  1. I was checking out my unmarked discs yesterday and came across two Dokken rarities cdrs. Check out both of them and I just wondered if anyone had these and what they thought of them. On some of these songs, I'm totally unsure if its Don singing. On a few others, I wondered if it was even Dokken at all. I uploaded them here so anyone and everyone can check 'em out and give me their opinions. Some of these songs are acoustic/piano versions and a couple are bonus tracks from Dysfunctional and Shadowlife. Check them out here and please post your comments! 2. Nothing pisses me off more than paying decent money for a disc and getting a damn cdr in the mail. Happened twice to me with MM. Never again. I chalked it up as a lesson learned and moved on. There are plenty of better sellers out there.
  3. YesX100. The BC lineup with Ashba oh hell yeah. That album kicks so much ass!
  4. The "how the fuck did I forget them" list: BEAUTIFUL CREATURES (debut line-up) LOVE/HATE KILLER DWARFS EVERY MOTHERS NIGHTMARE (debut line-up) Y&T TROUBLE TRIBE ROXY BLUE HAREM SCAREM HURRICANE HERICANE ALICE SWEET FA
  5. I stopped dealing with them when I paid for Flame's "Blaze" CD, which also said original, and it was a damn CDR. The two Danger Danger CDs I got from them (the two "Cockroach" versions) were both CDRs as well, and that wasn't listed either. I will never buy from these con-artists again.
  6. Damn.... that sounds fantastic!! Now I am actually happy Mr. Big is back!! Agree with the "Green Tinted Sixties Mind" comparison.
  7. Another of Maryland's finest. I LOVE these guys. Check out their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/officialmysticforce
  8. Ahhhh..... fuck. I can't fucking sleep because I'm starting a new job tomorrow and I'm fucking a little anxious. Fuck fuck fuck fuck FUCK!!
  9. I think I love this woman! Eliza Dushku
  10. To quote Paris Hilton, "That's HOT!".
  11. Im with ya...What ever happened to Wiedmer ? Pete Wiedmer left after Power Ride for health-related reasons. Found this from Mark Fox: After ‘Power Ride', the third album, Pete developed epilepsy, so every time he had an epileptic fit he forgot all the lyrics. It was a really horrible time for him. When I heard that, I was kind of thinking "What was he doing" but I have a lot of respect for him for trying to keep going. So the band decided the best way forward was to find a new vocalist, because if you have ambition and are busy a lot of the time you don't have much time to slow down and concentrate on such a major health issue. I can only imagine it must have been a very anxious time for him, because of the worry of having a fit on stage, and the pressure of the worrying could only add to the problem.
  12. Never was a fan of either of these bands. But I voted Warrant on all of 'em. Always considered Winger bumble-gum rock. Agree 100% Rob... Although the first couple times I saw Warrant live (before the release of DRFSR) they were great. I think I even picked up that releasethe first day it came out based on the live shows. It is actually the only release by either band that I slip in the player every now and then. Rob...Did you see any of Warrant's shows at Hammerjacks prior to the release of the debut? I saw them one time and was like "Who the f&ck is Warrant?". They were pretty good too. Was a little disappointed in DRFSR. Live they were much better.
  13. I still think the original singer is a million times better than Fox.
  14. I don't hate Winger. I do love "Miles Away". That's a pretty good tune. I think Reb is a good guitarist and really enjoyed his time in Dokken. "Erase The Slate" was an awesome disc.
  15. Bomb Squad did record 10 or 11 songs for a CD release. The songs were 100% recorded and mastered. That release never happened... Somewhere these songs sit. Nobody, including the band, knows where these recordings are. I don't believe the band has the righs to release these song anyway. That's a shame cuz they sure kicked ass.
  16. Digging through some old boxes of stuff in my basement, I came across some old issues of ROX magazine. The newspaper was the most awesome free local music scene paper there was. Not only did ROX cover the local Baltimore/D.C. local music scene, they also had interviews with the major bands as well. I'm sure LVKix fondly remembers the old ROX. The paper folded back in 1995. A part of me died that day. Anyhow.... the first paper I picked up I started looking through. Man did this bring back some awesome memories. The bands mentioned I remember seeing back in the day. You know.... back in the day when there was actually multiple rock clubs with bands playing every night. I miss those days. But I found a cool little piece on Bomb Squad. I was wondering about these guys after seeing them open on the Babylon A.D., Roxy Blue and Wildside tour I seen. In this issue of ROX magazine, the show is critiqued within the piece on Bomb Squad. Thought I'd share it with you all. Check it out: Bomb Squad by Brian Ullmann (Rox Magazine) During a concert, it is an inherent truth that the headline act will outperform -- if not blow away -- the opening act. The expanded stage, louder sound, more extensive light production, and generally, an audience that has bought tickets specifically to see the headliner all give that band an undeniable advantage. Which leaves us with two options regarding the July 12 Bomb Squad/Wildside/Roxy Blue/Babylon A.D. show at Pier Six Pavilion. One (and I'll tell you up front this was not the case): Babylon A.D. stunk up the stage because there was virtually no noticeable musical difference between Bomb Squad and themselves. Or two (pay attention to this one): There was no noticeable difference between headliner and opener because the fellows in Bomb Squad belong onstage with the best of them. Babylon A.D. filmed their new video for the ballad "So Savage The Heart" during the gig. It's funny how the music business works, because Bomb Squad's ballad "He's Got You" is every bit as good. But instead of hearing their songs all over the airwaves and seeing their faces all over MTV, Bomb Squad is forced to wait patiently for their turn. "Your Love Makes Me High," the band's condemnation of "Johnny Carson-late-night-missionary-position-sex" is just as melodious and high powered as Babylon A.D.'s hit single "Bad Blood" and much more original than Roxy Halen's "Rob the Cradle." The difference here is not songwriting or musical talent, it's just a little luck for these signed bands. It's merely a case of being in the right place at the right time and getting noticed. It will only be a matter of time for Bomb Squad. As evidenced by the Pier Six show, these boys have the metal-rock thing down cold. Lead singer Marc has all the moves and in-between-song-banter of any national singer. And a greater vocal range than most. From his Axl Rose-like baritone on "Last Chance Nancy" to the high-pitched "Your Love Makes Me High," Marc floored me with his versatility. His voice is Bomb Squad's major asset. The riffs by Scott Purcell and the rhythm by bassist D.J. Glass and drummer Scott LeClaire, if not completely original, were more than good enough to place them on the national level with the Babylons and Wildsides of the music scene. Their seven-song set, the evening's briefest, included Baltimore favorites "Groove Me", "Your Addiction" and "Watcha Do 2 Me." The set holds as much merit as any, and their musicianship holds up equally well. Makes you wonder what they could do with a larger stage, longer set, louder sound and bigger lights, huh?
  17. Yeah.... that was a pretty cool show. Didn't like him shooting the amps like that though!! :
  18. Did any of you check out the tunes I uploaded?
  19. Yeah.... me too. They seem to get worse with each album for some reason.
  20. Just watched "The Wrestler". Pretty good.
  21. Am I the only one who thought the first tune sounded like early Metallica?
  22. For those of you who have never heard The Screaming Jets "All For One", here are a few of the tunes that were on there. Some good stuff IMO. C'Mon Better Needle Blue Sashes
