  1. Unless they no longer have the rights to those albums, I really do not see the point of reworking them. I get it when bands are signed to bigger labels and the label owns the rights to them, but I don't see how this benefits anyone with a band like H.E.A.T. I have no issue with bands regaining the rights to their material this way, but just re-recording for the sake of it ... nah. I also understand why a band might re-record stuff with a different singer (although as you say, the re-records on this do not work). Remaster by all means if you think it will improve the sound, but even that can actually end up with a worse version than the original if not done properly.
  2. So decided to order this even though I still have not bought Force Majeure, mainly because of the price. I must admit I wasn't exactly blown away with HEAT II, even with Erik being on it and I think that was because they were attempting to recapture the sound of the first two albums, which I really don't care for. I will only get the last album when I can find it cheaper. This one though is pretty "meh" though. I don't hate Kennys vox but they are so generic compared to Erik. Most of the songs they re-recorded and the live tracks are from HEAT II so that goes against it too for me. Overall only really bought it for collectors sake.
  3. Not a vinyl collector, so not really of much interest but I will say though I am happy there is nothing new that is exclusive to this release. I bought all these albums several years ago on CD when they were reissued with bonus tracks (I think I only had Headless and Idol on CD at the time) so have all of those bonus tracks already. Certainly a nice sounding package though, so should be nice for anyone who is into vinyl.
  4. Announced on FB by Barbe-Q-Barbies on their official page, and by Niki on her personal page: Dear B-Q-B followers! With heavy hearts we are announcing that Niki’s long and glorious journey with us has come to an end. We wish nothing but the best to all her new adventures in life and music projects. Girl, you will always be one of the Barbies and the past 17 years with all the crazy adventures will never fade away! We love you! Still, this is not the end of our journey. We are announcing big news tomorrow morning 10am! Stay tuned!
  5. I didn't see the Wrathchild tracks as there was just so much on there. Looking again I see them and Hellion (not a band I know, but do know the name). Surprised he uploaded tracks from Delirium. Would have thought the Trash Queens stuff would have fit his collection better.
  6. Thats what happens when you leave the voting to an uneducated public who have the attention span of a gnat and only follow what is the latest trends. The people who would vote for them don't watch shows like this.
  7. Not sure if this is someone on here or if people are aware of this, but certainly will be interesting to some I am sure. Seems to be mostly unsigned or indy bands from the 80s hard rock and metal scene (literally the only one I recognised was Cry Wolf). Looks like the channel was started 5 years ago with one video, but a year ago they started uploading like crazy. Mostly just audio tracks, but still an impressive selection and sound seems pretty spot on with what I looked at. https://www.youtube.com/@heavymetal80sraritieshq26/videos
  8. Just watching the blu ray of the 2022 Hellfest set that came with the CD. It's crazy how this guy is 75 (74 at the time of the concert) yet still sounds exactly how he always has, and still has a great stage presence. I have seen him live in 2002, 2012 & 2015 and he has always been a fantastic performer, but shows no signs of slowing down. And he knows how to surround himself with fantastic musicians as well.
  9. Another cracking album from the Coop.
  10. No news on this yet, but Neil Murray posted on FaceBook Neil Murray · Sadly I have to pass on the dreadful news that my friend and colleague since 1974, Bernie Marsden, has passed away. So many great times with him, musically and personally. A great loss. RIP Bernie.
  11. I wont pretend to be a big fan of Lizzy, I own a best of and two earlier albums and never felt the need to buy the rest of his/their stuff. That said the what I have heard in the last decade or so with his new material has been pretty meh, but at least sounded like Lizzy. This song sounds nothing like him. I don't hate it, but I sure as hell don't care about it either.
