  1. over the years I discovered many wonderful Swedish artists,.. from rock to softer pop... this one is my current favorite, liter version of Tone Norum/Erika... Laila Dahl - One More Day (1990) Laila Dahl - When Will Feelings turn to Words Laila Dahl - Light of Love Laila - No Dream
  2. interesting how this topic turned into Def Leppard and Taylor Swift discussion.. I don't follow country music, however I like Johnny Lee's Looking for Love, as well as the movie Urban Cowboy. Does that count, or is that too pop? Some 70's European schlager pop had a country folksy vibe too, for example Pussycat (Mississippi), I like that too...
  3. very good artist, unfortunately it seems his songs had more commercial success when sung by other artists (Vixen, Alias)..
  4. this release I enjoyed a few years ago is from 2009, but it sounds like 80's synth-funk, maybe even smoother than a lot of tracks from that decade.. Thomas G & Swade - Start It Up (2009) Thomas G & Swade - You're the One
  5. Hot Shot is German early 80's Europop somewhere along the lines of Bucks Fizz or ABBA in style. Pretty obscure I think, but I love choruses of their songs, and their clips on YT are amusing to watch... another guilty pleasure! Hot Shot - Fire in the Night (1981) Hot Shot - I Can't Stand It No More (1983) Hot Shot - Love is to Love a Lover's Love (1982)
  6. Thank you, but I was talking about something a bit more recent, not from 80's.. Issa (I'm Alive) or Angelica (I'm not waiting) are nice artists that I discovered online...
  7. Sicario was good!. However Criminal... just ok. A lot of good actors there, but movie was just ok... Sabotage - nice criminal drama with Arnold
  8. Donkeyboy mentioned above is very addictive Norwegian pop. Here are two more from Sweden from a few years ago along the same lines: The Sound of Arrows (Nova, Conquest, Beautiful Life, Into the Clouds) The Attic (In Your Eyes, A Life to live, Destiny) also, I like And One, nobody mentioned them, good German synthpop-dance band. TOY (the lighter more pop version of Evil's Toy), and Colony 5
  9. Bolland. Nice. Their 'The Domino Theory' release from ยด81 is awesome. Falco was pretty cool too. it sure is good! Have to recognize Giorgio Moroder and Harold Faltermeyer...80's songs that come to mind: Paul Engeman - Push it to the limit, American Dream. Melissa Manchester - Thief of hearts EG Daily - Love in the shadows Limahl - Neverending story
  10. Are C+C Music Factory and Snap! still active? Well fooock me.... I saw performance from I Love the 90's festivals on YT, and Snap was one of the performers, might have been original members too.. Here is a list of some Italo dance from 90's, great for working out! Livin Joy - Don't Stop Moving New System - This is the night Tommie Jenkins - Let me be your love Gilly B - Tonight Ken Laszlo - What a Lonely Night JK - You & I Jinny - wanna be with you Netzwerk - Memories Double You - Run to Me Ice MC - Think about the way Radiorama - Beautiful Man Da Blitz - Moving On Sabrina - Angel Boy
  11. Never met someone like you.... now this will be stuck in my head forever, very catchy tunes
  12. catchy retro-styled disco/funk from Chromeo from a few years ago, and also a nice 2016 comeback from 70's Disco star Cerrone.... anyone remember his 1977 classic Supernature? Chromeo - When the Night falls Night by Night Cerrone - Move Me (feat Brendan Reilly) Cerrone - Good Times I'm in Love (feat Adjana)
  13. Spotlight for today goes to: Dutch brothers Ferdi and Rob Bolland... creators of one of the quintessential 80's songs "Rock me Amadeus". Very talented guys, proudly representing Nederpop! Videos are available on Youtube.... Bolland & Bolland - You're in the Army Now Bolland & Bolland - Tora Tora Tora Bolland & Bolland - Imagination Falco - Rock Me Amadeus (composed and produced by) Falco - Vienna Calling (composed and produced by) Falco - Jeanny (composed and produced)
  14. got introduced to him from Planet P Project (Why Me) from his concept album...and been a fan since. He never got much recognition in US, however a bit more success in Germany.... even appearing as co writer on Craaft (I Wanna Look in Your Eyes).. anyway, just decided to make a topic about Tony Planet P Project - Why Me Tony Carey - I Won't Be Home Tonight Tony Carey - A Fine Fine Day
  15. I like songs Truth and Don't Let Up... not too bad
  16. I have not heard their albums, but both tracks posted here are very pleasant, thank you for sharing!
  17. Lately I've been listening to some Alyson Avenue ..pleasant stuff. Can someone recommend other nice female AOR/Rock from the last 15 or so years?
  18. anyone have favorites? Maybe a long shot at Rock oriented website, but still.. I like some rhythmic music, mostly Euro on the cheesy side of things. Germany and Italy released a lot of Eurodance in the 90's, but there were tracks from all over the world as House music became more mainstream.. Krautrock is a term, is Krautdance??? Anyway these are some German dance tracks I played a lot: Masterboy - Generation of Love (1994) Magic Affair - In the Middle of the Night (1994) Centory - Take It to the Limit (1994) Culture Beat - Mr Vain (1993) Captain Hollywood project - Only with You (1993) La Bouche - Be My Lover (1994) Real Mccoy - Another Night(1994) Bass Bumpers -The Music's got me (1991) Maxx - Get Away (1994)
  19. obviously when he says "pop" he means it's polished and radio-friendly songs. That does not necessarily mean they are actually being played on mainstream radio. I would definitely classify songs like Falling Apart as pop in format. Pop or not, I would still raise a big glass of Lapin Kulta to this band... that is if i had any, heh heh
  20. how could they get away with this name, wouldn't movie producers have a problem with that? good band though!
  21. some recent movies I've seen Black Sea - nice movie with Jude Law, about sunken WWII gold. Fans of submarine flicks like Das Boot and K-19 Widowmaker might enjoy this one.. Triple 9 - nice crime drama Blood Father - with Mel Gibson, an ok movie, not as good as his older movies like Payback or Edge Of Darkness.. Hell or High Water - nice movie about bank robbers, War Dogs - fun movie about gun runners
  22. I think their song Running in the Night is fantastic! FM-84 - Running in the Night (ft Ollie Wride)
  23. didn't know that he was still releasing music, nice Nu-Disco track.. I remember his video for Virtual Insanity from the 90's, a fun video that got a lot of play on radio and tv
  24. heh heh it's Dieter Bohlen,....he also produced some songs for Chris Norman (of Smokie) and Bonnie Tyler for the German market Blue System - Magic Symphony Chris Norman - Some Hearts are Diamonds Bonnie Tyler - Bitterblue
