPPARD - Rock of Ages
  16. Scored some goodies last night... DOKKEN - BREAKING THE CHAINS (Original pressing made in Japan by JVC) BTO - NOT FRAGILE FOREIGNER - HEAD GAMES (Finally completed my Foreigner collection) All in PERFECT MINT / LIKE NEW condition, and all original pressings at $8.50 each.
  17. Glad you like the Network CD, Wotty... I helped get that one released with my constant badgering! Right now I'm listening to 38 Special - Tour De Force. Damn this is a good CD!!!
  18. It could be something as simple as an expired credit card for payment of listing fees / final sales percentage, etc. Ebay gave me a pretty hard time after my last tiny, little auction whereby they threatened to suspend me becuase I owed them a whopping $32.00 as my card on file had expired. As a matter of fact, I had to pay immediately via PAYPAL just to reinstate my bidding priveleges.
  19. I loved Germany when they had that Wall. Those "Target" pressing CD's from West Germany circa 1983 / 1985 are awesome!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
  20. The U.S. Customs Agent must not enjoy Triumph nealy as much as I do?
  21. OMG, you're right. Wasn't that the follow-up to Saturday Night Fever whereby he decides he wants to be a Broadway ballarina or something? That was brutal!
  22. I watched LADDER 49 on a portable DVD player during a 4 hour drive home yesterday (I was not driving). Travolta is great in everything he does!
