  1. A great track from Apocalyptica's newest release 7th Symphony. But which version is the better one? Version 1 featuring Doug Robb of Hoobastank or version 2 featuring Brent Smith of Shinedown? I think both are great versions but Brent narrowly beats Doug to the finish line. Version 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUGZ-ve4pzM Version 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0NMvCKRb-A

  12. Do you like it melodic? Sure you do! I stumbled across this a month ago and I've never heard it before. An excellent indie and may I say pretty goddamn rare! They only released this 2-track single before calling it a day. Well, take a look at the reviews down below (the only ones I found): From www.angelfire.com: "Not much info on this band, but what I do know is that this is yet another sensational band from Finland. They are called FAULTLINE, and there are 2 songs on their CD. And believe me, everything sounds perfect with this band. The CD has a HUGE sound, and musically the 2 songs are perfect. Then you might ask yourself what FAULTLINE musically brings us, well, they play SUPERB AOR/Melodic Rock like a mix between FRONTLINE, WHITESNAKE and the typical 80s Swedish melodic rocksound (TREAT, DALTON, DAVINCI). Sadly there are only 2 songs, but what you get is absolutely HIGH CLASS stuff. The first song is called “Fallen angel”, a lovely midtempo AOR/Melodic Rocker. The 2nd track is the superb catchy uptempo melodic rocker “Running away from you” which is FRONTLINE meets 1987 WHITESNAKE. I am extremely anxious to the future of FAULTLINE, because if a full-length CD would sound as good as these 2 tracks alone on this CD, then we can conclude that FAULTLINE belongs to the very best in AOR/Melodic Rock from Europe at the moment." And from www.progressiveworld.net: "Faultline is a highly talented 5-piece from Finland who are simply one of the best independent bands I have heard in a long, long time. Even though there are only 2 tracks on this CD-single, these tracks leave the listener begging for more and does indeed serve its purpose when shopping for a deal. What we get is super-catchy melodic heavy in the vein of Dokken, Fifth Angel, and Bonfire. The twin guitar leads by Allu and Samuli are the driving force behind the music, delivering immensely catchy riffs and nice solos. The mid-ranged vocals by Janne are also perfect for the music and come off strong and melodic. The interaction of the rhythm section is both tight and convincing. Both tracks are up-tempo rockers with tons of melody and harmony. In other words, every hard rock fan's dream. The songwriting, arrangements and delivery are top notch and can easily compete with the best bands of the genre. The production for an independent release is almost beyond belief and better than many of the genre's official releases these days. Faultline stand forth showing that even though they are an independent band that there is no excuse for having a crappy production. With the technology available today and computer-based recording studios being public property, every band should have the opportunity to make a good sounding production without having to put loads of money into it. Heck, even the artwork for this CD is very good [but where is it? - PPO Ed.; indeed, nary a pic to be found on the web - PW ed.] If the band can provide more songs of this high standard, they are bound to get signed very soon. Personally, I can't wait for a full blown album and neither can my friends who have heard this material. Keep up the good work guys, you are definitely on the right track in search for a deal. All the best of luck to you! Similar To: Dokken, Fifth Angel, Bonfire [This review originally appeared May 2003 at the ProgPower Online review site -ed.] Tracklisting: Fallen Angel / Running Away From You Musicians: Allu - guitars Samuli - guitars Janne - vocals Discography: Fallen Angel (single) (2002) Genre: Melodic Metal Origin FI " So is it any good? Wanna hear them? Check out the links below. Fallen Angel Running Away From You I've also managed to track down 2 extra copies so PM if you wanna do a trade. Get it before it goes the same route as the Cashmir vs. Brother Firetribe thing. This may be a future "Cashmir".
  13. Is this a new one? Any good? This is their second release from 1995. This isn't quite like their newer releases but I like it. Very mellow and acoustic-driven music. Go here to listen to it.
  14. So you're telling me there´s a possibility for a new Pride release? Damn, now I must get the first one first...
  15. A few weeks?? Try months!! I don't know how many CDs get submitted in a given week but goddamn, it shouldn't take MONTHS to add a CD to the site. I also feel as a newbie my opinions don't matter. Hell, I don't even get many responses when I post topics so I move on to other sites where you don't have to be in a clique to make friends. Just my humble opinion. And which CD are you complaining about not being added? There's also the possibility that one of the moderators decided that the disc/band wasn't appropriate for HH. Just to bring one of mine up, but I submitted the new band CD by Luke Morley of Thunder (The Union) back in October, yet its still not up and its certainly relevant to this site. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qtf2rpuKlQ It´s up now Pretty good stuff!
  16. I'm not that keen on live albums either. Sure I have a few but only to complete some kind of a collection. Don't think I'm gonna get the Leps live album though.
  17. Pretty Maids - Red, Hot And Heavy Contagious - Red, White & Slightly Blue (EP) Vertical Horizon - Running On Ice
