  1. I thought we were congratulating GEOFF TATE on the awesome new Operation:Mindcrime "The Key" release. Those samples definitely sound like ALBUM OF THE YEAR to these ears. Okay.... maybe NOT!!! Oh, and congrats on the new baby Mr. Geoff!!
  2. https://soundcloud.com/centurymedia/queensryche-arrow-of-time/s-3aMP6 Sounds like Iron Maiden to me. I like it! I uploaded it to YouTube but doubt it will be there for long: http://youtu.be/Y9C4YC1dVbs
  3. +1 (except for the Cauterize comment) This has been discussed to death here and of course is all opinion. Some folk tend to rate an album 10/10 or 100% if they really love every song which is fine. I (as does Geoff) tend to rate every song individually and not every song across the album can be an absolute killer - there will always be a lull somewhere and that's why (up until now), I've not encountered a 100% album.....pretty damned close, but not 100%. That said this is a killer album and well worthy of a score around or in excess of 90%. In fact lets just summarise : best album of 2015 so far Is that easier ;-) Agreed!
  4. OMG..... is that Elvira?
  5. Where is the guitar throughout the song?? The solo is pretty solid. An average hook and average chorus. Bland!
  6. Where did you find samples? The US Amazon page doesn't seem to have them. Click on the MP3 option instead of CD. The MP3 page has samples. Thanks!!
  7. I love Gus G. Everything he releases is awesome!!
  8. It's not a big deal here. Just everyone's tastes are different. It's a damn fine album that rated 86% on 1st spin and gradually grew to a solid 92%. 100% is the ultimate disc. Is this it?
  9. Love this: "Lynch never has stopped striving to attain the elusive carrot. " Well if the fucker stopped playing garbage, he might find a carrot.

  11. from 0dayrox2: http://0dayrox2.blogspot.com/2015/07/george-lynch-shadow-train-deluxe.html * Legendary Dokken guitarist GEORGE LYNCH's long awaited "Shadow Train" project finally comes to light in this all new 18 track Deluxe Edition 2 CD set to be released tomorrow, July 17. George's stellar guitar work, along with vocalist Gregg Analla (a descendant of the Isleta Pueblo Indian tribe), bassist Gabe Rosales (Lynch Mob), keyboardist Donnie Dickman and drummer Jimmy D'Anda, create honest, soulful and meaningful bluesy-based hard rock, that makes this release a must have for all George Lynch, Dokken, Lynch Mob (et all) fans. The music in "Shadow Train" also provides the musical support for Lynch's upcoming, thought provoking documentary that explores the trials and tribulations that face Native American Indians in our world today. The deluxe edition two-CD, 18-track studio album highlights Lynch’s signature guitar style. And it should be noted that this band effort is not specifically a 'Lynch' solo excursion. The music is atmospheric at places, eclectic and explorative, and it taps into the Bluesy, Hard Rock genres with which Lynch thrives. Lyrically, there is no hiding the social commentary; it voices the plight of Native American Indians as the United States deliberately diminishes the value of its historical narrative of the original strong, proud independent nations of North America. While the imagery and the documentary sell the concept of the injustices done to the Native American Indian tribes, the lyrics also explore socioeconomic inequalities and touches on materialism, environmentalism, racism and elitism, among other issues. Vocally, Analla provides the perfect complement to Lynch’s serpentine fretwork. His voice brings influences from the Rock genre, along with his own Native American cultural background, which invites listeners into the diverse multicultural experience of "Shadow Train". The second CD offers music fans a glimpse into the creative exploration of a band looking for an identity. It tastefully combines years of collective experience among individual musicians and produces what is an eclectic soundtrack of music that became the definitive roadmap to the group’s musical soul. The canvas leans on atmospheric arrangements highlighted by Lynch’s guitar, but it also is driven by the vocals, bass and drums and is polished by the keys. CD No. 1 actually was recorded after the second CD. The newer set of songs is a collaborative effort of five guys who spent a whole lot of time knocking around together, working on the documentary, writing and performing. Going back into the studio, the band created an additional nine songs that showcase a matured vibe, which is a tighter assimilation of the "Shadow Train" sound. These tracks are painted with words and music that are reflective and maybe controversial (depending on your point of view), but they most certainly are thought provoking. The music on "Shadow Train" certainly sees Lynch reaching for the pinnacle of his career, where all the stars align and that one moment of clarity is achieved. Built upon the backs of his early bands, including The Boys, Dokken, Lynch Mob, his solo work, instrumental albums and projects (KXM, Sweet & Lynch, Lynch/Pilson), Lynch never has stopped striving to attain the elusive carrot. Partnering with Gregg Analla, Gabe Rosales, Donnie Dickman and Jimmy D’Anda, Shadow Train’s self-titled studio album is a defining moment for Lynch and his fellow bandmates. “I’ve spent more than four decades of my life pursuing elusive musical aspirations. But, for even longer than that, I’ve cared, studied and thought deeply about the human condition and how we interact with each other and the world around us. Fusing these two aspirations into one has been a challenge for me throughout my creative life. This is my attempt at bonding the music and the message into one cohesive whole.” – said George Lynch. Here’s hoping that the new Lynch Mob is as good as or better than this excellent "Shadow Train". Right now, "Shadow Train" offers Lynch fans some of his best written and recorded music to date. 12. I thought Andrew said he wass going to be "tougher" with his ratings?? Yet he still gives out a 100% for Degreed. I love the disc too but it's certainly not a perfect 100% disc. I gave it a 92%.
  13. These guys should kick Caitlyn Jenner to the curb and just continue on as Maxx Explosion. Oooops...... James Christian I mean!! This absolutely DESTROYS the new House Of Lords disc.
  14. Another example on the album of killer music and piss poor vocals that kill the song. Yeah.... imagine this song with a better singer.
  15. LMAO @ Comments are disabled for this video. I wonder why??
  16. With a few months to go before the release of Iron Maiden‘s The Book of Souls, details are starting to slowly come out. The LP’s first single has just been announced, and the band released a picture of the hardback book that will accompany the Deluxe Edition. You can see a photo of that above. Warner Music Norway reports that the single for “Speed of Light” will be available on Aug. 14, three weeks before the album’s Sept. 4 release date. The song is one of the two collaborations by Adrian Smith and Bruce Dickinson. 17. I still hear some Harry Hess in his vocals and I love it.
  18. I don't care how she sings when she's naked rubbing up against my body!!
  19. I try to overlook the God lyrics. One of my favorite bands is Angelica and their lyrics never really bothered me at all.
  20. Actually, thought Geoff would be a fan of this thread. And no, I'm not dating her. But I have already boinked her a few times in my dreams! Oh, I am. If you want me to weigh in on the debate, it shouldn't catch anyone by surprise that I have no issue with implants at all. The only thing I don't like is a really obvious scar, but aside from that, sometimes the work is so good you can't always tell if they're fake or not. They look delicious regardless!
