  1. Agreed. But this one was my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsP32mXaq-0
  2. Have you actually listened to the whole of Grand Design's new album? 'Cause I wouldn't rate the lead single as the best track. Meaning, you should hear it, if you haven't. I've heard the the whole thing. Decent songs, but I didn't care much for the audio quality. Rawk n Roll Heart Attack was still my favorite though.
  3. I haven't heard any albums that blew me away this year except for a couple of EPs. Seconds Away's "(Untitled) EP" is good Modern Rock and Aaron Vaughn's "Never Before" EP is a must-have if you like Country music. I'll just list my top 10 tracks so far: 01. Aaron Vaugn - Never Before 02. Seconds Away - Dissent 03. Thousand Foot Krutch - I See Red 04. Poets of the Fall - Brighter Than the Sun 05. Seconds Away - Valediction 06. Seasons After - It's Alright 07. Grand Design - Rawk n Roll Heart Attack 08. Our Last Night - Bye Bye Bye 09. Aaron Vaughn - I Don't Want to Love Her Anymore 10. Royal Bliss - Cry Sister
  4. Does anyone know what song this is? I heard it while shopping. I tried SoundHound, but got no matches. I tried Googling the lyrics "I gotta walk away. I'm not in love", but that didn't help either. So, I just hit "record" and managed to at least get the ending guitar solo. http://k007.kiwi6.com/hotlink/8huth7t79z/tune.mp3 edit: Found it. It's Roq Royale - Walkaway
  5. "Lean Into It" is a classic. I remember the days of getting banned from P2P networks because my mp3 player titled the album cover as "Daddy, Lover, Brother, Little Boy.jpg"
  6. Does anyone else think Teresa Straley sounds just like Eric Martin? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gr0lb5BAgU
  7. Great songs, but horrible sound quality. Some of the tracks make me wonder if they even listened to it before it was released. This is not how '80s music sounded.
  8. These are Jim Vallance songs written for Roger Daltrey and .38 Special. I'm curious to hear what Adams did with them.
  9. The new CD will be released on 9/16. Sounds promising. I love "Walk Away". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OPCpTPLToI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcVbSz7LjU8
  10. Yeah, and if you buy the online digital version of some of these older CDs you could end up getting a 10 minute mp3 with a good chunk of silence and a crap tune at the end. This is nobody's favorite Firehouse song (starts at 4:33): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7oqdHZF1Ss
  11. This is an odd combo of violin, techno and hard rock, but Lzzy does a great job on the vocals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49tpIMDy9BE
  12. This year's biggest dissapointments: Adelita's Way, "Stuck". I loved the first CD. The 2nd had a couple of good songs. I couldn't find a single track I liked on this one. Red Wanting Blue, "Little America". Their last album was one of the best of 2011. This one just sounds like filler. Winger, "Better Days Comin'". What happened to this band since "Pull"? Tesla, "Simplicity". I never cared for Jeff Keith's voice, but I could handle it if the songs were good enough. These aren't. Loverboy, "Unfinished Business". I knew these were going to be older unreleased tracks, but I didn't expect they'd be the actual demos. "Just Getting Started" is a great album. I wish they'd do more of that. Rod Black, "Honesty". Sure, hit your fans up for cash so you can get your new CD released, then rip them off with a CD that sounds like shit because it was burned from mp3s and not the original master.
  13. I got one of those from Charter, but it was just a postcard saying I had to call regarding a copyright violation. I called their number and found out it was for downloading an episode of Law and Order SVU via bittorrent. I told them that I would put a password on my unprotected wifi. They bought the excuse and that was the end of it. Lesson if you're going to do this sort of thing: Get your goods from usenet (it can't be traced) or a private bittorrent site.
  14. Wow. This sounds even worse than I was expecting. I get that these are demos as the title suggests, but they'd have a good album here if they'd actually "finished" them.
  15. Yeah, same here. The sound is awful which is too bad since the songs are otherwise good.
  16. "Necessary Evil" from Voice of Reason is a masterpiece.
  17. Very catchy. I like it. I'll have to check out the rest.
  18. My current favorite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukick72Qafc
  19. I enjoyed "Bite the Bullet" but the next two didn't do much for me. I'm looking forward to this one being better.
  20. I thought the production was awful. This one's a gruesome casualty of the loudness war with every track pegged to the max and sounding completely flat and lifeless. It's a shame because the music was good, but I find it difficult to listen to.
  21. Cool song, but a 58-year-old man shouldn't be singing those lyrics.
  22. Where are you guys hearing Night by Night? Their website says the album isn't out until July.
  23. I'd call it more of a tribute than a rip off. Producer/Guitarist, Bleu, also did an E.L.O. tribute with his band L.E.O. in '06. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWgEbxe7OQ0
  24. Right now, I'm hooked on Aaron Vaughn's EP, "Never Before". Check out the title track. It's not on Youtube, but you can hear the whole thing here: http://www.reverbnation.com/aaronvaughnband
  25. I'd pay money for if they get around to releasing something. They're as good as anyone else with a record deal. They mentioned shooting a video for "Dissent" so maybe an official release is on the way.
