  1. I've heard Robin's new album via iTunes, it's fantastic IMO ....Will definitely buy the CD as well, too bad we have to wait until next Feb.. She's had guest appearances on several recent releases as well, incl. one of my faves. "Shining Line." Great to see her so active, esp. since she still sounds GR8!!
  2. Thanks for the extended info.--> The more I dig up about "Blood & Chrome," the more I really hope this becomes a reality. But, the end of 2011 or beginning of 2012 seems a looong ways off
  3. This is great news and I to found 'Caprica' missing something but the previews of season two look better but I lost interest around the 3rd episdoe of season one so would have to catch up. Also glad there's another 'Fringe' fan. It's my fav show on TV right now. Just amazing IMO and even more so this season with two different worlds going on. I completely agree re: the amazingness of "Fringe," esp. since the show's writers have really expanded the horizons (figuratively and literally). With two worlds in play, but using the same cast in both settings, there are tons of plot lines that they can create and expand upon, hopefully keeping "Fringe" fresh and viable for a few more seasons. It's tough to keep a SciFi show on the major broadcast networks, people just seem to lose interest faster than with the crime dramas and (*gasp*) reality stuff. "Terminator: Sara Connor Chronicles" and "Dollhouse" were two of the latest examples to prematurely fail, but I wouldn't rank the quality of the writing underpinning those productions at the same level as "Fringe." Caprica's season two looks poised to finally add some action, as the trailers for this week's episode actually show a cylon shootin' at some govt. people...about friggin' time....it's cool to develop characters and add depth to the storylines, but too much of that and the casual viewers definitely go bye-bye and some of the loyal fans start to, at the very least, contemplate channel surfing. I have to DVR just about everything and watch mainly on weekends, so I really hate it when an episode is boring since I can't get my hour of wasted free time back. Alot of people can probably relate to that.
  4. Nice post Justin.....Looks like I'd very much enjoy this album, might be a tough one to acquire though.
  5. That's gr8 news to me. I watched all episodes of the SyFy Battlestar remake as they aired and, with the exception of "Fringe," haven't found another TV series to replace it. Yeah, I've watched all the Caprica episodes too, but it's missing the spark of energy (among other things) present in the Battlestar series.....Maybe this new show will up the excitment factor, sounds promising!
  6. Have been listening to the full album promo last couple of days, and only thing I can say is: OUTSTANDING. I absolutely love this album, ten incredibly strong tracks, "Broken Hearts Won't Last Forever" is simply a stunning uptempo AOR track, "We've Got The Wings" is keyboard laden melodic rock bliss, and "Cross To Bare" has become one of my favorite melodic hard rock songs...ever...in the space of two days. I lapped up "Mr. Scary: The World Can Wait" earlier this year like a starving alleycat, and it's nothing short of sensational to be treated to another Aussie gem within the same year. Oh, did I mention "Don't Fail Me Now" might be the best mid-tempo ballad this side of 1989. Just a fantastic song accentuated by a huge chorus. Many might not be as blown away, but I'd be real surprised if most on this site don't rank this right up there with H.E.A.T., Work Of Art, W.E.T.. Who knows, maybe my lust for this album will calm over time, but right now I've reserved a spot on the shelf right next to "Strangeways: Walk In The Fire" for my soon to be purchased copy of this CD. Buy or die
  7. Great set of songs belted out by one of my favorite hard rock singers. Can't say I dislike any of the tracks, but I don't think it has the 2-3 over the top killer songs from the first album. BUT, I reserve the right to amend that statement as I continue to play the heck out of this CD. And I'd agree completely that this is heaps better than alot of David Reece's more recent projects, with the possible exception of "Gypsy Rose." IMHO, most who liked the first CD will, on average, find alot to like with this effort as well.
  8. Their S/T album is really outstanding IMO, much more of a commercial sound. "The Fall" is also good, I REALLY like about 3 of the songs, the rest not quite as much, but overall the guitars are alot heavier (not bad, just a change in direction). Rex Carroll has some outstanding riffs on both albums, which was my primary motivation for purchasing both CDs. Cool band, would be gr8 if a new album is indeed in the works per their MySpace.

    Broncos! Arrrrghhh

Damn, Dumerville is out 4 freakin' months?! This really SUX, as he WAS our pass rush last season. Not to stray too far off topic, but the Denver Nuggets may seriously have to trade Carmelo ("Melo") Anthony if he refuses to sign the offered contract extension. If that happens, I will most likely not renew my season tix....Maybe I became spoiled back in the late '90s w/back-toback Super Bowl wins and two Stanley Cup championships, all b/t 1996-2001. I want Josh NcDaniels to turn things around in Denver, and as much as I really like a few of the veteran players/leaders on the team, overall this year's squad seems, on paper at least, to be painfully average at best. But, that's why they play the games, so we'll see. I'll remain a loyal fan, as always, regardless of wins and losses, but I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY do not want to witness another late season collapse. Two consecutive seasons of that crap is enough for a lifetime....All pessimism aside--> GO BRONCOS!!!
  10. I (and about 40,000 other fans) had the fortune of seeing Disciple live this past weekend along w/Decyfer Down, a reunified Petra, Kutless and 67 other bands at "Heaven Fest 2010." I couldn't have asked for a better venue--> the festival was held next to a reservoir less than 2 miles from my front door in Colorado. IMO, "Scars Remain" remains (no pun intended) Disciple's pinnacle album (most consistent, best songs) to date, but lookin' forward to grabbin' a copy of the latest album- I like the songs, on avg., better than "Southern Hospitality."
  11. I've bought about half of those so far, great sleaze, Demon Doll has been kickin' my ass. I still need to pick up "Glamour Punks- Can't Fake The Punk! (2009)" one of these days in near future, they've become one of my fav. glam/punk bands. Can't wait to buy Axident Avenue also, methinks I might grow as fond of that one as Loveblast and Crashdiet...maybe
  12. Femme Fatale- S/T (1988) Whitesnake- Good To Be Bad (2008) Mallet- Roll Mallet Roll (1999) Amnesia- S/T (1992) (VG Danish Scandi MHR sort of similar to Stage Dolls, Return) B-Joe- Rattlesnake Heartache (2009) Jaded Heart- Perfect Insanity (2009) Montazh- Reach (1995) (Traded this one to staryder1 awhile back, then came down w/a bad case of trader's remorse--> James sent me a great disc of even greater value, but damn I like this band)) Wicked Sensation- Crystallized (2010) Hungryheart- One Ticket To Paradise (2010) Bai Bang- Are You Ready (2009) Luba- From The Bitter To The Sweet (2000) (Canadian FF AOR/pop rock) Walk On Fire- Blind Faith (1989)
  13. I was outbid awhile back on e-bay for "Billion Dollar Babies: Gold (2010)." Was listed by a reputable e-bay seller--> longhorncds, but since then I haven't been able to find any info. on that release. Anyone heard of this CD? There can't be multiple hard rock/sleaze bands with that name....Anywho, just curious...Cheers, Jeff.
  14. I'd definitely agree, it's a fantastic CD
  15. I've purchased from him, no problems, fast delivery and the disc was legit.. My guess is that he, like a few other sellers such as "musiclotte" in Denmark (a cool guy, by the way), are able to track down a former bandmember thru myspace, etc. and then purchase several copies, which are then auctioned off over time. Musiclotte has been selling Luv Junkies- S/T and Mae West- S/T for going on 2 years (not every auction, but often enough). My personal approach in those cases is to bid moderately high, but have a firm upper limit since chances are pretty good that another copy will be listed before too long. I actually kind of like it when these guys offer multiple copies over time, since I can sometimes get a pretty good deal and the general supply of HTF discs is increased. Anymore, though, I thoroughly search the internet, including MySpace sites, to try and possibly find the original source. Sometimes I'm successful, sometimes not, but I always search around first before placing bids. Regardless of where he found the CDs, screamercd has some great stuff listed and is well worth checking out IMHO.....Jeff.
  16. Their 2nd CD is their best work iMO, the 1st and most recent album don't do it for me....Jeff.
  17. CD arrived within 1 week from Sweden to USA! Don't hesitate to buy directly from these guys, their service is outstanding and the CD is fantastic Scandi MHR IMHO.....Jeff.
  18. Yeah, great CD, just bought a copy. Cool guys to deal with too...Was gonna make a post about this band, but it's cool that someone beat me to it. Their greatest hits disc is also very good with the original singer, "Stigge," on lead vocals (R.I.P.). Hope these guys get a label deal, they deserve it IMO.....Jeff.
  19. I pd. about $25 for my copy of Gas- S/T on e-bay. That said, I don't see this one for sale often enough to really pinpoint an avg. market value. I thought I was getting a good deal, but who knows, maybe not......Jeff.
  20. My only (slight) issue with that list is that I have sold CDs to both Chinese and Russian buyers, without incident (so far). I do concede that the postal systems in both countries are sketchy, but I'd be a bit hesitant to block out buyers from those two places completely...Just my 2 cents...Jeff. That list is taken primarily from the list of countries that Shipsurance won't insure to. If I can't get insurance coverage, I don't ship there, as it's a PayPal chargeback just waiting to happen. China is blocked for more pragmatic reasons: While I can insure to China, I found that dealing with Chinese buyers isn't worth the hassle. I had a spate of buyers that spoke not a single lick of English and were trying to communicate through eBay with messages that were nothing but a bunch of Chinese characters. Trying to coordinate payment and shipping details became more trouble than it was worth, especially on combined purchases. My patience ran out and I blocked China. Yes, you're right, insurability is a valid issue. I often make use of the private shipping insurance companies as well, and Russia seems to usually be excluded. In each of my sales to that country, however, the purchase price has been low enough that I've chosen to go ahead and take my chances. And, the buyers have been low risk in my estimation, including a couple of return buyers. A common sense cost/benefit analysis always ultimately guides my decision-making process in this arena, and I most certainly would be reticent to ship higher value items to Russia without insurance. I've been lucky so far re: communication with foreign traders. I speak fairly fluent Spanish, which has helped on occasion, but while I admire the aesthetics of the Chinese language, I don't understand a lick either. If communication ever becomes a significant PIA, I'd, of course, have to re-evaluate as well.
  22. Wow, I seriously would have to flip a coin as to which of those to listen to first when the package arrived .....I'll be buyin' all 4 of those in near future as well, must haves IMO.
  23. I recently picked up "Saliva- Cinco Diablo" for next to nothing and was pleasantly surprised. Their formula never varies too much, but I usually find a handful of songs on each album that I like.
  24. New Generation Superstars were also playing that night too, twas a great gig . Span aren't too great, but if you're gonna look them up for kicks, then start out with the song "Don't Think The Way They Do". It's my favorite song of theirs, plus they made a video for it, so it should be on Youtube somewhere. HaHa...Found that Span song, it is pretty cool. Kind of an interesting band.......Wow, that WAS on helluva gig mate, 3 great bands .....Cheers, Jeff.
