  1. and its got Karlsson and that guy from Saint Deamon guy writing songs! Magnus Karlsson? The guy who writes all those Starbreaker and a billion identical songs? Wow... this just went back about 14,000 steps on my interest list. Starbreaker, Allen/Lande, The Codex, Last Tribe, and the upcoming Primal Fear. How can that not excite you? All of the above are good stuff IMO. And for the record the last Starbreaker sounded nothing like Allen/Lande. They are all pretty good, but imo WAY too samey. Starbreaker and Allen/Lande have good differences due to the vocals, but the style of song, imo, is insanely similar. Sorry cousin but I don't hear it at all. Sure I hear some of the sameyness(is that a word?) between Allen/Lande and maybe The Codex and Last Tribe, but I don't hear it in the new Starbreaker. To me he was breaking new ground on that cd. It will be interesting to see if he has a big part in the writing of the new Primal Fear or not. I'd hate to see a Classic Metal band like them get overly Melodic. Im finally hearing these samples - awesome, I cant hear ANY karlsson influence so far...just awesome AOR. Must buy IMO
  2. http://www.myspace.com/burnhalo This kicked my arse this morning. Some delicious straight up hard rock. Track 3 is awesome.
  3. Yeah, there some God awful tracks on this one, but also some killer AOR songs. My shortened version of 10 songs on my ipod is marvellous and leaves out all the crappy theatrical styled songs which just reminded me of the last (awful) POL album!
  4. Glad someone else thinks this is as bad as it is. Really cringeworthy it has been deleted from my ipod.....never to be heard again!
  5. Ha, I thought you had the Christmas blues.....forget about your house move! Hope it went well.......where the hell in England do you live anyway??
  6. Back Talk on Journey's Frontiers Gangland on Maiden's NOTB Revolution on Bad Habit's Revolution........LOL Slow n Easy on Sargent Fury's Still Want more.......I spun this just today and that song is a piece of shite on an otherwise killer hard rock album!!! Doin Time on Paul Laine's otherwise flawless Stick It In Your Ear !!! Tungur Kniver.......can you believe this piece of shite starts Jorn's killer Worldchanger album ???? The hideous 'A Million Nights' on Sturm Und Drang's killer Rock n Roll Children 'Conspiracy' on Organised Crime. Cheers
  7. does that remind you of 'Patience'?? uncanny to me.
  8. My shortened 10 track version is just awesome. Cut out the theatrical dross and you are left with a killer 10 track album. been spinning the following over the last day or 2 - Harem Scarem - Rocks Jeff Scott Soto - Lost In The Translation Pete Lesperance - Down In It Starbreaker - s/t Sargent Fury - Still Want More
  9. BACKED! One of the things I truly love about them. I think them, Bon Jovi and Pretty Maids are a few of the only bands that didn't and I love 'em for it. + just about every AOR band I can think of who are still recording.
  10. Stick It To Ya. Hardly a masterpiece tho Decent melodic hard rock album.
  11. 'Feel My Love', cos I prefer rockers to ballads........mostly.
  12. Ye Gods was there any point posting in this thread! Journey for me by a country mile..........3 of the most classic AOR albums of all time - Evolution / Infinity / Escape.......all virtually filler free. Then Survivor - Vital Signs and Every Second Counts are both great. Too Hot To Sleep is a killer melodic hard rock album for me (AOR ?? not really). Next up Toto. I like their discography, but IV is the real classic - a top 10 AOR album for me. I like both Foreigner and Boston (esp the 'Dont Look Back' album!) but not real favs of mine.

Ha, when that goal went in that was a sweet, sweet moment! Who knows what would have happened if he hadnt saved that diving header! So close to 2-0 ! Ho hum. Seriously what is it with Chelsea's Zonal marking???? Virtually every corner Southend had, they looked vulnerable.........and this is Southend we are talking about, not ManU, Liverpool or Arsenal! No wonder ManU thrashed them last week - worrying times for Chelsea fans.
  14. Really? I only got it on a blind purchase and my inane ramblings were about the first and only I saw in reference to the disc... and a few other comments on the main page here. But I didn't know there was any hype at all for this? So would I like these guys? Yes? No? Maybe? I'll do my best to allow you to find out, probably not until next week, though, but I'll see how I go. Pretty sure you'd like these guys, but you'll probably be with everyone else and find it good but not amazing. Could be wrong, though. It's a simply fantastic slab of 80's hard rock. You normally don't steer me wrong considering that you got me into Universe, Roxus and Steelhouse Lane. its about a million miles from Steelhouse Lane mate

Look stop blubbing on about Luton................ Its the big one tonight - The Shrimpers vs Chelsea I hope you will all be watching the demolition of this pathetic premiership side
  16. Right Ive taken a listen to this and Im pretty much with everyone else on this one - pretty good straight up melodic hard rock, but nothing special. Geoff - sometimes I do think you are in a parallel universe. I mean, I know you wont agree with me in that Threshold - Subsurface, Pride Of Lions - Destiny Stone, PC69 - Thunderdome and Soul SirkUS all kill this album in 2004.......................BUT.............. .........even you cant say that this is better that JSS - Lost In The Translation or Pete Lesperance - Down In It from the same year???? Surely???? Give me a sign that you are still alive in there boy?? Easily better then them all, imo. Especially those first ones you mention, but I even prefer it to Lesperance and JSS too - both excellent albums, but Blind Date is more excellent, imo. Ha ha. Nice one. Yeah. Well I guess that the first 3 tracks on Blind Date are pretty good, & I really like the last 2 tracks, but all the tracks in between are just average to good....nothing more spectacular than 100 other bands have done IMO. To be honest 'Believe In Me' off LITT pretty much kills the whole album, and there are at least 5 tracks off LITT better than any song on Blind Date. Just my opinion of course, but as you said before, I do know my shit
  17. Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams - Threshold
