  1. Battlestations is still my favourite song by them and they still have not added it as a bonus track at any point. Should have stuck it on the remaster of In the heart of the young. To be honest, not sure they have released many non-album tracks on singles or soundtracks. Yeah there is Battlestations from Bill & Teds Bogus Journey, and Never which was a b-side (that appeared on the demos album), Higher and higher was put on the CD release of the debut and Hell to pay was put on the Very best of. Sadly most of their singles had standard album tracks or remixes, and the Japanese albums had zero bonus tracks.
  2. New video debuts tonight. They have mentioned there is a new line up but not mentioned who. Might be similar to when they changed vocalists after the first album and re-recorded Bombshell.
  3. Sadly the bonus disc of demos is just an extremely cut down version of the Demos album released back in 2007

Atlantic Records is issuing a new Box Set that includes the WINGER releases from 1988-1993, and in addition, they are adding a Bonus Disc of related Demos. Atlantic recently did something similar with Ratt which proved to be a great package that fans loved. Now it appears, it’s time for the WINGER Box Set release. Share and support… see details below. ————————————— FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: WINGER’s 1988-1993 ALBUMS COMPILED IN NEW BOX SET, ALONG WITH A BONUS DISC OF DEMOS One of the most-aired hard rock bands on MTV during the late ’80s and early ’90s was Winger, a band who had it all – expert chops, chart success, arena tours, etc. And now for the first time ever, the band’s best-selling albums will be compiled together in the new box set, Chapter One: Atlantic Years 1988-1993 – which will be released on November 17, 2023 via Atlantic/BMG, and will be available as both vinyl and CD versions. Included will be the band’s self-titled debut from 1988 (which spawned the hits “Madalaine,” “Seventeen,” and “Headed or a Heartbreak”), In the Heart of the Young from 1990 (which gave us “I Can’t Get Enuff,” “Miles Away,” and “Easy Come Easy Go”), and Pull from 1993 (which contained “Down Incognito”). And long-time fans of the band – whose classic line-up was comprised of singer/bassist Kip Winger, guitarists Reb Beach and Paul Taylor, and drummer Rod Morgenstein – will probably be most intrigued by the inclusion of the fourth disc, Demo Anthology, which includes original demo versions of Winger’s biggest hits. Additionally, the set will be newly remastered by Ted Jensen – with the remaster process overseen by Kip Winger. “I’m very proud of this box set. It captures an unforgettable era for the band and these are the only remasters I officially endorse.” – Kip Winger Still rocking to this day – the band issued their seventh studio effort overall in 2023, the appropriately titled Seven. Kip Winger is also a respected and successful symphonic composer, having issued recordings under the name C.F. Kip Winger, while Reb Beach has been a member of Whitesnake since 2002, and Rod Morgenstein has served as a professor at Berklee College of Music (in addition to playing in a variety of other more jazz-fusion-based projects). To obtain all of Winger’s definitive LP’s in one fell swoop, Chapter One: Atlantic Years 1988-1993 covers all the bases – and then some! 5. I obviously cant speak for the rest of the world, but their last album was easy to get hold of. I bought it about two years after it came out direct from Amazon UK. Probably out of print now as no longer on Amazon and prices on Discogs are steep.
  6. I used to be a massive Maiden fan and used to pick up all of Bruces solo output, but after he returned to the band over 20 years ago I have had little or not interest in them as their output has been pretty bland and repetitive. As for Bruces solo stuff, it was very hit or miss. Tattooed Millionaire was a cool commercial rock album, Balls was a bit more out there but had a few songs on it liked, Freak was awesome but everything else was "meh". I will probably do the same with this as I do with Maiden these days, wait til the price drops before picking it up.
  7. Must admit that never been interested in this band, but have seen them live a couple of times (supporting Halestorm I think) and Brink certainly knows how to put on a show.
  8. Just recommended this on YouTube. Not necessarily something that I am interested in, but don't see any topics discussing their upcoming album "Life" available in November, and I think it will appeal to some (despite the horrible dad dancing from the singer at the start)
  9. Another band he was part of is KilliT, which is more melodic than the glam/sleaze of King Lizard. From what I have seen he did a Kickstarter for the new album, but says its his debut. We never learn was only released digitally, so maybe he considers that more of a demos thing or something. Plus this new album is the first time he has taken on vocals, so that may also be why he considers it his debut.
  10. Niro is most well known as guitarist for King Lizard. https://heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/band.cgi?BandNum=5798 Probably not a band that well known outside of the UK/Europe.
  11. Looking at some other videos of this footage on YouTube and one name crops up in the credits as "music" and thats Shane Drasin. Looking into it more, Ric Drasin was the owner or creator of Golds Gym and it looks like he did these videos using family members to do various jobs. Shanes name also comes up as director of photography on another video I saw. Searching Shane Drasin, he appears to be a guitarist among other things and actually posted some new stuff on YouTube in the last few days, and once appeared on The Price Is Right playing a guitar. Sounds reasonable that he is at least playing guitar on that song, if not singing, but there is also a video of him and Adam Drasin doing a live performance, and its a different style of music and cant say which one of them is singing. Maybe this will help drill things down.
  12. Funny thing is I used to own this CD https://www.discogs.com/release/9811968-Various-Foundations-Forum-90-CD-Sampler and that also has a Trouble Tribe song on it, but I dont remember it. I kinda regret getting rid of it as it obviously wasn't something common in the UK, and while it can still be picked up cheap it's always from the USA/Canada so postage is ridiculously high. (one US seller selling it on Discogs wants $10 for the CD and $50 for postage)
  13. Was thinking about something like this the other day when I saw a bunch of new submissions to the main site. Yes there are still bands coming along with good names, but so many are terrible. Part of me wonders if it is because so many of todays bands are not necessarily English speakers as a first language and they maybe don't realise how bad their names are. Some names are just cookie cutter names as well. Names they think sound 80s but really dont. Also, I find it cringe when bands use the main persons name. Back in the day you could get away with it if it sounded cool (Van Halen, Bon Jovi etc) or if you were into the lighter side of rock (Huey Lewis, Bruce Hornsby, Bruce Springsteen etc) but today it really does not work, especially when you have some less than cool sounding name, especially once again, from a non-English speaking country where your name just isn't that normal or could sound like something else. Here are a few names that were recently submitted that are pretty damn awful imo Big Red Fire Truck Ruffyunz Deserta Robert Pehrsson's Humbucker (unless you are a guitarist you probably have no idea what a humbucker is) The Black Skeleton Nigro (yes it may be your surname, but you tell me one person who does not see that and think of a word that is not acceptable) Screamaker Youthex The View inside Of course there are still some decent band names, and some of them actually are good throw backs to 80s sounding names Jettblack Crazy Lixx Reckless Love Halestorm Crashdiet The Warning Bloodywood One Desire Of course though there were still bands back in the day that had bad names, but I do think its more glaringly obvious. I do think that while a bad name is not necessarily a sign the music will be bad, I do think there is at least a possibility they might lose potential new fans who are put off by the name though.
  14. Funny thing is I had never heard of them back in the day, but bought the CD off Dan over a decade ago.
