  1. Spin Gallery is nice if you like softer AOR.. I will post this question here - how come Tommy Denander's first band ATC is not listed at heavyharmonies? Or am I just not searching correct? Tommy was only 16 when Cut in Ice came out, awesome early melodic Metal tune!
  2. than maybe poofy hair is the true meaning of AOR? Poofy Hair Music - PHM heh heh On that note, I was just checking out a clip of Orion the Hunter (So You Ran) on YT. A quinteseential AOR band, and definitely some questionable 80's hair styles going on there too, from a mullet to a perm.
  3. Mental as Anything (Live It Up), great song from one of the best 80's movies! here is some of my other Aussie and New Zeland 80's pop favorites Sharon O'Neill - Losing You Icehouse - Crazy Midnight Oil - Beds Are Burning Men At Work - Who Can It Be Now Real Life - Send me an angel QED - Everywhere I Go
  4. hard to believe someone has never heard Journey's Faithfully. But that ABBA song came before
  5. first time hearing this one, and I like it, Miracle of Love is very nice. Production is not so good though. ballad Secret Lover corny maybe, but also rather touching with instrumental melody and sax solo, very 80's!
  6. I'm on the verge of tears every time I listen to this. It's simply one of the best songs every recorded. imho that Harem Scarem (Stranger Then Love) to me is rather average both in melody and vocals, nothing special about it to bring such emotion.
  7. Good example and I'm sure there are plenty, however just to point out that Discogs says Genre: Rock, Style: Pop Rock Understandably that's just Discogs database classification, but still.....
  8. Jason Bourne (2016) - movie is ok, action spy stuff. I haven't seen all movies from Bourne series, but I think they are all similar. Nice car chase scene in Vegas here! That made me realize that I need to find more Alicia Vikander movies. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. - a result of above Alicia Vikander realization, a fun flick.
  9. nice to see that they're still releasing new songs as recent as 2013, nice song too from Matt Scannell Vertical Horizon - Broken Over You
  10. a missing link to improve US and Russian relationship.... through Euro hoedown music! This song clearly has a life of its own 20 years later, crazy stuff! Rednex - Cotton Eye Joe (Moscow Retro FM) 2013
  11. yes finally I go it, it's Middle Of the Road music....wait a minute, but that's MOR and makes no sense. Acronyms are so confusing!
  12. SNL - two wedding singers who only knew the chorus of Cutting Crew "I Just Died in your arms"
  13. VH1 Classic itself is no more, it's rebranded to MTV Classic now...I wonder if that had anything to do with cancellation? VH1's Top 20 Countdown was also cancelled after 20 years.... now they have stupid reality shows, sad
  14. Nice song by David Nail, it is quite pleasant pop/rock thanks.. heh heh anyone remember Taylor Dayne, or forgot, or are trying to forget... here is a nice modern Dance cover with male vocals, fun clip too Filatov & Karas - Tell It to My Heart
  15. spotlight for today - Danish group Laban. Ivan Pedersen I think nowadays is doing Rock with band Backseat (Backseatboys). However back in the day he was having some fun 80's Eurodisco Love in Siberia Laban - Love in Seberia Laban - Prisoner of the Night Laban - Caught by Surprise Laban - It's a Fantasy
  16. seems revival is more centered in Europe with European labels releasing this stuff...a bit ironic I think
  17. one would think that "A" would stand for Arena? That would make sense because a lot of it is Arena Rock? Album and Adult are less logical to me.
  18. another corker! PEO - Break Another Heart
  19. 50 years making music, good band! Going to the Run, Twilight Zone, Radar Love, Instant Poetry, When the Lady Smiles....classics!
  20. speaking of foreign cinema, a sad French criminal drama and sweet composition by Ennio Morricone! movie probably doesn't have the same effect now as it did 30 years ago, but music still does, nostalgie! Chi Mai - Ennio Morricone (Le Professionel with Jean Paul Belmondo)
  21. I wish Crashed Into Love single was a bigger commercial hit, it's such a smooth pop song. Here is official video for this song: Crashed Into Love (1989)
  22. Coastline from Sweden is also real nice, Masterplan, One Step, Can't Live great tunes!
  23. Saw Contraband a few years ago, remember it being an engaging crime drama and enjoying it, however don't remember the details of ending etc Remember (2015) - with Christopher Plummer and Martin Landau. Nice movie, fans of movies like The Debt and Munich might enjoy this one
