  1. Ok a couple of things........... 1. What's the Karlsson song?? I reckon it must be 'Guardian Angel'...that sounds like him in the solo. If so its a great song! 2. 'Completely Breathless'.........jesus, Kiske is so close to singing 'Completely Brainless'...anyone else picked up on this....almost ruins the song for me. Almost.
  2. Believe us, I stood next to TIM(2) and the horror on our faces! Wish we had a photo. Put up against the rest of the bill that day, they really were not very good at all (except Reb Beach of course) Backed..... and the Kip Wanger comment 'who's been messing with my shit' when he fucked up the intro to that song was just laughable. The other problem of course was that they followed Gotthard who were nothing short of awesome.
  3. I used to Have 'Breakfast In America' and 'Famous Last Words' on vinyl but havent listened to them in ages.
  4. I'll definitely go if the bill is half-decent, though the mention of British bands does worry me - unless it's Dare or FM (I don't really care for the others). BFT and Place Vendome would be awesome, maybe with Treat back again (with a new album) & I'd also love to see Europe, as long as they promised not to play anything off the last two albums.... There's no way FF will field a band like Europe. Too expensive. The rule of thumb is pretty much if they tour the UK on their own, they do not consider. Apparently they once enquired on Triumph and were told the fee would be $100K. WTF! Cheers PS Pride of Lions would be great! That's a shame. Mind you they had Winger a couple of years back - who were pretty shit - & they must've cost a bit.... Pride of Lions would be awesome, that singer would be amazing live. Yeah, they were pretty average....and Kip Wanger was well rude to the audience as well. Not impressed and I left before the end. Yeah, I keep on dreaming about POL playing FF, but they never do. I just wonder if Peterik asks too much of a fee?? In all honesty Id welcome back quite a few of the acts from last year......D2 (always great....& they could play their new album!), HEAT (I know you dont like them but they were awesome live!), JSS (he was superb as always) and White Sister (man, what a surprise they were...they blew me away and they looked to be having such fun I bet theyd play again at the drop of a hat). Cheers
  5. Talking To Myself - Terraplane
  6. Nowhere near 'Revolution' The 1st and last tracks are the best.

  8. It pisses on Bad Habit. From a great height. (PS I do like 'I Need Someone' tho).

    Proper Footie 2008/9

You're getting to sound as desperate as that other Joker Dont you know it. & it was fuckin 1-1, with Southend scoring a last gasp equalizer. All is not good in the Shrimpers camp.
  10. Not sure if anyone picked up on the forums at Melrock, but Kieran has posted saying that the event is definitely on this year and all the bands have been booked! No announcement yet, but I suppose we can assume it is still Rock City, last weekend of October. He did say that due to the shitty exchange rate they had been looking at some English bands for the bill. Some which spring to mind are Heartland, Newman, Pride (reformed?), Gun (reformed?), FM (or some other Overland connection - The Ladder?), or maybe even Asia or Magnum (might be too costly??). Others Id like to see on the bill - Brother Firetribe Place Vendome Gotthard D2 (again.......but everytime they are EXCELLENT!). Hopefully we can get a few along this time?? Cheers
  11. As ive said a few times already....only D2 or maybe W.E.T. capable of beating this I reckon Who the hell balls are W.E.T??? Yeah, it's a monster album. On second listen I kind of don't really dig 'Believer' and the next weakest song, IMO, is 'Valerie' but aside from those two, the rest are just monsters. Whoever wrote the choruses on this album was on so much fire when this was written. Some of the best melodic hard rock choruses I've heard in the last decade. And a lot of them. 'A scene in reply' is just captivating. As are 'My guardian angel', 'Dancer' and the aptly titled 'Completely breathless'. Mark your diary for Sept 2009 when W.E.T. hits - its the JSS collaboration with The Work Of Art guys and its supposed to be sensational! As for Place Vendome....awesome in a word. The second half of the album in particular is just bloody great.......I mean how good is the last track???? Jesus Christ. One of the best pomp rock songs Ive heard in a long, long time.
  12. Seriously, how good is this album?? Absolutely phenomenal. Would have probably topped my list for 2008. will probably for 2009. The bar has definitely been set. & its sky high x 100
  13. Honeymoon Suite - The Big Prize Sturm Und Drang - Rock n Roll Children
  14. Good, but not quite up to the high standards of Paramour Sessions. Await the album with interest tho. It's funny how high they have set the bar with 'The Paramour Sessions'. This song is excellent - 'Lifeline'. I really love it. But I kind of agree it's not quite as good as stuff off the last disc. Damn it's a sweet track, though. This and 'Hollywood Whore' are both definite keepers. Ha yeah...I was fully expecting the song to blow me away, but it was just good. Weird eh??!
  15. I'm not sure if I'll go that far, but these two albums are definitely comparable. In all honesty, I'd possibly give this one a slight tip in it's favour, if only due to 'That's the way I am' and 'Heaven (Is not here)', which blow away anything on the Eclipse disc. Similar to the new Eclipse? Wow maybe I'd like this one then because I think the new Eclipse is killer. Sturm Und Drang is better IMO. 'Sinner' is killer hard rock with a serious kick arse solo.......in fact the guitars are blazing all over this baby. The last two tracks 'Life' (pure AOR) and Heaven (blissful ballad) are just great. Quite similar in places to the first Leverage album me thinks??
  16. "Battersea" is horrible, utterly tuneless & easily the worst song I've ever heard that Peterik has written. But some of the others are more filler material than being outright awful. 'Make You A Believer' is just stunning - easily the best AOR song of 2008!! The chorus and solo are just mind blowing IMO. As good as AOR gets.
  17. As ive said a few times already....only D2 or maybe W.E.T. capable of beating this I reckon
  18. I had to go with STTG. The s/t is a great album, but I recall the second half being a little patchy (except 'Youth Gone Wild' and 'I Remember You' of course!). STTG is just such a kick arse album tho its got to come out on top
  19. Freak I dont dislike it! - its a good album, but just a bit too mellow for me.......I prefer the earlier more rocking stuff. I know what you mean mate, it is their most Westcoast sounding disc, although it does rock on a few other tracks namely, 'Home Of The Brave' & 'Stay Away'. Home Of The Brave is my second fav..........surprise
  20. Mmmm, what's that like? The new songs they played at FF were pretty shite IMO
