  1. Boards have been a little slow after all
  2. Haha, i was just about to suggest that it's because I havent been around to cause a spectacle in the last year or so I'm sure most people don't even remember me these days (or is the word i'm looking for hope )
  3. Supernatural is about the both of them, lets face it....if one of the two gets killed off and doesn't get brought back then there's no Supernatural....which is why it's starting to get a bit annoying that they keep killing these characters off, cause is just pointless now....you know they're just gonna come back somehow
  4. Reallly can't stand to listen to anything by Linkin Park, or Paramore...
  5. I'm not all that keen on the ballads tbh, more into their heavier tracks if you hadnt guessed from my previous post Hate My Life is a good tune though, and the lyrics can be quite funny depending on your state of mind Make Up Your Mind is a decent tune too....apart from its very close resemblance to How You Remind Me
  6. Probably because it is a terrible song and there is not a band on the planet that could make it sound even listenable. As for this thread, I think it's safe to say Mike covered it thoroughly. Many, many tunes in those lists I enjoy. ¬¬
  7. HELL YEAHHH!!!!! I fuckin LOVE Theory xD Fave tracks have to be Invisible Man, Crutch, Leg To Stand On, Bad Girlfriend, Got It Made and Heaven (Little By Little) They can be quite heavy at times....not HEAVY heavy, but as heavy a Side Of A Bullet or Figured You Out by Nickleback, you ask me, they're like Nickleback but BETTER!!
  8. Surprised no-ones mentioned Fm - heard It Through The Grapevine or Beau Nasty - Love Potion #9 yet
  9. Yeah, Beat It by Michael Jackson.....sitting in my room, door shut, headphones on and just before the solo theres a random knocking noise...made me think someone was at the door xD Actually, first time i listened to Black or White was the same thing
  10. Its annoying....Chains & Shackles isn't even a new song!! It's Nothing To Say with a different vocal part/lyrics
  11. Then i pass, i refuse to spend money on digital music they say illegal downloads are killing the industry? They're wrong, its bands (or rather, record companies) ignoring the fact that there's still a market for CDs
  12. Please reply......now?
  13. This makes it the best Man Cave already Well, living with my parents at age 19, my 'man cave' would be my tiny little bedroom xD still, as measly as it may appear compared to some other rooms mentioned...its not a bad setup i gotta admit, and i shall bore you all with the details now Got all my CDs, alphabetised and catagorized, computer hooked up to my stereo system, all my recording software is on the computer with my pedalboard hooked up and i just about have enough space for my Kramer, Les Paul and Strat aswell as my Bass, Acoustic, two keyboards and guitar amp....nothing special but i can lock myself away in there for days and just learn songs, record, practice, smoke (), drink, read (all my comics are nice n handy), watch DVDs, listen to tuneage etc.... And having a bed there when i have a girl over is a major advantage xD (this is where i point out that my comic books are nicely concealed, guitars seem to give off a better vibe than a comic collection ) Yeahh nothing compared to having my own chillout room in my own house, but I still got everything i need!
  14. And today's show was brought to you by the letters W, T and F!!
  15. I never read the "Sin City" graphic novel but I did see the movie... did nothin' for me other than the scenes where Jessica Alba was wearing next to nothing. It was a great looking movie but I honestly couldn't make heads or tails of it. Too artsy-fartsy for me. I liked the first half of "Superman Returns" better than the second half. At first it was great seeing "The Big Red S" back in action again. But by the mid point of the movie when Luthor's big bad plan for world domination kicked in it got a little too "grim and gritty" for me. I know that's the trend in superhero films now, to make them all dark and troubled, but that doesn't really work for Superman. He's SUPPOSED to be unrealistic, he's the ultimate all-American red white and blue Boy Scout, rescuing cats from trees, etc. When he got beaten half to death by Luthor's thugs, then Lex stabbed him with the Kryptonite dagger and threw him off the cliff I was like "WTF? Get the f*ck outta here, this is supposed to be SUPERMAN, not Super-b*tch!" It kinda took me out of the movie, if that makes any sense. Then towards the end when he was lying in the hospital with tubes up his nose & stuff, I'm like "OK, I realize that this is more realistic, but Superman's supposed to be tougher than this." Oh, and Lois Lane's irritating kid (who of course is the subject of a "reveal" late in the film that everyone saw coming from a mile away) should've been written outta the script after the first draft. Though it was kinda funny when he crushed one of Luthor's bully boys with the piano. Ah yeah i agree there, but then again the current Superman comics are like that (although that goddamn kid was annoying as hell!), what annoyed me was the plot hole where he just disappeared for 5 years....i dont think Superman would abandon Earth to find survivors of a planet that he knows, for a fact, blew up :s I loved Sin City!!! My 2nd all time favourite film! Behind The Crow ofcourse which is just my favourite comic adaptation/film ever, you really can't beat The Crow
  16. If you were 8 when you first saw "Batman & Robin," you were pretty much right in the target demographic for it. My son saw it when he was 5 and he thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. Those of us who were old enough to have seen the previous three films, however, were reaching for the nearest barf bag. I didn't mind "Batman Forever" though, to be honest... I thought Val Kilmer was a pretty decent Batman (it probably wasn't a great career move for him to bail out on the character after only one movie; after all, where have you seen him lately? Haha)... 'course my fondness for that film could also be due to my massive 20+ year crush on Nicole Kidman... :giggity: I only saw "Superman Returns" fairly recently. There was a lot of stuff I liked about it, but also a lot of stuff I didn't like. I guess after waiting nearly 20 years for a new Superman film my hopes were probably a bit too high. As for the earlier films, I'd say stick to I and II. "Superman III" was bad and "IV" was worse. In fact, "IV" is one of the worst, if not THE worst, comic book movie ever made. Simply godawful. Oddly enough, now that I think about it, probably the most faithful comic-book-to-screen translation I've seen was the 1966 "Batman" movie w/Adam West and Burt Ward... cuz at the time (mid 1960s), that's exactly what the Batman comics were like....flat out freakin GOOFY, and the movie and TV show captured it perfectly.... nah i'd say that'd go to Sin City but if i recall correctly both the film and comic were 'after your time' xD I liked Superman Returns a lot, probably my favourite up till now....although the Donner cut of Superman II is also REALLY good, you can't beat Zod when it comes to villains! I heard Val Kilmer was in the new Knight Rider series? That's about it
  17. Oh, BUT!!! Batman and Robin did have Alicia Silverstone in it, which started a lifelong crush on her xD
  18. Oh yeah, the Batman series went straight into the sh*tter with that movie. I try to avoid it whenever possible. It came on TV a year or two ago and my then-4 year old said "let's watch it!" ... he loved it, I kept thinking to myself "Gawd, I forgot how much this movie sucked ass." I swear, sometimes I think the people in Hollywood who are making all these comic book movies have never read a comic book in their lives. They either mess with stuff that doesn't need to be messed with or they add stuff that is just silly. Remember "Superman IV: The Quest For Peace," when Superman repaired the Great Wall of China via... telepathy? There's a skill he never had in the comics. Ah Batman and Robin was the first Batman film i saw and at the time i liked it (at about age 8) then i saw the first 3 films and WOW, they sure put perspective on the last one for me.....although Batman Forever got a lot of shit for having Val Kilmer and Robin in it I really liked it, still do....that one seemed to portray the look of the comics really well....not a huge fan of Returns though, always seemed a little too dark and stylistic for my taste :/ as for Superman, seen I, II (Lester and Donner cuts) and Returns....still have III and IV on DVD to watch but i'm not sure i can sit through them now, although i want to xD
  19. Heh heh, I like BOTH Nirvana's xD But i dont see The Doors comparison, this sounds more like a watered down, Sgt Peppers era Beatles to me (in other words, another british 60s copycat band) but its not bad, i like it
  20. Heh heh, while its not exactly the sorta stuff i was seeking out a couple of years ago its all stuff ive been interested in, just sorta skipped over when i started getting into the lessar known bands
  21. Being a student with little money i'm constantly going to CD stores or shopping online and adding a myriad of albums to my basket (or in todays case, my arms ) and having a bill of about £70 a time, having to narrow it down to about £20 I usually find myself ditching albums i've been meaning to get for awhile...bearing in mind we're in a recession and it would appear that few people are in a position to splash out on CD sprees (although it wouldnt surprise me if some of you prioritise that over the important things) I'm sure im not the only one that has to make these hard decisions, what are the albums you guys keep meaning to purchase? for me it's gotta be Kings of Leon - Only By The Night, The Doors - The Doors and the Point Break and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas soundtracks....these albums always end up getting ditched because theres just so much stuff out there I want!!! Case in point, today i found: Metallica - Black Album Alice In Chains - Black Gives Way To Blue Michael Jackson - Bad Kings of Leon - Only By The Night Foreigner - Greatest Hits Journey - Don't Stop Believin: the Very Best Of Faith No More - The Ultimate Definitive Very Best Of Aerosmith - Oh Yeah: Greatest Hits W.A.S.P - W.A.S.P and The Last Command double CD set after spending about an hour fondling said CDs (and annoying my less musically inclined lady friends in HMV xD) I ended up with Michael Jackson, Alice In Chains, Faith No More and Aerosmith....still not sure I made the best choice there :s Anyone else?
  22. LOL!!! Fuckin hell mannnn, I must apologize for my unbelievably touchy nature a couple of years ago I went to college last year and learnt to chill the fuck out, I think i speak for everyone when i say that although i havent posted much in the last year or so (probably due to the fact that ive been busy with college, gigging and friends....which is great, btw ) these boards have been a lot nicer to read Although I wonder if i will ever get back the friends i made and lost on here, hopefully....I was 16 when i joined this board, and i'm 19 now, I can drink, I can smoke, i could drive if i had the money...It's no wonder I stirred up so much shit!! In my defence i put it down to naivete and teenage angst (with a healthy dose of arrogance), and the situation of growing up being home educated and not knowing how to socialise for long periods of time....all i can say is thank fuck I've grown up!! So once again, I am very sorry for being such a douche back then, although in my head i believed what I said (and to a degree, i still do) I had a habit of digging myself into a hole many a time due to a lack of communication skills (or a firm standpoint for that matter) SamboraRocks/Dan is no more....Izzy's here and ready to rock it!
  23. Yeahh.....that's not patronising at all!!
  24. Wow, i never knew that was the lineup!! I wanna go back in time and see that show!!!! I tried the link but the actual download links have expired
